< Jeremiah 36 >

1 Now it came about in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
In yac se akakosr ma Jehoiakim, wen natul Josiah, el tokosra lun Judah, LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
2 Take a book and put down in it all the words I have said to you against Israel and against Judah and against all the nations, from the day when my word came to you in the days of Josiah till this day.
“Eis sie book limlim ac simusla ma nukewa ma nga tuh fahk nu sum lain Israel ac Judah ac mutunfacl nukewa. Simusla ma nukewa nga tuh fahk nu sum, ke pacl se emeet nga kaskas nu sum in pacl lal Tokosra Josiah nwe misenge.
3 It may be that the people of Judah, hearing of all the evil which it is my purpose to do to them, will be turned, every man from his evil ways; so that they may have my forgiveness for their evil-doing and their sin.
Sahp ke mwet Judah ac lohng ke ma upa nukewa nga akoo in oru nu selos, elos ac forla liki ouiyen moul koluk lalos. Na nga fah nunak munas ke ma koluk ac ma sutuu lalos.”
4 Then Jeremiah sent for Baruch, the son of Neriah; and Baruch took down from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord which he had said to him, writing them in a book.
Ouinge nga pangnol Baruch, wen natul Neriah, ac fahkang nu sel ma nukewa ma LEUM GOD El tuh fahkma nu sik. Ac Baruch el simusla ma inge nukewa in sie book limlim.
5 And Jeremiah gave orders to Baruch, saying, I am shut up, and am not able to go into the house of the Lord:
Na nga fahkang nu sel Baruch ma elan oru: “Tia filfilla nga in som nu in Tempul.
6 So you are to go, reading there from the book, which you have taken down from my mouth, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the Lord's house, on a day when they go without food, and in the hearing of all the men of Judah who have come out from their towns.
Ke ma inge kom fah som nu we ke pacl mwet uh ac sifil tukeni in lalo. Kom fah riti book limlim uh elos in lohng ma nukewa LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik, ac nga takin nu sum. Riti ma inge ke sie acn ma mwet nukewa ku in lohng kom we, weang mwet Judah su tuku liki siti srisrik selos.
7 It may be that their prayer for grace will go up to the Lord, and that every man will be turned from his evil ways: for great is the wrath and the passion made clear by the Lord against this people.
Sahp elos fah pre nu sin LEUM GOD, ac forla liki moul koluk lalos, mweyen LEUM GOD El akkalemye tari ma El akoo in sang lainulos ke mulat ac kasrkusrak yohk lal.”
8 And Baruch, the son of Neriah, did as Jeremiah the prophet gave him orders to do, reading from the book the words of the Lord in the Lord's house.
Ouinge Baruch el riti kas lun LEUM GOD in Tempul oana ke nga supwal in oru.
9 Now it came about in the fifth year of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that it was given out publicly that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people who came from the towns of Judah to Jerusalem, were to keep from food before the Lord.
In malem se akeu ke yac se aklimekosr ke Jehoiakim, wen natul Josiah, el tokosra lun Judah, mwet Jerusalem nukewa, oayapa mwet nukewa su tuku liki siti srisrik lun Judah, elos tukeni lalo ye mutun LEUM GOD.
10 Then Baruch gave a public reading of the words of Jeremiah from the book, in the house of the Lord, in the room of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher square, as one goes in by the new doorway of the Lord's house, in the hearing of all the people.
Na ke mwet nukewa porongo, Baruch el riti ma nukewa nga tuh fahk nu sel su simla in book limlim sac. El tu in Tempul ke infukil sel Gemariah, wen natul Shaphan mwet sim lun inkul lun tokosra. Infukil se inge oan lucng, apkuran nu ke acn in utyak lun Mutunpot Sasu lun Tempul.
11 And Micaiah, the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, after hearing all the words of the Lord from the book,
Micaiah, wen natul Gemariah su ma natul Shaphan, el lohng ke Baruch el riti kas nukewa lun LEUM GOD ma simla in book limlim sac.
12 Went down to the king's house, to the scribe's room: and all the rulers were seated there, Elishama the scribe and Delaiah, the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan, the son of Achbor, and Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah, the son of Hananiah, and all the rulers.
Na el som nu inkul fulat sin tokosra, nu infukil sin mwet sim lun tokosra, yen mwet leum nukewa tukeni we. Elishama, su mwet sim lun tokosra, Delaiah wen natul Shemaiah, Elnathan wen natul Achbor, Gemariah wen natul Shaphan, Zedekiah wen natul Hananiah, ac mwet leum saya nukewa elos oasr we.
13 Then Micaiah gave them an account of all the words which had come to his ears when Baruch was reading the book to the people.
Micaiah el fahkang nu selos ma nukewa ma el lohng Baruch el riti nu sin mwet uh.
14 So all the rulers sent Jehudi, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the book from which you have been reading to the people and come. So Baruch, the son of Neriah, took the book in his hand and came down to them.
Na mwet leum elos supwalla Jehudi (wen natul Nethaniah, su ma natul Shelemiah, su ma natul Cushi) in fahk nu sel Baruch elan use book limlim se ma el tuh riti nu sin mwet ah. Na Baruch el use book limlim sac nu yorolos.
15 Then they said to him, Be seated now, and give us a reading from it. So Baruch did so, reading it to them.
Na elos fahk, “Fahsru muta, ac riti book limlim sacn nu sesr.” Na Baruch el riti nu selos.
16 Now it came about that, after hearing all the words, they said to one another in fear, We will certainly give the king an account of all these words.
Tukun el riti tari, elos ngetani nu sin sie sin sie ke lut ac fosrnga, ac elos fahk nu sel Baruch, “Kut enenu in fahkang ma inge nu sel tokosra.”
17 And questioning Baruch, they said, Say now, how did you put all these words down in writing from his mouth?
Na elos siyuk sel Baruch, “Fahk nu sesr lah fuka tuh kom simusla ma inge nukewa? Ya Jeremiah pa fahkot ma kom in simis uh?”
18 Then Baruch, answering, said, He said all these things to me by word of mouth, and I put them down with ink in the book.
Baruch el topuk, “Jeremiah el fahk kas inge nukewa nu sik, na nga simusla ke ink nu in book limlim se inge.”
19 Then the rulers said to Baruch, Go and put yourself in a safe place, you and Jeremiah, and let no man have knowledge of where you are.
Na elos fahk nu sel, “Kom ac Jeremiah enenu in som wikla. Taran mwet in tia etu yen komtal wikla we.”
20 Then they went into the open square to the king; but the book they put away in the room of Elishama the scribe; and they gave the king an account of all the words.
Mwet leum elos filiya book limlim sac infukil sel Elishama, mwet sim lun tokosra, na elos som nu inkalkal lun tokosra, ac srumunang ma inge nukewa nu sel.
21 So the king sent Jehudi to get the book, and he took it from the room of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi gave a reading of it in the hearing of the king and all the rulers who were by the king's side.
Na tokosra el supwalla Jehudi elan use book limlim sac. El som use liki infukil sel Elishama ac riti nu sel tokosra ac mwet leum nukewa su tu raunella.
22 Now the king was seated in the winter house, and a fire was burning in the fireplace in front of him.
Pacl sac pacl in mihsrisr, ouinge tokosra el muta sisken e se ke nien ta e in lohm se el muta we ke pacl in mihsrisr.
23 And it came about that whenever Jehudi, in his reading, had got through three or four divisions, the king, cutting them with his penknife, put them into the fire, till all the book was burned up in the fire which was burning in the fireplace.
Tukunna Jehudi el ritela tak tolkwe ku akosr kac, na tokosra el sang mitmit srisrik se supukla ac sisang nu in e sac. El sipik, na firri, nwe ke na lisr book limlim sac.
24 But they had no fear and gave no signs of grief, not the king or any of his servants, after hearing all these words.
Tokosra ac mwet leum lal nukewa su lohng ma ritiyuk inge tiana luman sangeng ku oela kutu srisrik.
25 And Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made a strong request to the king not to let the book be burned, but he would not give ear to them.
Elnathan, Delaiah, ac Gemariah nwe kwafe sel tokosra elan tia isik book limlim sac, a el tiana lohngoltal.
26 And the king gave orders to Jerahmeel, the king's son, and Seraiah, the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah, the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the Lord kept them safe.
Toko el sapkin Fisrak Jerahmeel, welul Seraiah wen natul Azriel, ac Shelemiah wen natul Abdeel, in sruokyuwi ac Baruch mwet sim luk. Tusruktu LEUM GOD El wikinkutla.
27 Then after the book, in which Baruch had put down the words of Jeremiah, had been burned by the king, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,
Tukun Tokosra Jehoiakim el esukak book limlim se ma nga sap Baruch elan simusla kas nukewa nga fahk nu sel, na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik
28 Take another book and put down in it all the words which were in the first book, which Jehoiakim, king of Judah, put into the fire.
ngan eis sie pac book limlim, ac simusla kas nukewa ma oan in book se meet ah.
29 And about Jehoiakim, king of Judah, you are to say, This is what the Lord has said: You have put this book into the fire, saying, Why have you put in it that the king of Babylon will certainly come, causing the destruction of this land and putting an end to every man and beast in it?
LEUM GOD El sapkin nu sik in fahk nu sel tokosra, “Kom esukak book limlim sac, ac kom tuh siyuk sel Jeremiah lah efu ku el simusla mu tokosra lun Babylonia ac tuku ac kunausla facl se inge ac onela mwet fac wi pac ma orakrak.
30 For this reason the Lord has said of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, He will have no son to take his place on the seat of David: his dead body will be put out to undergo the heat of the day and the cold of the night.
Ke ma inge, Tokosra Jehoiakim, nga, LEUM GOD, fahk nu sum lah wangin sin fwilin tulik nutum ac fah leum fin tokosrai lal David. Mano misa lom ac fah sisila in oan ye fol lun faht ke len, ac ye ohu lun fong uh.
31 And I will send punishment on him and on his seed and on his servants for their evil-doing; I will send on them and on the people of Jerusalem and the men of Judah, all the evil which I said against them, but they did not give ear.
Nga fah kalyei kom ac fwilin tulik nutum ac mwet leum lom, ke sripen orekma koluk nukewa kowos oru. Kowos, oayapa mwet Jerusalem ac mwet Judah, tiana porongo kas in sensenkakin luk nu suwos. Ouinge nga fah use nu fowos nukewa mwe ongoiya ma nga fahk tari mu nga ac oru.”
32 Then Jeremiah took another book, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who put down in it, from the mouth of Jeremiah, all the words of the book which had been burned in the fire by Jehoiakim, king of Judah: and in addition a number of other words of the same sort.
Na nga eis sie pac book limlim ac sang nu sel Baruch mwet sim luk, ac el simusla kas nukewa ma nga fahk nu sel. El simusla ma nukewa ma tuh oan in book limlim se ma Tokosra Jehoiakim el tuh esukak, wi pac kutu kas ma nga sang laesla.
