John 3
1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
E havia entre os phariseos um homem, chamado Nicodemos, principe dos judeos.
2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
Este foi ter de noite com Jesus, e disse-lhe: Rabbi, bem sabemos que és Mestre, vindo de Deus: porque ninguem pode fazer estes signaes que tu fazes, se Deus não fôr com elle.
3 Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see God’s Kingdom.”
Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhe: Na verdade, na verdade te digo que aquelle que não nascer de novo, não pode vêr o reino de Deus.
4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
Disse-lhe Nicodemos: Como pode um homem nascer, sendo velho? porventura pode tornar a entrar no ventre de sua mãe, e nascer?
5 Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter into God’s Kingdom.
Jesus respondeu: Na verdade, na verdade, te digo que aquelle que não nascer da agua e do Espirito não pode entrar no reino de Deus,
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
O que é nascido da carne é carne, e o que é nascido do Espirito é espirito.
7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’
Não te maravilhes de te ter dito: Necessario vos é nascer de novo.
8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
O vento assopra onde quer, e ouves a sua voz; porém não sabes d'onde vem, nem para onde vae; assim é todo aquelle que é nascido do Espirito.
9 Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
Nicodemos respondeu, e disse-lhe: Como se pode fazer isto?
10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not understand these things?
Jesus respondeu, e disse-lhe: Tu és mestre de Israel, e não sabes isto?
11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know and testify of that which we have seen, and you do not receive our witness.
Na verdade, na verdade te digo que dizemos o que sabemos e testificamos o que vimos; e não acceitaes o nosso testemunho.
12 If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
Se vos fallei de coisas terrestres, e não crestes, como crereis, se vos fallar das celestiaes?
13 No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
E ninguem subiu ao céu, senão o que desceu do céu, a saber, o Filho do homem, que está no céu
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
E, como Moysés levantou a serpente no deserto, assim importa que o Filho do homem seja levantado;
Para que todo aquelle que n'elle crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have consummate (aiōnios g166) life.
Porque Deus amou o mundo de tal maneira, que deu o seu Filho unigenito, para que todo aquelle que n'elle crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
Porque Deus enviou o seu Filho ao mundo, não para que condemnasse o mundo, mas para que o mundo fosse salvo por elle.
18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
Quem crê n'elle não é condemnado; mas quem não crê já está condemnado; porquanto não crê no nome do Unigenito Filho de Deus.
19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.
E a condemnação é esta: Que a luz veiu ao mundo, e os homens amaram mais as trevas do que a luz, porque as suas obras eram más.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
Porque todo aquelle que faz o mal aborrece a luz, e não vem para a luz, para que as suas obras não sejam arguidas.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
Mas quem obra a verdade vem para a luz, afim de que as suas obras sejam manifestas, porque são feitas em Deus.
22 After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them and baptized.
Depois d'isto foi Jesus com os seus discipulos para a terra da Judea; e estava ali com elles, e baptizava.
23 John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came and were baptized;
Ora João baptizava tambem em Enon, junto a Salim, porquanto havia ali muitas aguas; e vinham ali, e eram baptizados.
24 for John was not yet thrown into prison.
Porque ainda João não tinha sido lançado na prisão.
25 Therefore a dispute arose on the part of John’s disciples with some Jews about purification.
Houve pois uma questão entre os discipulos de João e os judeos, ácerca da purificação.
26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”
E foram ter com João, e disseram-lhe: Rabbi, aquelle que estava comtigo além do Jordão, do qual tu déste testemunho, eis que baptiza, e todos vão ter com elle
27 John answered, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
João respondeu, e disse: O homem não pode receber coisa alguma, se lhe não fôr dada do céu
28 You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
Vós mesmos me sois testemunhas de que disse: Eu não sou o Christo, mas sou enviado adiante d'elle.
29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore my joy is made full.
Aquelle que tem a esposa é o esposo; mas o amigo do esposo, que lhe assiste e o ouve, alegra-se muito com a voz do esposo. Assim pois já este meu gozo está cumprido.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
A elle convem crescer, porém a mim diminuir.
31 “He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
Aquelle que vem de cima é sobre todos: aquelle que vem da terra é da terra e falla da terra. Aquelle que vem do céu é sobre todos.
32 What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
E aquillo que viu e ouviu isso testifica; e ninguem acceita o seu testemunho.
33 He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
Aquelle que acceitou o seu testemunho, esse sellou que Deus é verdadeiro.
34 For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
Porque aquelle que Deus enviou falla as palavras de Deus; porque não lhe dá Deus o Espirito por medida.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
O Pae ama o Filho, e todas as coisas entregou nas suas mãos.
36 One who believes in the Son has consummate (aiōnios g166) life, but one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."
Aquelle que crê no Filho tem a vida eterna; porém aquelle que não crê no Filho não verá a vida; mas a ira de Deus sobre elle permanece. (aiōnios g166)
