< Psalms 71 >

1 In you, O Lord, have I put my hope; let me never be shamed.
‌ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ou falala kiate koe ʻoua naʻa tuku au ke u mā ʻo taʻengata.
2 Keep me safe in your righteousness, and come to my help; give ear to my voice, and be my saviour.
Fakamoʻui au ʻi hoʻo māʻoniʻoni, pea tuku ke u hao: fakatokangaʻi ho fofonga kiate au, ʻo fakamoʻui au.
3 Be my strong Rock, the strong place of my salvation; for you are my Rock, and my safe place.
Ke ke ʻiate au ko e nofoʻanga mālohi ʻaia te u hū maʻuaipē ki ai: kuo ke fekau ke fakamoʻui au; he ko koe ko hoku makatuʻu mo hoku hūfanga.
4 O my God, take me out of the hand of the sinner, out of the hand of the evil and cruel man.
‌ʻE hoku ʻOtua, ke ke fakamoʻui au mei he nima ʻoe kau angahala, mei he nima ʻoe kau tangata taʻemāʻoniʻoni mo angamālohi.
5 For you are my hope, O Lord God; I have had faith in you from the time when I was young.
He ko koe, ʻE ʻEiki Sihova, ko ʻeku ʻamanaki lelei: ko koe ko hoku falalaʻanga talu ʻeku kei siʻi.
6 You have been my support from the day of my birth; you took me out of my mother's body; my praise will be ever of you.
Kuo ke poupou au talu ʻeku [māvae ]mei he manāva: ko koe ia naʻe toʻo au mei he fatu ʻo ʻeku faʻē: te u fakafetaʻi maʻuaipē kiate koe.
7 I am a wonder to all; but you are my strong tower.
‌ʻOku ou hangē ko e meʻa fakaofo ki he tokolahi: ka ko koe ko hoku hūfanga mālohi.
8 My mouth will be full of your praise and glory all the day.
Tuku ke pito hoku ngutu ʻaki hoʻo fakamālō mo hoʻo fakaʻapaʻapa ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
9 Do not give me up when I am old; be my help even when my strength is gone.
Pea ʻoua naʻa siʻaki au ʻi he ʻaho ʻo ʻeku motuʻa; ʻoua naʻa liʻaki au ʻoka mole ʻiate au ʻeku mālohi.
10 For my haters are waiting secretly for me; and those who are watching for my soul are banded together in their evil designs,
He ʻoku lea kovi kiate au ʻa hoku ngaahi fili; pea ko kinautolu ʻoku lamasi hoku laumālie ʻoku nau fakakaukau fakataha,
11 Saying, God has given him up; go after him and take him, for he has no helper.
‌ʻO nau pehē, “Kuo liʻaki ia ʻe he ʻOtua: fakatanga ʻo puke ia; he ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ke fakamoʻui ia.”
12 O God, be not far from me; O my God, come quickly to my help.
‌ʻE ʻOtua, ʻoua naʻa ke mamaʻo ʻiate au: ʻE hoku ʻOtua, ke ke fai vave ke tokoni au.
13 Let those who say evil against my soul be overcome and put to shame; let my haters be made low and have no honour.
Tuku ke puputuʻu mo ʻauha ʻakinautolu ʻoku nofo ko e fili ki hoku laumālie; ke ʻufiʻufi ʻaki ʻae mā mo e manuki ʻakinautolu ʻoku kumi ke u kovi.
14 But I will go on ever hoping, and increasing in all your praise.
Ka te u ʻamanaki lelei maʻuaipē, pea ʻe tupulekina pe ʻeku fakamālō kiate koe.
15 My mouth will make clear your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for they are more than may be measured.
‌ʻE fakahā atu ʻe hoku ngutu ʻa hoʻo māʻoniʻoni mo hoʻo fakamoʻui ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē; he ʻoku ʻikai te u ʻilo ki hono lau ʻo ia.
16 I will give news of the great acts of the Lord God; my words will be of your righteousness, and of yours only.
Te u ʻalu ʻi he mālohi ʻae ʻEiki ko Sihova: te u fakahā hoʻo māʻoniʻoni, ʻio, ʻoʻou pe.
17 O God, you have been my teacher from the time when I was young; and I have been talking of your works of wonder even till now.
‌ʻE ʻOtua, kuo ke akonakiʻi au talu ʻeku kei siʻi: pea talu mei muʻa mo ʻeku fakahā atu ʻa hoʻo ngaahi ngāue fakaofo.
18 Now when I am old and grey-headed, O God, give me not up; till I have made clear your strength to this generation, and your power to all those to come.
Pea ko eni foki, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻi heʻeku motuʻa mo ʻuluhinā, ʻoua naʻa ke liʻaki au; kaeʻoua ke u fakahā ho mālohi ki he toʻutangata ni, mo hoʻo māfimafi kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻe haʻu.
19 Your righteousness, O God, is very high; you have done great things; O God, who is like you?
Ko hoʻo māʻoniʻoni foki, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻoku māʻolunga ʻaupito, ʻa koe naʻa ke fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi: ʻE ʻOtua, ko hai ʻoku hangē ko koe!
20 You, who have sent great and bitter troubles on me, will give me life again, lifting me up from the deep waters of the underworld.
‌ʻA koe, kuo ke fakahā kiate au ʻae ngaahi mamahi ʻoku lahi mo kovi, te ke toe fakaake au, ʻo toe ʻohake au mei he loto kelekele.
21 You will make me greater than before, and give me comfort on every side.
Te ke fakatupulekina hoku nāunauʻia, ʻo fakafiemālieʻi au ʻi he potu kotoa pē.
22 I will give praise to you with instruments of music, O my God, for you are true; I will make songs to you with music, O Holy One of Israel.
23 Joy will be on my lips when I make melody to you; and in my soul, to which you have given salvation.
‌ʻE fiefia lahi hoku loungutu ʻo kau ka hiva kiate koe; mo hoku laumālie ʻaia kuo ke huhuʻi.
24 My tongue will be talking of your righteousness all the day; for those whose purpose is to do me evil have been crushed and put to shame.
‌ʻE talanoa ʻa hoku ʻelelo foki ki hoʻo māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē: he kuo puputuʻu, kuo hoko ʻo mā, ʻakinautolu ʻoku kumi ke u kovi.
