Matthew 10
1 He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਆਹੂਯਾਮੇਧ੍ਯਭੂਤਾਨ੍ ਤ੍ਯਾਜਯਿਤੁੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਰੋਗਾਨ੍ ਪੀਡਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਸ਼ਮਯਿਤੁੰ ਤੇਭ੍ਯਃ ਸਾਮਰ੍ਥ੍ਯਮਦਾਤ੍|
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;
ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਮਾਨ੍ਯੇਤਾਨਿ| ਪ੍ਰਥਮੰ ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨ੍ ਯੰ ਪਿਤਰੰ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ, ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਹਜ ਆਨ੍ਦ੍ਰਿਯਃ, ਸਿਵਦਿਯਸ੍ਯ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਯਾਕੂਬ੍
3 Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; Lebbaeus, who was also called Thaddaeus;
ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਹਜੋ ਯੋਹਨ੍; ਫਿਲਿਪ੍ ਬਰ੍ਥਲਮਯ੍ ਥੋਮਾਃ ਕਰਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਹੀ ਮਥਿਃ, ਆਲ੍ਫੇਯਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਯਾਕੂਬ੍,
4 Simon the Zealot; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
ਕਿਨਾਨੀਯਃ ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨ੍, ਯ ਈਸ਼਼੍ਕਰਿਯੋਤੀਯਯਿਹੂਦਾਃ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੰ ਪਰਕਰੇ(ਅ)ਰ੍ਪਯਤ੍|
5 Jesus sent these twelve out and commanded them, saying, “Do not go among the Gentiles, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans.
ਏਤਾਨ੍ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ਯਨ੍ ਇਤ੍ਯਾਜ੍ਞਾਪਯਤ੍, ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਨ੍ਯਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਪਦਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੇਮਿਰੋਣੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨਗਰਞ੍ਚ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਸ਼੍ਯੇ
6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
ਇਸ੍ਰਾਯੇਲ੍ਗੋਤ੍ਰਸ੍ਯ ਹਾਰਿਤਾ ਯੇ ਯੇ ਮੇਸ਼਼ਾਸ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੇਵ ਸਮੀਪੰ ਯਾਤ|
7 As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’
ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਸ੍ਯ ਰਾਜਤ੍ਵੰ ਸਵਿਧਮਭਵਤ੍, ਏਤਾਂ ਕਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਯਤ|
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
ਆਮਯਗ੍ਰਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਥਾਨ੍ ਕੁਰੁਤ, ਕੁਸ਼਼੍ਠਿਨਃ ਪਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਕੁਰੁਤ, ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਜੀਵਯਤ, ਭੂਤਾਨ੍ ਤ੍ਯਾਜਯਤ, ਵਿਨਾ ਮੂਲ੍ਯੰ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਲਭਧ੍ਵੰ ਵਿਨੈਵ ਮੂਲ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਰਾਣਯਤ|
9 Do not take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ੍ਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕਟਿਬਨ੍ਧੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਣਰੂਪ੍ਯਤਾਮ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲੀਤ|
10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
ਅਨ੍ਯੱਚ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾਯੈ ਚੇਲਸਮ੍ਪੁਟੰ ਵਾ ਦ੍ਵਿਤੀਯਵਸਨੰ ਵਾ ਪਾਦੁਕੇ ਵਾ ਯਸ਼਼੍ਟਿਃ, ਏਤਾਨ੍ ਮਾ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲੀਤ, ਯਤਃ ਕਾਰ੍ੱਯਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ ਭਰ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਯੋਗ੍ਯੋ ਭਵਤਿ|
11 Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go on.
ਅਪਰੰ ਯੂਯੰ ਯਤ੍ ਪੁਰੰ ਯਞ੍ਚ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਸ਼ਥ, ਤਤ੍ਰ ਯੋ ਜਨੋ ਯੋਗ੍ਯਪਾਤ੍ਰੰ ਤਮਵਗਤ੍ਯ ਯਾਨਕਾਲੰ ਯਾਵਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤ|
12 As you enter into the household, greet it.
ਯਦਾ ਯੂਯੰ ਤਦ੍ਗੇਹੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਸ਼ਥ, ਤਦਾ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼ੰ ਵਦਤ|
13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
ਯਦਿ ਸ ਯੋਗ੍ਯਪਾਤ੍ਰੰ ਭਵਤਿ, ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਤਤ੍ਕਲ੍ਯਾਣੰ ਤਸ੍ਮੈ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ, ਨੋਚੇਤ੍ ਸਾਸ਼ੀਰ੍ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਭ੍ਯਮੇਵ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
14 Whoever does not receive you or hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੇ ਜਨਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਨ ਵਿਦਧਤਿ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕਥਾਞ੍ਚ ਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣ੍ਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਗੇਹਾਤ੍ ਪੁਰਾਦ੍ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ੍ਥਾਨਕਾਲੇ ਸ੍ਵਪਦੂਲੀਃ ਪਾਤਯਤ|
15 Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਤਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਚ੍ਮਿ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਿਨੇ ਤਤ੍ਪੁਰਸ੍ਯ ਦਸ਼ਾਤਃ ਸਿਦੋਮਮੋਰਾਪੁਰਯੋਰ੍ਦਸ਼ਾ ਸਹ੍ਯਤਰਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
ਪਸ਼੍ਯਤ, ਵ੍ਰੁʼਕਯੂਥਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਮੇਸ਼਼ਃ ਯਥਾਵਿਸ੍ਤਥਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਣੋਮਿ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਯੂਯਮ੍ ਅਹਿਰਿਵ ਸਤਰ੍ਕਾਃ ਕਪੋਤਾਇਵਾਹਿੰਸਕਾ ਭਵਤ|
17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
ਨ੍ਰੁʼਭ੍ਯਃ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਾ ਭਵਤ; ਯਤਸ੍ਤੈ ਰ੍ਯੂਯੰ ਰਾਜਸੰਸਦਿ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਭਜਨਗੇਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ|
18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
ਯੂਯੰ ਮੰਨਾਮਹੇਤੋਃ ਸ਼ਾਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੁʼਣਾਂ ਰਾਜ੍ਞਾਞ੍ਚ ਸਮਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੰ ਤਾਨਨ੍ਯਦੇਸ਼ਿਨਸ਼੍ਚਾਧਿ ਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਤ੍ਵਾਰ੍ਥਮਾਨੇਸ਼਼੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ|
19 But when they deliver you up, do not be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਿੱਥੰ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਿਤਾ ਯੂਯੰ ਕਥੰ ਕਿਮੁੱਤਰੰ ਵਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਥ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਮਾ ਚਿਨ੍ਤਯਤ, ਯਤਸ੍ਤਦਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿ ਰ੍ਯਦ੍ ਵਕ੍ਤਵ੍ਯੰ ਤਤ੍ ਤੱਦਣ੍ਡੇ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਨ੍ਮਨਃ ਸੁ ਸਮੁਪਸ੍ਥਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ|
20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
ਯਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤਦਾ ਯੋ ਵਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ ਸ ਨ ਯੂਯੰ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮਨ੍ਤਰਸ੍ਥਃ ਪਿਤ੍ਰਾਤ੍ਮਾ|
21 “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
ਸਹਜਃ ਸਹਜੰ ਤਾਤਃ ਸੁਤਞ੍ਚ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤੌ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ, ਅਪਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਪਿਤ੍ਰੋ ਰ੍ਵਿਪਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੀਭੂਯ ਤੌ ਘਾਤਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ|
22 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
ਮੰਨਮਹੇਤੋਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਜਨਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਰੁʼਤੀਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤੇ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਃ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ੰ ਯਾਵਦ੍ ਧੈਰ੍ੱਯੰ ਘ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਥਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ, ਸ ਤ੍ਰਾਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ|
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.
ਤੈ ਰ੍ਯਦਾ ਯੂਯਮੇਕਪੁਰੇ ਤਾਡਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ, ਤਦਾ ਯੂਯਮਨ੍ਯਪੁਰੰ ਪਲਾਯਧ੍ਵੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਤਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਚ੍ਮਿ ਯਾਵਨ੍ਮਨੁਜਸੁਤੋ ਨੈਤਿ ਤਾਵਦ੍ ਇਸ੍ਰਾਯੇਲ੍ਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਸਰ੍ੱਵਨਗਰਭ੍ਰਮਣੰ ਸਮਾਪਯਿਤੁੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਥ|
24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
ਗੁਰੋਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੋ ਨ ਮਹਾਨ੍, ਪ੍ਰਭੋਰ੍ਦਾਸੋ ਨ ਮਹਾਨ੍|
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
ਯਦਿ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੋ ਨਿਜਗੁਰੋ ਰ੍ਦਾਸਸ਼੍ਚ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਭੋਃ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਭਵਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਤਦ੍ ਯਥੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੰ| ਚੇੱਤੈਰ੍ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹਪਤਿਰ੍ਭੂਤਰਾਜ ਉਚ੍ਯਤੇ, ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਃ ਕਿੰ ਤਥਾ ਨ ਵਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤੇ?
26 Therefore do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਯੂਯੰ ਮਾ ਬਿਭੀਤ, ਯਤੋ ਯੰਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ, ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਕ੍ ਛਾਦਿਤੰ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ, ਯੱਚ ਨ ਵ੍ਯਞ੍ਚਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ, ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਗ੍ ਗੁਪ੍ਤੰ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ|
27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
ਯਦਹੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਤਮਸਿ ਵਚ੍ਮਿ ਤਦ੍ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿਰ੍ਦੀਪ੍ਤੌ ਕਥ੍ਯਤਾਂ; ਕਰ੍ਣਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਯਤ੍ ਸ਼੍ਰੂਯਤੇ ਤਦ੍ ਗੇਹੋਪਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ੍ੱਯਤਾਂ|
28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna (Geenna g1067).
ਯੇ ਕਾਯੰ ਹਨ੍ਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੁਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਨਾਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ, ਤੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਮਾ ਭੈਸ਼਼੍ਟ; ਯਃ ਕਾਯਾਤ੍ਮਾਨੌ ਨਿਰਯੇ ਨਾਸ਼ਯਿਤੁੰ, ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ, ਤਤੋ ਬਿਭੀਤ| (Geenna g1067)
29 “Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.
ਦ੍ਵੌ ਚਟਕੌ ਕਿਮੇਕਤਾਮ੍ਰਮੁਦ੍ਰਯਾ ਨ ਵਿਕ੍ਰੀਯੇਤੇ? ਤਥਾਪਿ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮੱਤਾਤਾਨੁਮਤਿੰ ਵਿਨਾ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੇਕੋਪਿ ਭੁਵਿ ਨ ਪਤਤਿ|
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮੱਛਿਰਸਾਂ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਕਚਾ ਗਣਿਤਾਂਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ|
31 Therefore do not be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
ਅਤੋ ਮਾ ਬਿਭੀਤ, ਯੂਯੰ ਬਹੁਚਟਕੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਬਹੁਮੂਲ੍ਯਾਃ|
32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.
ਯੋ ਮਨੁਜਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਨ੍ਮਾਮਙ੍ਗੀਕੁਰੁਤੇ ਤਮਹੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਸ੍ਥਤਾਤਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਦਙ੍ਗੀਕਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੇ|
33 But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.
ਪ੍ਰੁʼਥ੍ਵ੍ਯਾਮਹੰ ਸ਼ਾਨ੍ਤਿੰ ਦਾਤੁਮਾਗਤਇਤਿ ਮਾਨੁਭਵਤ, ਸ਼ਾਨ੍ਤਿੰ ਦਾਤੁੰ ਨ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਸਿੰ|
34 “Do not think that I came to send peace on the earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword.
ਪਿਤ੍ਰੁʼਮਾਤ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼੍ਚਸ਼੍ਰੂਭਿਃ ਸਾਕੰ ਸੁਤਸੁਤਾਬਧੂ ਰ੍ਵਿਰੋਧਯਿਤੁਞ੍ਚਾਗਤੇਸ੍ਮਿ|
35 For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
ਤਤਃ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਪਰਿਵਾਰਏਵ ਨ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ਤ੍ਰੁ ਰ੍ਭਵਿਤਾ|
36 A man’s foes will be those of his own household.
ਯਃ ਪਿਤਰਿ ਮਾਤਰਿ ਵਾ ਮੱਤੋਧਿਕੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਯਤੇ, ਸ ਨ ਮਦਰ੍ਹਃ;
37 He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
ਯਸ਼੍ਚ ਸੁਤੇ ਸੁਤਾਯਾਂ ਵਾ ਮੱਤੋਧਿਕੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਯਤੇ, ਸੇਪਿ ਨ ਮਦਰ੍ਹਃ|
38 He who does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.
ਯਃ ਸ੍ਵਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੰ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲਨ੍ ਮਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾੰਨੈਤਿ, ਸੇਪਿ ਨ ਮਦਰ੍ਹਃ|
39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
ਯਃ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਨਵਤਿ, ਸ ਤਾਨ੍ ਹਾਰਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ, ਯਸ੍ਤੁ ਮਤ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਨ੍ ਹਾਰਯਤਿ, ਸ ਤਾਨਵਤਿ|
40 “He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
ਯੋ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਦਧਾਤਿ, ਸ ਮਮਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਦਧਾਤਿ, ਯਸ਼੍ਚ ਮਮਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਦਧਾਤਿ, ਸ ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕਸ੍ਯਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਦਧਾਤਿ|
41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
ਯੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦੀਤਿ ਜ੍ਞਾਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਧੱਤੇ, ਸ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨਃ ਫਲੰ ਲਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤੇ, ਯਸ਼੍ਚ ਧਾਰ੍ੰਮਿਕ ਇਤਿ ਵਿਦਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਤਿਥ੍ਯੰ ਵਿਧੱਤੇ ਸ ਧਾਰ੍ੰਮਿਕਮਾਨਵਸ੍ਯ ਫਲੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤਿ|
42 Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.”
