Numbers 10
1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:
2 Make to thyself two silver trumpets: thou shalt make them of beaten work; and they shall be to thee for the purpose of calling the assembly, and of removing the camps.
Fais-toi deux trompettes; tu les feras d’argent battu; et elles te serviront pour la convocation de l’assemblée, et pour le départ des camps.
3 And thou shalt sound with them, and all the congregation shall be gathered to the door of the tabernacle of witness.
Et lorsqu’on en sonnera, toute l’assemblée s’assemblera vers toi, à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation.
4 And if they shall sound with one, all the rulers even the princes of Israel shall come to thee.
Et si l’on sonne d’une seule, alors les princes, les chefs des milliers d’Israël, s’assembleront vers toi.
5 And ye shall sound an alarm, and the camps pitched eastward shall begin to move.
Et quand vous sonnerez avec éclat, les camps qui sont campés à l’orient partiront.
6 And ye shall sound a second alarm, and the camps pitched southward shall move; and ye shall sound a third alarm, and the camps pitched westward shall move forward; and ye shall sound a fourth alarm, and they that encamp toward the north shall move forward: they shall sound an alarm at their departure.
Et quand vous sonnerez avec éclat une seconde fois, les camps qui sont campés au midi partiront; on sonnera avec éclat pour leurs départs.
7 And whenever ye shall gather the assembly, ye shall sound, but not an alarm.
Et quand on réunira la congrégation, vous sonnerez, mais non pas avec éclat.
8 And the priests the sons of Aaron shall sound with the trumpets; and it shall be a perpetual ordinance for you throughout your generations.
Les fils d’Aaron, les sacrificateurs, sonneront des trompettes; et elles seront pour vous un statut perpétuel en vos générations.
9 And if ye shall go forth to war in your land against your enemies that are opposed to you, then shall ye sound with the trumpets; and ye shall be had in remembrance before the Lord, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
Et quand, dans votre pays, vous irez à la guerre contre l’ennemi qui vous presse, alors vous sonnerez des trompettes avec éclat, et vous serez rappelés en mémoire devant l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous serez délivrés de vos ennemis.
10 And in the days of your gladness, and in your feasts, and in your new moons, ye shall sound with the trumpets at your whole-burnt-offerings, and at the sacrifices of your peace-offerings; and there shall be a memorial for you before your God: I [am] the Lord your God.
Et dans vos jours de joie, et dans vos jours solennels, et au commencement de vos mois, vous sonnerez des trompettes sur vos holocaustes, et sur vos sacrifices de prospérités, et elles seront un mémorial pour vous devant votre Dieu. Moi, je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu.
11 And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud went up from the tabernacle of witness.
Et il arriva, en la seconde année, au second mois, le vingtième [jour] du mois, que la nuée se leva de dessus le tabernacle du témoignage.
12 And the children of Israel set forward with their baggage in the wilderness of Sina; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Pharan.
Et les fils d’Israël partirent du désert de Sinaï, selon leur ordre de départ, et la nuée demeura dans le désert de Paran.
13 And the first rank departed by the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
Et ils partirent, pour la première fois, selon le commandement de l’Éternel par Moïse.
14 And they first set in motion the order of the camp of the children of Juda with their host; and over their host [was] Naasson, son of Aminadab.
La bannière du camp des fils de Juda partit la première, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Nakhshon, fils d’Amminadab;
15 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, [was] Nathanael son of Sogar.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils d’Issacar était sous Nethaneël, fils de Tsuar;
16 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zabulon, [was] Eliab the son of Chaelon.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Zabulon était sous Éliab, fils de Hélon.
17 And they shall take down the tabernacle, and the sons of Gedson shall set forward, and the sons of Merari, who bear the tabernacle.
Et le tabernacle fut démonté; puis les fils de Guershon et les fils de Merari partirent, portant le tabernacle.
18 And the order of the camp of Ruben set forward with their host; and over their host [was] Elisur the son of Sediur.
Et la bannière du camp de Ruben partit, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Élitsur, fils de Shedéur;
19 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Symeon, [was] Salamiel son of Surisadai.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Siméon était sous Shelumiel, fils de Tsurishaddaï;
20 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad, [was] Elisaph the son of Raguel.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Gad était sous Éliasaph, fils de Dehuel.
21 And the sons of Caath shall set forward bearing the holy things, and [the others] shall set up the tabernacle until they arrive.
Puis les Kehathites partirent, portant le sanctuaire; et on dressa le tabernacle, en attendant leur arrivée.
22 And the order of the camp of Ephraim shall set forward with their forces; and over their forces [was] Elisama the son of Semiud.
Et la bannière du camp des fils d’Éphraïm partit, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Élishama, fils d’Ammihud;
23 And over the forces of the tribes of the sons of Manasse, [was] Gamaliel the [son] of Phadassur.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Manassé était sous Gameliel, fils de Pedahtsur;
24 And over the forces of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, [was] Abidan the [son] of Gadeoni.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Benjamin était sous Abidan, fils de Guidhoni.
25 And the order of the camp of the sons of Dan shall set forward the last of all the camps, with their forces: and over their forces [was] Achiezer the [son] of Amisadai.
Et la bannière du camp des fils de Dan partit, à l’arrière-garde de tous les camps, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Akhiézer, fils d’Ammishaddaï;
26 And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Aser, [was] Phageel the son of Echran.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils d’Aser était sous Paghiel, fils d’Ocran;
27 And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Nephthali, [was] Achire the son of Aenan.
et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Nephthali était sous Akhira, fils d’Énan.
28 These [are] the armies of the children of Israel; and they set forward with their forces.
Tel fut l’ordre de marche des fils d’Israël, selon leurs armées; et ils partirent.
29 And Moses said to Obab the son of Raguel the Madianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are going forward to the place concerning which the Lord said, This will I give to you: Come with us, and we will do thee good, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.
Et Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de Rehuel, Madianite, beau-père de Moïse: Nous partons pour le lieu dont l’Éternel a dit: Je vous le donnerai. Viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien; car l’Éternel a dit du bien à l’égard d’Israël.
30 And he said to him, I will not go, but [I will go] to my land and to my kindred.
Et il lui dit: Je n’irai pas; mais je m’en irai dans mon pays, et vers ma parenté.
31 And he said, Leave us not, because thou hast been with us in the wilderness, and thou shalt be an elder among us.
Et [Moïse] dit: Je te prie, ne nous laisse pas, parce que tu connais les lieux où nous aurons à camper dans le désert; et tu nous serviras d’yeux.
32 And it shall come to pass if thou wilt go with us, it shall even come to pass that in whatsoever things the Lord shall do us good, we will also do thee good.
Et il arrivera, si tu viens avec nous, que le bien que l’Éternel veut nous faire nous te le ferons.
33 And they departed from the mount of the Lord a three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them a three days' journey to provide rest for them.
Et ils partirent de la montagne de l’Éternel, le chemin de trois jours; et l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel alla devant eux, le chemin de trois jours, pour leur chercher un lieu de repos.
34 And the cloud overshadowed them by day, when they departed from the camp.
Et la nuée de l’Éternel était sur eux de jour, quand ils partaient de leur campement.
35 And it came to pass when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Arise, O Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered: let all that hate thee flee.
Et il arrivait qu’au départ de l’arche, Moïse disait: Lève-toi, Éternel! et que tes ennemis soient dispersés, et que ceux qui te haïssent s’enfuient devant toi!
36 And in the resting he said, Turn again, O Lord, the thousands [and] tens of thousands in Israel.
Et quand elle se reposait, il disait: Reviens, Éternel, aux 10 000 milliers d’Israël!
