Jeremias 7
1 Hear ye the word of the Lord, all Judea.
यह वह कलाम है जो ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से यरमियाह पर नाज़िल हुआ, और उसने फ़रमाया,
तू ख़ुदावन्द के घर के फाटक पर खड़ा हो, और वहाँ इस कलाम का इश्तिहार दे, और कह, ऐ यहूदाह के सब लोगों, जो ख़ुदावन्द की इबादत के लिए इन फाटकों से दाख़िल होते हो, ख़ुदावन्द का कलाम सुनो।
3 Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Correct your ways and your devices, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज, इस्राईल का ख़ुदा, यूँ फ़रमाता है: अपने चाल चलन और अपने आ'माल दुरुस्त करो, तो मैं तुम को इस मकान में बसाऊँगा।
4 Trust not in yourselves with lying words, for they shall not profit you at all, saying, It is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.
झूटी बातों पर भरोसा न करो और यूँ न कहते जाओ, 'यह है ख़ुदावन्द की हैकल, ख़ुदावन्द की हैकल, ख़ुदावन्द की हैकल।
5 For if ye thoroughly correct your ways and your practices, and do indeed execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
क्यूँकि अगर तुम अपने चाल चलन और अपने आ'माल सरासर दुरुस्त करो, अगर हर आदमी और उसके पड़ोसी में पूरा इन्साफ़ करो,
6 and oppress not the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, and go not after strange gods to your hurt:
अगर परदेसी और यतीम और बेवा पर ज़ुल्म न करो, और इस मकान में बेगुनाह का ख़ून न बहाओ, और ग़ैर — मा'बूदों की पैरवी जिसमें तुम्हारा नुक़सान है, न करो,
7 then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land which I gave to your fathers of old and for ever.
तो मैं तुम को इस मकान में और इस मुल्क में बसाऊँगा, जो मैंने तुम्हारे बाप — दादा को पहले से हमेशा के लिए दिया।
8 But whereas ye have trusted in lying words, whereby ye shall not be profited;
देखो, तुम झूटी बातों पर जो बेफ़ायदा हैं, भरोसा करते हो।
9 and ye murder, and commit adultery, and steal, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and are gone after strange gods whom ye know not,
क्या तुम चोरी करोगे, ख़ून करोगे, ज़िनाकारी करोगे, झूटी क़सम खाओगे, और बा'ल के लिए ख़ुशबू जलाओगे और ग़ैर मा'बूदों की जिनको तुम नहीं जानते थे, पैरवी करोगे।
10 so that it is evil with you; yet have ye come, and stood before me in the house, whereon my name is called, and ye have said, We have refrained from doing all these abominations.
और मेरे सामने इस घर में जो मेरे नाम से कहलाता है, आकर खड़े होगे और कहोगे कि हम ने छुटकारा पाया, ताकि यह सब नफ़रती काम करो?
11 Is my house, whereon my name is called, a den of robbers in your eyes? And, behold, I have seen [it], saith the Lord.
क्या यह घर जो मेरे नाम से कहलाता है, तुम्हारी नज़र में डाकुओं का ग़ार बन गया? देख, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, मैंने खु़द यह देखा है।
12 For go ye to my place with is in Selo, where I caused my name to dwell before, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
इसलिए, अब मेरे उस मकान को जाओ जो शीलोह में था, जिस पर पहले मैंने अपने नाम को क़ाईम किया था; और देखो कि मैंने अपने लोगों या'नी बनी — इस्राईल की शरारत की वजह से उससे क्या किया?
13 And now, because ye have done all these deeds, and I spoke to you, but ye hearkened not to me; and I called you, but ye answered not;
और ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, अब चूँकि तुम ने यह सब काम किए, मैंने बर वक़्त' तुम को कहा और ताकीद की, लेकिन तुम ने न सुना; और मैंने तुम को बुलाया लेकिन तुम ने जवाब न दिया,
14 therefore I also will do to the house whereon my name is called, wherein ye trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Selo.
इसलिए मैं इस घर से जो मेरे नाम से कहलाता है, जिस पर तुम्हारा भरोसा है, और इस मकान से जिसे मैंने तुम को और तुम्हारे बाप — दादा को दिया, वही करूँगा जो मैने शीलोह से किया है।
15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I cast away your brethren, all the seed of Ephraim.
और मैं तुम को अपने सामने से निकाल दूँगा, जिस तरह तुम्हारी सारी बिरादरी इफ़्राईम की कुल नसल को निकाल दिया है।
16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, and intercede not for them to be pitied, yea, pray not, and approach me not for them: for I will not hearken [unto thee].
“इसलिए तू इन लोगों के लिए दुआ न कर, और इनके वास्ते आवाज़ बुलन्द न कर, और मुझसे मिन्नत और शफ़ा'अत न कर क्यूँकि मैं तेरी न सुनूँगा।
17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
क्या तू नहीं देखता कि वह यहूदाह के शहरों में और येरूशलेम के कूचों में क्या करते हैं?
18 Their children gather wood, and their fathers kindle a fire, and their women knead dough, to make cakes to the host of heaven; and they have poured out drink-offerings to strange gods, that they might provoke me to anger.
बच्चे लकड़ी जमा' करते हैं और बाप आग सुलगाते हैं, और औरतें आटा गूँधती हैं ताकि आसमान की मलिका के लिए रोटी पकाएँ, और ग़ैर मा'बूदों के लिए तपावन तपाकर मुझे ग़ज़बनाक करें।
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord: do they not [provoke] themselves, that their faces may be ashamed?
ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, क्या वह मुझ ही को ग़ज़बनाक करते हैं? क्या वह अपनी ही रूसियाही के लिए नहीं करते?
20 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, my anger and wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and upon the men, and upon the cattle, and upon every tree of their field, and upon the fruits of the land; and it shall burn, and not be quenched.
इसी वास्ते ख़ुदावन्द ख़ुदा यूँ फ़रमाता है: देख, मेरा क़हर — ओ — ग़ज़ब इस मकान पर, और इंसान और हैवान और मैदान के दरख़्तों पर, और ज़मीन की पैदावार पर उँडेल दिया जाएगा; और वह भड़केगा और बुझेगा नहीं।”
21 Thus saith the Lord, Gather your whole-burnt-offerings with your meat-offerings, and eat flesh.
रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज, इस्राईल का ख़ुदा, यूँ फ़रमाता है कि: अपने ज़बीहों पर अपनी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियाँ भी बढ़ाओ और गोश्त खाओ।
22 For I spoke not to your fathers, and commanded them not in the day wherein I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, concerning whole-burnt-offerings and sacrifice:
क्यूँकि जिस वक़्त मैं तुम्हारे बाप दादा को मुल्क — ए — मिस्र से निकाल लाया, उनको सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानी और ज़बीहे के बारे में कुछ नहीं कहा और हुक्म नहीं दिया;
23 but I commanded them this thing, saying, Hear ye my voice, and I will be to you a God, and ye shall be to me a people: and walk ye in all my ways which I shall command you, that it may be well with you.
बल्कि मैंने उनको ये हुक्म दिया, और फ़रमाया कि मेरी आवाज़ के शिनवा हो, और मैं तुम्हारा ख़ुदा हूँगा और तुम मेरे लोग होगे; और जिस राह की मैं तुम को हिदायत करूँ, उस पर चलो ताकि तुम्हारा भला हो।
24 But they hearkened not to me, and their ear gave no heed, but they walked in the imaginations of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward;
लेकिन उन्होंने न सुना, न कान लगाया, बल्कि अपनी मसलहतों और अपने बुरे दिल की सख़्ती पर चले और फिर गए और आगे न बढ़े।
25 from the day that their fathers went forth out of the land of Egypt, even until this day. And I sent to you all my servants, the prophets, by day and early in the morning: yea, I sent [them],
जब से तुम्हारे बाप — दादा मुल्क — ए — मिस्र से निकल आए, अब तक मैंने तुम्हारे पास अपने सब ख़ादिमों या'नी नबियों को भेजा, मैंने उनको हमेशा सही वक़्त पर भेजा।
26 but they hearkened not to me, and their ear gave no heed; and they made their neck harder than their fathers.
लेकिन उन्होंने मेरी न सुनी और कान न लगाया, बल्कि अपनी गर्दन सख़्त की; उन्होंने अपने बाप — दादा से बढ़कर बुराई की।
27 Therefore thou shalt speak this word to them;
तू ये सब बातें उनसे कहेगा, लेकिन वह तेरी न सुनेंगे; तू उनको बुलाएगा, लेकिन वह तुझे जवाब न देंगे।
28 This is the nation which has not hearkened to the voice of the Lord, nor received correction: truth has failed from their mouth.
तब तू उनसे कह दे, 'यह वह क़ौम है जो ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा की आवाज़ की शिनवा, और तरबियत पज़ीर न हुई; सच्चाई बर्बाद हो गई, और उनके मुँह से जाती रही।
29 Cut off thine hair, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on thy lips; for the Lord has reprobated and rejected the generation that does these things.
“अपने बाल काटकर फेंक दे, और पहाड़ों पर जाकर नौहा कर; क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द ने उन लोगों को जिन पर उसका क़हर है, रद्द और छोड़ दिया है।”
30 For the children of Juda have wrought evil before me, saith the Lord; they have set their abominations in the house on which my name is called, to defile it.
इसलिए कि बनी यहूदाह ने मेरी नज़र में बुराई की, ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, उन्होंने उस घर में जो मेरे नाम से कहलाता है अपनी मकरूहात रख्खी, ताकि उसे नापाक करें।
31 And they have built the altar of Tapheth, which is in the valley of the son of Ennom, to burn their sons and their daughters with fire; which I did not command them [to do], neither did I design it in my heart.
और उन्होंने तूफ़त के ऊँचे मक़ाम बिन हिन्नोम की वादी में बनाए, ताकि अपने बेटे और बेटियों को आग में जलाएँ, जिसका मैंने हुक्म नहीं दिया और मेरे दिल में इसका ख़याल भी न आया था।
32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when they shall no more say, The altar of Tapheth, and the valley of the son of Ennom, but, The valley of the slain; and they shall bury in Tapheth, for want of room.
इसलिए ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, देख, वह दिन आते हैं कि यह न तूफ़त कहलाएगी न बिन हिन्नोम की वादी, बल्कि वादी — ए — क़त्ल; और जगह न होने की वजह से तूफ़त में दफ़्न करेंगे।
33 And the dead bodies of this people shall be for food to the birds of the sky, and to the wild beasts of the earth; and there shall be none to drive [them] away.
और इस क़ौम की लाशें हवाई परिन्दों और ज़मीन के दरिन्दों की ख़ुराक होंगी, और उनको कोई न हँकाएगा।
34 And I will destroy out of the cities of Juda, and the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of them that make merry, and the voice of them that rejoice, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride; for the whole land shall become a desolation.
तब मैं यहूदाह के शहरों में और येरूशलेम के बाज़ारों में ख़ुशी और ख़ुशी की आवाज़, दुल्हे और दुल्हन की आवाज़ ख़त्म करूँगा; क्यूँकि यह मुल्क वीरान हो जाएगा।
