James 3
1 Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
౧నా సోదరులారా, ఉపదేశకులమైన మనకు కఠినమైన తీర్పు ఉందని ఎరిగి మీలో ఎక్కువమంది ఉపదేశం చేసేవారుగా ఉండకండి.
2 For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who does not stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
౨మనమందరం అనేక విషయాల్లో తప్పిపోతున్నాం. తన మాటలలో తప్పిపోని వాడు లోపం లేనివాడుగా ఉండి తన శరీరాన్ని కూడా అదుపులో పెట్టుకోగలుగుతాడు.
3 Indeed, we put bits into the horses’ mouths so that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body.
౩గుర్రాలు మనకు లోబడడానికి దాని నోటికి కళ్ళెం పెట్టి, దాని శరీరం అంతా మనకు లోబడేలా చేస్తాం కదా!
4 Behold, the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
౪ఓడలు పెద్దవిగా ఉన్నా, బలమైన గాలులతో ముందుకు సాగుతున్నా, ఆ ఓడ నడిపేవాడు చిన్న చుక్కానితో దాన్ని తిప్పగలుగుతాడు.
5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!
౫అలాగే, నాలుక శరీరంలో చిన్న భాగమే అయినా, ప్రగల్భాలు పలుకుతుంది. చిన్న నిప్పు రవ్వ ఎంత పెద్ద అడవిని తగల బెడుతుందో గమనించండి!
6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna (Geenna g1067).
౬నాలుక కూడా ఒక అగ్ని. పాప ప్రపంచం మన శరీరంలో అమర్చి ఉన్నట్టు అది ఉండి, శరీరమంతటినీ మలినం చేసి, జీవన మార్గాన్ని తగలబెడుతుంది. తరవాత నరకాగ్నికి గురై కాలిపోతుంది. (Geenna g1067)
7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and sea creature is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind;
౭అన్ని రకాల అడవి మృగాలను, పక్షులను, పాకే ప్రాణులను, సముద్ర జీవులను మానవుడు తన ఆధీనంలోకి తెచ్చుకుంటున్నాడు, తెచ్చుకున్నాడు కూడా.
8 but nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
౮కాని, మనుషుల్లో ఏ ఒక్కరూ నాలుకను ఆధీనంలో ఉంచుకోలేక పోతున్నారు. అది ఎడతెగని దుష్టత్వం. అది మరణం కలిగించే విషంతో నిండి ఉంది.
9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in the image of God.
౯నాలుకతో మన ప్రభువైన తండ్రిని స్తుతిస్తాం. అదే నాలుకతో దేవుని పోలికలో ఉన్న మనిషిని శపిస్తాం.
10 Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
౧౦ఒకే నోటినుంచి స్తుతి, శాపం రెండూ బయటకు వస్తాయి. నా సోదరులారా, ఇలా ఉండకూడదు.
11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?
౧౧ఒకే ఊటలోనుంచి మంచి నీళ్ళు, చేదు నీళ్ళు, రెండూ ఊరుతాయా?
12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.
౧౨నా సోదరులారా, అంజూరపు చెట్టుకు ఒలీవ పళ్ళు, ద్రాక్ష తీగెలకు అంజూరుపళ్ళు కాస్తాయా? అదేవిధంగా, ఉప్పునీటి ఊట నుంచి మంచి నీళ్ళు రావు.
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
౧౩మీలో, జ్ఞానం, గ్రహింపు ఉన్నవాడు ఎవడు? అలాటివాడు జ్ఞానంతో కూడిన తగ్గింపులో తన క్రియల మూలంగా తన మంచి ప్రవర్తన చూపించాలి.
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and do not lie against the truth.
౧౪కాని, మీ హృదయంలో తీవ్రమైన అసూయ, శత్రుభావం ఉంటే, ప్రగల్భాలు పలుకుతూ సత్యానికి విరుద్ధంగా అబద్ధం ఆడకండి.
15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
౧౫ఇలాంటి జ్ఞానం పైనుంచి వచ్చింది కాదు. ఇది భూలోక సంబంధమైనది, ఆధ్యాత్మికం కానిది, సైతానుకు చెందింది.
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
౧౬ఎక్కడైతే అసూయ, శత్రుభావం ఉంటాయో, అక్కడ గందరగోళం, ప్రతి విధమైన కిరాతకం ఉంటాయి.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
౧౭అయితే పైనుంచి వచ్చే జ్ఞానం మొదటగా పవిత్రం. తదుపరి అది శాంతిని కాంక్షిస్తుంది, మృదువుగా ఉంటుంది, ప్రేమతో నిండినది. సమ్మతి గలది. కనికరంతో మంచి ఫలాలతో నిండినది, పక్షపాతం లేకుండా నిజాయితీ గలది.
18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
౧౮శాంతిని చేకూర్చేవారు శాంతితో విత్తనాలు చల్లినందువల్ల నీతి ఫలం దొరుకుతుంది.
