John 16

1 “I have said these things to you so that you would not be caused to stumble.

൧നിങ്ങൾ ഇടറിപ്പോകാതിരിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2 They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

൨തീർച്ചയായും അവർ നിങ്ങളെ പള്ളിയിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കും; നിങ്ങളെ കൊല്ലുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ദൈവത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നല്ലപ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു വിചാരിക്കുന്ന നാഴിക വരുന്നു.

3 They will do these things because they have not known the Father nor me.

൩അവർ പിതാവിനെയോ എന്നെയോ അറിയാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യും.

4 But I have told you these things so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I did not tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.

൪അത് സംഭവിക്കുന്ന നാഴിക വരുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അത് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ ഓർക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആരംഭത്തിൽ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയാതിരുന്നത് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ.

5 But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’

൫ഇപ്പോഴോ ഞാൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നു: എന്നിട്ടും നീ എവിടെ പോകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ആരും എന്നോട് ചോദിക്കുന്നില്ല.

6 But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.

൬എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ദുഃഖം നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

൭എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സത്യം പറയുന്നു; ഞാൻ പോകുന്നത് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നല്ലത്; ഞാൻ പോകുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ കാര്യസ്ഥൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വരികയില്ല; ഞാൻ പോയാലോ അവനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയയ്ക്കും.

8 When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;

൮അവൻ വന്നു പാപത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നീതിയെക്കുറിച്ചും ന്യായവിധിയെക്കുറിച്ചും ലോകത്തിനു ബോധം വരുത്തും;

9 about sin, because they do not believe in me;

൯അവർ എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ട് പാപത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും

10 about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you will not see me any more;

൧൦ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകയും നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി എന്നെ കാണാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീതിയെക്കുറിച്ചും

11 about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.

൧൧ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭു വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കകൊണ്ട് ന്യായവിധിയെക്കുറിച്ചും ലോകത്തിനു ബോധ്യം വരുത്തും.

12 “I still have many things to tell you, but you cannot bear them now.

൧൨എനിക്ക് വളരെ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു പറവാൻ ഉണ്ട്; എന്നാൽ അവയെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇപ്പോൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയില്ല.

13 However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.

൧൩സത്യത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് വരുമ്പോഴോ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ സകല സത്യത്തിലും വഴിനടത്തും; അവൻ സ്വയമായി സംസാരിക്കാതെ താൻ കേൾക്കുന്നത് സംസാരിക്കുകയും വരുവാനുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അറിയിച്ചുതരികയും ചെയ്യും.

14 He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine and will declare it to you.

൧൪അവൻ എനിക്കുള്ളതിൽനിന്ന് എടുത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അറിയിച്ചുതരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തും.

15 All things that the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine and will declare it to you.

൧൫പിതാവിനുള്ളത് ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളത്; അതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവൻ എനിക്കുള്ളതിൽ നിന്നു എടുത്തു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അറിയിച്ചുതരും എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞത്.

16 “A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”

൧൬കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല; പിന്നെയും കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കാണും.

17 Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”

൧൭അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ: കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല; പിന്നെയും കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് എന്നെ കാണും എന്നും പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നു എന്നും അവൻ നമ്മോടു ഈ പറയുന്നത് എന്ത് എന്നു തമ്മിൽ ചോദിച്ചു.

18 They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what he is saying.”

൧൮‘കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട്’ എന്നു ഈ പറയുന്നത് എന്താകുന്നു? അവൻ എന്ത് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നും അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

19 Therefore Jesus perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’?

൧൯അവർ തന്നോട് ചോദിപ്പാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞ് യേശു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല; പിന്നെയും കുറച്ചുസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട് എന്നെ കാണും എന്നു ഞാൻ പറകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽതമ്മിൽ ചോദിക്കുന്നുവോ?

20 Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

൨൦ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ കരഞ്ഞു വിലപിക്കും; എന്നാൽ ലോകം സന്തോഷിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ ദുഃഖിക്കും; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുഃഖം സന്തോഷമായിത്തീരും.

21 A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she does not remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.

൨൧ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്ക് പ്രസവവേദന വരുമ്പോൾ തന്റെ പ്രസവസമയം വന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവൾക്ക് ദുഃഖം ഉണ്ട്; എന്നാൽ കുഞ്ഞിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചശേഷമോ ഒരു കുഞ്ഞ് ലോകത്തിലേക്കു പിറന്നതിന്റെ സന്തോഷംനിമിത്തം അവൾ തന്റെ വേദന പിന്നെ ഓർക്കുന്നില്ല.

22 Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

൨൨അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾക്കും ഇപ്പോൾ ദുഃഖം ഉണ്ട് എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ പിന്നെയും നിങ്ങളെ കാണും; നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം സന്തോഷിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തോഷം ആരും നിങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് എടുത്തുകളയുകയുമില്ല.

23 “In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

൨൩അന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോട് ഒരു ചോദ്യവും ചോദിക്കയില്ല. ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ പിതാവിനോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും അവൻ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തരും.

24 Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

൨൪ഇന്നുവരെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഒന്നും അപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; അപേക്ഷിക്കുവിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ലഭിക്കും അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തോഷം പൂർണ്ണമാകും.

25 “I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.

൨൫ഇതു ഞാൻ സദൃശമായി നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ ഇനി സദൃശമായി നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കാതെ പിതാവിനെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് സ്പഷ്ടമായി നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്ന നാഴിക വരുന്നു.

26 In that day you will ask in my name; and I do not say to you that I will pray to the Father for you,

൨൬അന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അപേക്ഷിക്കും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി പിതാവിനോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നില്ല.

27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from God.

൨൭നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിച്ച്, ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ട് പിതാവുതാനും നിങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

28 I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

൨൮ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ലോകത്തിൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെയും ലോകത്തെ വിട്ടു പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നു.

29 His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.

൨൯അതിന് അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ: ഇപ്പോൾ നീ സദൃശം ഒന്നും പറയാതെ സ്പഷ്ടമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

30 Now we know that you know all things, and do not need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”

൩൦നീ സകലവും അറിയുന്നു എന്നും ആരും നിന്നോട് ചോദിപ്പാൻ നിനക്ക് ആവശ്യം ഇല്ല എന്നും ഞങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ അറിയുന്നു; ഇതിനാൽ നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്ന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe?

൩൧യേശു അവരോട്: ഇപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ?

32 Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

൩൨നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ സ്വന്തത്തിലേക്ക് ചിതറിപ്പോകയും എന്നെ ഏകനായി വിടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നാഴിക വരുന്നു; വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു; പിതാവ് എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഏകനല്ലതാനും.

33 I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

൩൩നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്നിൽ സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന് ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ലോകത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കഷ്ടങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്; എങ്കിലും ധൈര്യപ്പെടുവിൻ; ഞാൻ ലോകത്തെ ജയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
