2 Chronicles 15

1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:

Y vino el espíritu de Dios sobre Azarías hijo de Obed;

2 and he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: Jehovah is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

y salió al encuentro a Asa, y le dijo: Oídme, Asa, y todo Judá y Benjamín: El SEÑOR es con vosotros, si vosotros fueres con él; y si le buscareis, será hallado de vosotros; mas si le dejareis, él también os dejará.

3 Now for a long season Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law:

Muchos días ha estado Israel sin verdadero Dios, y sin sacerdote, y sin enseñador, y sin ley;

4 but when in their distress they turned unto Jehovah, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.

mas cuando con su tribulación se convirtieron al SEÑOR Dios de Israel, y le buscaron, él fue hallado de ellos.

5 And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in; but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the lands.

En aquellos tiempos no hubo paz, ni para el que entraba, ni para el que salía, sino muchas destrucciones sobre todos los habitadores de las tierras.

6 And they were broken in pieces, nation against nation, and city against city; for God did vex them with all adversity.

Y la una gente destruía a la otra, y una ciudad a otra; porque Dios los conturbó con todas calamidades.

7 But be ye strong, and let not your hands be slack; for your work shall be rewarded.

Esforzaos pues vosotros, y no descoyunten vuestras manos; que salario hay para vuestra obra.

8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill-country of Ephraim; and he renewed the altar of Jehovah, that was before the porch of Jehovah.

Y cuando oyó Asa las palabras y profecía de Obed profeta, fue confortado, y quitó las abominaciones de toda la tierra de Judá y de Benjamín, y de todas las ciudades que él había tomado en el monte de Efraín; y reparó el altar del SEÑOR que estaba delante del pórtico del SEÑOR.

9 And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and them that sojourned with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that Jehovah his God was with him.

E hizo juntar a todo Judá y Benjamín, y con ellos los extranjeros de Efraín, y de Manasés, y de Simeón; porque muchos de Israel se habían pasado a él, viendo que el SEÑOR su Dios era con él.

10 So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

Congregaron, pues, en Jerusalén en el mes tercero, a los quince años del reino de Asa.

11 And they sacrificed unto Jehovah in that day, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.

Y en aquel mismo día sacrificaron al SEÑOR, de los despojos que habían traído, setecientos bueyes y siete mil ovejas.

12 And they entered into the covenant to seek Jehovah, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and with all their soul;

Y entraron en concierto de que buscarían al SEÑOR el Dios de sus padres, de todo su corazón y de toda su alma;

13 and that whosoever would not seek Jehovah, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

y que cualquiera que no buscase al SEÑOR el Dios de Israel, muriese, grande o pequeño, hombre o mujer.

14 And they sware unto Jehovah with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

Y juraron al SEÑOR con gran voz y júbilo, a son de trompetas y de bocinas.

15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath; for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and Jehovah gave them rest round about.

Del cual juramento todos los de Judá se alegraron; porque de todo su corazón lo juraban, y de toda su voluntad lo buscaban; y fue hallado de ellos; y les dio el SEÑOR reposo de todas partes.

16 And also Maacah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and made dust of it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.

Y aun a Maaca madre del rey Asa, él mismo la depuso que no fuese reina, porque había hecho un ídolo en el bosque; y Asa deshizo su ídolo, y lo desmenuzó, y lo quemó en el arroyo de Cedrón.

17 But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.

Mas con todo eso los altos no eran quitados de Israel, aunque el corazón de Asa fue perfecto mientras vivió.

18 And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

Y metió en la Casa de Dios lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él había consagrado, plata y oro y vasos.

19 And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.

Y no hubo guerra hasta los treinta y cinco años del reinado de Asa.
