Job 21

1 Then Job made answer and said,

അതിന് ഇയ്യോബ് ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞത്:

2 Give attention with care to my words; and let this be your comfort.

“എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക; നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു നൽകുന്ന ആശ്വാസം അതാകട്ടെ.

3 Let me say what is in my mind, and after that, go on making sport of me.

ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് ഒന്നു ക്ഷമയോടെ കേൾക്കുക, സംസാരിച്ചുതീർന്നശേഷം നിങ്ങൾക്കെന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കാം.

4 As for me, is my outcry against man? is it then to be wondered at if my spirit is troubled?

“ഒരു മനുഷ്യനോടല്ലല്ലോ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ആവലാതി പറയുന്നത്? പിന്നെ ഞാൻ അക്ഷമനാകാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

5 Take note of me and be full of wonder, put your hand on your mouth.

എന്നെ നോക്കുക, ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടുക; സ്തബ്ധരായി കൈകൊണ്ട് വായ് പൊത്തിക്കൊൾക.

6 At the very thought of it my flesh is shaking with fear.

അതോർക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഭയവിഹ്വലനാകുന്നു; വിറയൽ എന്റെ ശരീരത്തെ ബാധിച്ചിക്കുന്നു.

7 Why is life given to the evil-doers? why do they become old and strong in power?

ദുഷ്ടർ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും വൃദ്ധരായശേഷവും ശക്തി ഏറിവരുന്നതും എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?

8 Their children are ever with them, and their offspring before their eyes.

അവരുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ അവരുടെ ചുറ്റിലും അവരുടെ സന്താനങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ കൺമുന്നിലും സുസ്ഥിരരായിത്തീരുന്നു.

9 Their houses are free from fear, and the rod of God does not come on them.

അവരുടെ ഭവനങ്ങൾ ഭയംകൂടാതെ സുരക്ഷിതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാദണ്ഡ് അവരുടെമേൽ വീഴുന്നതുമില്ല.

10 Their ox is ready at all times to give seed; their cow gives birth, without dropping her young.

അവരുടെ കാള ഇണചേരുന്നു, അതു പാഴാകുകയില്ല; അവരുടെ പശുക്കൾ ഗർഭം അലസാതെ കിടാങ്ങളെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു.

11 They send out their young ones like a flock, and their children have pleasure in the dance,

ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തെപ്പോലെ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ പുറത്തേക്കയയ്ക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികൾ തുള്ളിക്കളിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നു.

12 They make songs to the instruments of music, and are glad at the sound of the pipe.

അവർ തപ്പോടും കിന്നരത്തോടുംകൂടെ ഗാനമാലപിക്കുന്നു; കുഴൽനാദത്തിൽ അവർ ഉല്ലാസനർത്തനമാടുന്നു.

13 Their days come to an end without trouble, and suddenly they go down to the underworld. (Sheol h7585)

അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വർഷങ്ങൾ സുഭിക്ഷതയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നു, സമാധാനത്തോടെ അവർ ശവക്കുഴിയിലേക്കിറങ്ങുന്നു. (Sheol h7585)

14 Though they said to God, Go away from us, for we have no desire for the knowledge of your ways.

എന്നിട്ടും അവർ ദൈവത്തോടു പറയുന്നു: ‘ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോകുക! അവിടത്തെ വഴികൾ അറിയുന്നതിനു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു താത്പര്യമില്ല.

15 What is the Ruler of all, that we may give him worship? and what profit is it to us to make prayer to him?

ഞങ്ങൾ സർവശക്തനെ സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവിടന്ന് ആരാണ്? അവിടത്തോടു പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തു പ്രയോജനമാണുള്ളത്?’

16 Truly, is not their well-being in their power? (The purpose of the evil-doers is far from me.)

എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി അവരുടെ കൈകളാലല്ല; അതുകൊണ്ട് ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ആലോചനയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

17 How frequently is the light of the evil-doers put out, or does trouble come on them? how frequently does his wrath take them with cords?

“എത്രയോ പ്രാവശ്യം ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വിളക്കു കെട്ടുപോകുന്നു? എത്രതവണ അവർക്ക് ആപത്തു വന്നുഭവിക്കുകയും ദൈവം തന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ അവർക്കു നാശം വരുത്തുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു?

18 How frequently are they as dry stems before the wind, or as grass taken away by the storm-wind?

എത്രപ്രാവശ്യം അവർ കാറ്റിനുമുമ്പിൽ പറന്നകലുന്ന കച്ചിത്തുരുമ്പുപോലെയും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റിന്റെമുമ്പിലെ പതിരുപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

19 You say, God keeps punishment stored up for his children. Let him send it on the man himself, so that he may have the punishment of it!

‘ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടരുടെ അനീതി അവരുടെ മക്കൾക്കായി സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു,’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു. അവർ സ്വയം മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടതിന് ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടരോടുതന്നെ പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യട്ടെ!

20 Let his eyes see his trouble, and let him be full of the wrath of the Ruler of all!

അവരുടെ നാശം അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾതന്നെ കാണട്ടെ; സർവശക്തന്റെ ക്രോധം അവർതന്നെ പാനംചെയ്യട്ടെ.

21 For what interest has he in his house after him, when the number of his months is ended?

അവർക്ക് അനുവദിക്കപ്പെട്ട മാസങ്ങൾ അവസാനിക്കുമ്പോൾ തങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുപോകുന്ന കുടുംബത്തെപ്പറ്റി അവർക്ക് എന്ത് ഉത്കണ്ഠ?

22 Is anyone able to give teaching to God? for he is the judge of those who are on high.

“ദൈവത്തിന് ജ്ഞാനംപകരാൻ ആർക്കെങ്കിലും കഴിയുമോ? അവിടന്ന് അതിമഹാന്മാരെയും ന്യായംവിധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

23 One comes to his end in complete well-being, full of peace and quiet:

ഒരാൾ ഊർജസ്വലതയോടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ മരിക്കുന്നു, സമ്പൂർണസുരക്ഷയും സമൃദ്ധിയും

24 His buckets are full of milk, and there is no loss of strength in his bones.

ശരീരപോഷണവും അസ്ഥികൾ മജ്ജയാൽ നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുമ്പോഴുംതന്നെ.

25 And another comes to his end with a bitter soul, without ever tasting good.

അതേസമയം മറ്റൊരാൾ ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു സുഖവുമനുഭവിക്കാതെ മനോവ്യസനത്തോടെ മരിക്കുന്നു.

26 Together they go down to the dust, and are covered by the worm.

അവർ ഇരുവരും ഒരുപോലെ പൊടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു, പുഴുക്കൾ അവരെ പൊതിയുന്നു.

27 See, I am conscious of your thoughts, and of your violent purposes against me;

“നോക്കൂ, നിങ്ങൾ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത് എന്തെന്ന് എനിക്കു നന്നായി അറിയാം, എനിക്കെതിരേ നിങ്ങൾ നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന പദ്ധതികളും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നുണ്ട്.

28 For you say, Where is the house of the ruler, and where is the tent of the evil-doer?

നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു: ‘പ്രഭുവിന്റെ ഭവനം എവിടെ? ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ എവിടെ?’

29 Have you not put the question to the travellers, and do you not take note of their experience?

വഴിപോകുന്നവരോടു നിങ്ങൾ ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ? അവരുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വീകാര്യമല്ലേ?

30 How the evil man goes free in the day of trouble, and has salvation in the day of wrath?

വിനാശദിവസത്തിൽനിന്നു ദുഷ്ടർ രക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു; ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവർ വിമോചിതരാകുന്നു.

31 Who will make his way clear to his face? and if he has done a thing, who gives him punishment for it?

അവരുടെ മുഖത്തുനോക്കി അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ആര് നിരാകരിക്കും? അവരുടെ ചെയ്തികൾക്ക് ആര് പകരംചെയ്യും?

32 He is taken to his last resting-place, and keeps watch over it.

അവരെ ശ്മശാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; അവരുടെ കല്ലറയ്ക്ക് കാവൽ ഏർപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുമുണ്ട്.

33 The earth of the valley covering his bones is sweet to him, and all men come after him, as there were unnumbered before him.

താഴ്വരയിലെ മൺകട്ടകൾ അവർക്കു മധുരമായിരിക്കും; അവർക്കുമുമ്പായി അസംഖ്യംപേർ പോകുന്നു, എല്ലാവരും അവരെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നു.

34 Why then do you give me comfort with words in which there is no profit, when you see that there is nothing in your answers but deceit?

“പിന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിരർഥവാക്കുകൾകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരങ്ങളിൽ വ്യാജമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും അവശേഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ!”
