Jezekiel 5
1 And thou, son of man, take thee a sword sharper than a barber's razor; thou shalt procure it for thyself, and shalt bring it upon thine head, and upon thy beard: and thou shalt take a pair of scales, and shalt separate the hair.
Og du menneskesønn, ta dig et skarpt sverd! Bruk det som en rakekniv og la det gå over ditt hode og skjegg, og ta dig så en skålvekt og del både hår og skjegg.
2 A fourth part thou shalt burn in the fire in the midst of the city, at the fulfillment of the days of the siege: and thou shalt take a fourth part, and burn it up in the midst of it: and a fourth part thou shalt cut with a sword round about it: and a fourth part thou shalt scatter to the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.
En tredjedel skal du brenne op midt i byen, når kringsetningsdagene er til ende, og en tredjedel skal du ta og hugge i med sverdet rundt omkring byen, og en tredjedel skal du sprede for vinden, og med draget sverd vil jeg forfølge dem.
3 And thou shalt take thence a few in number, and shalt wrap them in the fold of thy garment.
Men nogen få hår skal du ta unda, og dem skal du knytte inn i dine kjortelfliker,
4 And thou shalt take of these again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them up with fire: from thence shall come forth fire; and thou shalt say to the whole house of Israel,
og av dem skal du igjen ta nogen og kaste dem midt i ilden og brenne dem op; derfra skal det gå ut ild til alt Israels hus.
5 Thus saith the Lord; This is Jerusalem: I have set her and the countries round about her in the midst of the nations.
Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Dette Jerusalem satte jeg midt iblandt hedningefolkene og la land rundt omkring det;
6 And thou shalt declare mine ordinances to the lawless one from out of the nations; and my statutes [to the sinful one] of the countries round about her: because they have rejected mine ordinances, and have not walked in my statutes.
men det var gjenstridig mot mine lover, så det var mere ugudelig enn hedningefolkene, og mot mine bud, så det var mere ugudelig enn landene rundt omkring det; for de forkastet mine lover og fulgte ikke mine bud.
7 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Because your occasion [for sin has been taken] from the nations round about you, and ye have not walked in my statutes, nor kept mine ordinances, nay, ye have not even done according to the ordinances of the nations round about you; therefore thus saith the Lord;
Derfor sier Herren, Israels Gud, så: Fordi I har rast verre enn folkene som bor rundt omkring eder, fordi I ikke har fulgt mine bud og ikke gjort efter mine lover og ikke engang gjort efter de folks lover som bor rundt omkring eder,
8 Behold, I am against thee, and I will execute judgment in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
derfor sier Herren, Israels Gud, så: Se, jeg kommer over dig, jeg og, og jeg vil holde dom hos dig for folkenes øine,
9 And I will do in thee things which I have not done, and the like of which I will not do again, for all thine abominations.
og jeg vil gjøre med dig hvad jeg ikke før har gjort og aldri mere vil gjøre maken til - for alle dine vederstyggeligheters skyld.
10 Therefore the fathers shall eat [their] children in the midst of thee, and children shall eat [their] fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and I will scatter all that are left of thee to every wind.
Derfor skal foreldre ete sine barn hos dig, og barn ete sine foreldre, og jeg vil holde dom hos dig og sprede alt som blir igjen av dig, for alle vinder.
11 Therefore, [as] I live, saith the Lord; surely, because thou hast defiled my holy things with all thine abominations, I also will reject thee; mine eye shall not spare, and I will have no mercy.
Derfor, så sant jeg lever, sier Herren, Israels Gud, sannelig, fordi du har gjort min helligdom uren med alle dine avskyeligheter og alle dine vederstyggeligheter, så vil også jeg vende mitt øie bort fra dig uten skånsel og ikke spare dig.
12 A fourth part of thee shall be cut off by pestilence, and a fourth part of thee shall be consumed in the midst of thee with famine: and [as for another] fourth part of thee, I will scatter them to every wind; and a fourth part of thee shall fall by sword round about thee, and I will draw out a sword after them.
Tredjedelen av dig skal dø av pest og fortæres av hunger midt i dig, og tredjedelen skal falle for sverd rundt omkring dig, og tredjedelen vil jeg sprede for alle vinder og forfølge med draget sverd.
13 And my wrath and mine anger shall be accomplished upon them: and thou shalt know that I the Lord have spoken in my jealousy, when I have accomplished mine anger upon them.
Og min vrede skal uttømmes, og jeg vil stille min harme på dem og ta hevn, og de skal kjenne at jeg, Herren, har talt i min nidkjærhet, når jeg uttømmer min harme på dem.
14 And I will make thee desolate, and thy daughters round about thee, in the sight of every one that passes through.
Og jeg vil gjøre dig til en ørken og til en spott blandt folkene som bor rundt omkring dig, for øinene på hver den som går forbi.
15 And thou shalt be mourned over and miserable among the nations round about thee, when I have executed judgments in thee in the vengeance of my wrath. I the Lord have spoken.
Du skal bli til spott og hån, til en advarsel og en forferdelse for folkene som bor rundt omkring dig, når jeg holder dom over dig med vrede og harme og med harmfulle tuktelser - jeg, Herren, har talt -
16 And when I have sent against them shafts of famine, then they shall be consumed, and I will break the strength of thy bread.
når jeg sender inn blandt dem hungerens onde piler, som er til ødeleggelse, dem som jeg sender for å ødelegge eder, når jeg hoper op hunger over eder og sønderbryter brødets stav for eder.
17 So I will send forth against thee famine and evil beasts, and I will take vengeance upon thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through upon thee; and I will bring a sword upon thee round about. I the Lord have spoken.
Jeg vil sende hunger over eder og ville dyr, og de skal gjøre dig barnløs, og pest og blod skal gå over dig, og sverd vil jeg la komme over dig; jeg, Herren, har talt.
