< Deuteronomy 26 >

1 Now when you have come into the land which the Lord is giving you for your heritage, and you have made it yours and are living in it;
Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, “ʻOka ke ka hoko ki he fonua ʻaia ʻoku foaki kiate koe ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ko ho tofiʻa, pea kuo ke maʻu ia, mo ke nofo ki ai;
2 You are to take a part of the first-fruits of the earth, which you get from the land which the Lord your God is giving you, and put it in a basket, and go to the place marked out by the Lord your God, as the resting-place of his name.
Te ke toʻo ai mei he ngaahi ʻuluaki fua kotoa pē ʻoe fonua ʻaia te ke ʻomi mei ho fonua ʻaia ʻoku foaki kiate koe ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ʻe faʻo ia ki he kato, pea te ke ʻalu ki he potu ʻaia ʻe fili ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ke ʻai ki ai hono huafa.
3 And you are to come to him who is priest at that time, and say to him, I give witness today before the Lord your God, that I have come into the land which the Lord made an oath to our fathers to give us.
Pea te ke ʻalu ki he taulaʻeiki ʻaia ʻoku ʻi ai ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia, pea ke pehē kiate ia, ‘ʻOku ou fakahā he ʻaho ni kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, kuo u haʻu mei he fonua ʻaia naʻe fuakava ai ʻa Sihova ki heʻetau ngaahi tamai ke foaki kiate kitautolu.’
4 Then the priest will take the basket from your hand and put it down in front of the altar of the Lord your God.
Pea ʻe toʻo ʻe he taulaʻeiki ʻae kato mei ho nima, pea ʻe tuku ia ʻi he haʻohaʻonga ʻoe feilaulauʻanga kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua.
5 And these are the words which you will say before the Lord your God: My father was a wandering Aramaean, and he went down with a small number of people into Egypt; there he became a great and strong nation:
Pea te ke lea ʻo pehē, ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ‘Ko ʻeku tamai ko e Silia tei mate, pea naʻe ʻalu hifo ia mo e tokosiʻi ki ʻIsipite, pea ʻāunofo ai, pea naʻe tupu ai ia ko e puleʻanga lahi, mo mālohi, mo tokolahi:
6 And the Egyptians were cruel to us, crushing us under a hard yoke:
Pea naʻe fai kovi kiate kimautolu ʻae kakai ʻIsipite, ʻo tautea ʻakimautolu, ʻo hilifaki kiate kimautolu ʻae ngāue fakapōpula lahi:
7 And our cry went up to the Lord, the God of our fathers, and the Lord's ear was open to the voice of our cry, and his eyes took note of our grief and the crushing weight of our work:
Pea ʻi heʻemau tangi kia Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻemau ngaahi tamai, naʻe tokanga ʻa Sihova ki homau leʻo, pea naʻe ʻafio ia ki heʻemau ngaahi mamahi, mo ʻemau ngāue, mo homau fakafiuʻi:
8 And the Lord took us out of Egypt with a strong hand and a stretched-out arm, with works of power and signs and wonders:
Pea naʻe ʻomi ʻe Sihova ʻakimautolu mei ʻIsipite ʻaki ʻae nima māfimafi, mo e nima kuo mafao atu, pea ʻi he ngaahi meʻa fakamanavahē lahi, mo e ngaahi fakaʻilonga, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakaofo:
9 And he has been our guide to this place, and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Pea kuo ne ʻomi ʻakimautolu ki he potu ni, pea kuo ne foaki kiate kimautolu ʻae fonua ni, ko e fonua ʻoku mahu tāfea ʻi he huʻahuhū mo e honi.
10 So now, I have come here with the first of the fruits of the earth which you, O Lord, have given me. Then you will put it down before the Lord your God and give him worship:
Pea ko eni, vakai, kuo u ʻomi ʻae ʻuluaki fua ʻoe fonua ʻaia kuo ke foaki ʻe koe, ʻE Sihova, kiate au.’ “Pea te ke fokotuʻu ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, pea te ke lotu ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua:
11 And you will have joy in every good thing which the Lord your God has given to you and to your family; and the Levite, and the man from a strange land who is with you, will take part in your joy.
Pea te ke fiefia ʻi he lelei kotoa pē ʻaia ʻoku foaki ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua kiate koe, pea ki ho fale, ʻa koe, mo e Livai, mo e muli ʻoku ʻiate kimoutolu.
12 When you have taken out a tenth from the tenth of all your produce in the third year, which is the year when this has to be done, give it to the Levite, and the man from a strange land, and the child without a father, and the widow, so that they may have food in your towns and be full;
“He hili hao tukuhau ʻi hono hongofulu ʻoe vahe ʻo hoʻo meʻa kotoa pē ʻi hono tolu ʻoe taʻu, ʻaia ko e taʻu ʻoe tukuhau, pea kuo ke ʻatu ia ki he kau Livai, mo e muli, mo e tamai mate, mo e uitou, koeʻuhi kenau kai ʻi hoʻo ngaahi kolo, pea mākona;
13 And say before the Lord your God, I have taken all the holy things out of my house and have given them to the Levite, and the man from a strange land, and him who has no father, and the widow, as you have given me orders: I have kept in mind all your orders, in nothing have I gone against them:
Pea te ke toki lea koe ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, Kuo u ʻomi ʻae ngaahi meʻa tapu mei hoku fale, pea kuo u foaki foki ia ki he kau Livai, pea ki he muli, mo e tamai mate, mo e uitou, ʻo hangē ko hoʻo ngaahi fekau kotoa pē ʻaia naʻa ke fekau kiate au: naʻe ʻikai te u talangataʻa ki hoʻo fekau, pea naʻe ʻikai te u fakangalongaloʻi ia:
14 No part of these things has been used for food in a time of weeping, or put away when I was unclean, or given for the dead: I have given ear to the voice of the Lord my God, and have done all you have given me orders to do.
Naʻe ʻikai te u kai mei ai ʻi heʻeku mamahi, pea naʻe ʻikai siʻi te u toʻo ha meʻa mei ai ʻi he ngāue taʻemaʻa, pe ʻatu ha meʻa mei ai maʻae kakai mate: ka kuo u tokanga ki he leʻo ʻo Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, pea kuo u fai ʻo fakatatau ki he ngaahi meʻa kuo ke fekau kiate au.
15 So, looking down from your holy place in heaven, send your blessing on your people Israel and on the land which you have given us, as you said in your oath to our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.
‌ʻAfio hifo mei ho ʻafioʻanga māʻoniʻoni mei he langi, pea tāpuaki ho kakai ko ʻIsileli, mo e fonua kuo ke foaki mai kiate kimautolu, ʻo hangē ko hoʻo fuakava ki heʻemau ngaahi tamai, ko e fonua ʻoku mahutāfea ʻi he huʻahuhu mo e honi.
16 Today the Lord your God gives you orders to keep all these laws and decisions: so then keep and do them with all your heart and all your soul.
“Kuo fekau kiate koe he ʻaho ni ʻe Sihova ko ho ʻOtua ke ke fai ʻae ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni mo e ngaahi fakamaau: ko ia ke ke tauhi mo ke fai ki ai ʻaki ho loto kotoa, mo ho laumālie kotoa.
17 Today you have given witness that the Lord is your God, and that you will go in his ways and keep his laws and his orders and his decisions and give ear to his voice:
Kuo ke fakahā he ʻaho ni ko Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, pea te ke ʻalu ʻi hono ngaahi hala, mo ke tauhi ʻene ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni, mo ʻene ngaahi fekau, mo ʻene ngaahi fakamaau, pea te ke tokanga ki hono leʻo:
18 And the Lord has made it clear this day that you are a special people to him, as he gave you his word; and that you are to keep all his orders;
Pea kuo fakahā ʻe Sihova he ʻaho ni ko ʻene kakai mahuʻinga ʻakimoutolu, ʻo hangē ko ʻene talaʻofa kiate koe, pea koeʻuhi ke ke tauhi ʻene ngaahi fekau kotoa pē;
19 And that he will make you high over all the nations he has made, in praise, in name, and in honour, and that you are to be a holy people to the Lord your God as he has said.
Pea ke ne ngaohi koe ke ke māʻolunga lahi ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē kuo ne ngaohi, ʻi he ongoongolelei, pea ʻi he hingoa, pea ʻi he fakaʻapaʻapa; pea koeʻuhi ke ke hoko ko e kakai māʻoniʻoni kia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua, ʻo hangē ko ʻene folofola.
