< Galatians 4 >

1 But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all,
Cunsepi, hin kba pyen be tü veng: a pa khawh mkhäm khaia ahmäi cun capa a ka vai kyase pi a nghmaw ham üng cun m'ya mäiha ni ngaih khawi.
2 but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.
A nghmaw ham üng a pa naw a mhnütnaka kcün am a pha ham üng msumcei khaia khyang he awmki he.
3 So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.
4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,
Cunsepi akcüna pha law üng Pamhnam naw amäta Capa a tüih law. Nghngicim nghnumia capa mäiha law lü Judah he Thuma keha xüngseiki,
5 that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as children.
Thuma keha awmki he jah thawng se, Pamhnama ca he mi kya lawnak vaia kyaki.
6 And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”
A ca he nami kyanak mdanak vaia Pamhnam naw a Capaa Ngmüimkhya cun nami mlung k’uma a tüih law. Acuna Ngmüimkhya naw, “Ka Pa, ka Pa” tia ngpyangki.
7 So you are no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Acunakyase m'yaa am kya ti u lü capa nami kyaki. A capa nami kya pängkia kyase Pamhnam naw a capaa phäh vai a tak avan ning jah pe khai.
8 However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.
Tuhkbäih Pamhnam nami ksingki am acunüng Pamhnam naw ning jah ksingki ti veng. Ise a ktha kcek lü m'yenei phyakia ngmüimkhya veia nami nglat be vai nami ngaihki ni.
9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?
10 You observe days, months, seasons, and years.
Khawmhmüp he, nghngi khya he, akcün he la khawkum he, nami jah künaki.
11 I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.
Ning jah cäi na veng! Nami phäha ka kthanak avan amdanga kya khai aw?
12 I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,
Ka püi he aw, “Keia mäiha awm u” tia ning jah nghui na veng. Nangmia mäih ka lawki. Akse ka khana nami bi am ve.
13 but you know that because of weakness in the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.
14 That which was a temptation to you in my flesh, you did not despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
15 What was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
Aktäa nami jekyaiki! Ise ni? Akya thei vai sü ta nami mik pi lo u lü nami na pe khai sü ti kamät naw pyen thei veng.
16 So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?
17 They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them.
Khyang kce he naw ning jah kü na leng lengkia mäiha awmki he, cunsepi ami ning jah künak am daw. Ami ning jah künaka kba nami jah künak be vaia phäha kei üngka ning jah mtai hlü ve u.
18 But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.
Bünak a daw üng ta künak hin dawki ni. Nami hlawnga ka awma kcün däng üng am kyakia nami hlawnga am ka awm üng pi.
19 My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—
Ka cana he aw, Khritawa ngneiksak nangmi üng am a awm hama küt üng ta nghnumi naw a ca law vai üng a huieia kba nami hama na huiei ve.
20 but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.
21 Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do not you listen to the law?
Thuma keha awm hlüki he ning jah kthäh vang: Thum naw i a pyen am nami ngjaki aw?
22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the servant, and one by the free woman.
Abraham naw cangpyang nghngih ca naki. Mat m'yanua ca kya lü mat cun m'yanu am nikia ca kyaki.
23 However, the son by the servant was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise.
M'yanu am ani ca cun pumsa thuma hmi lü, m'yanu am niki am ani ca cun khyütama thuma hmi lawkia kyaki tia pyenki.
24 These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to bondage, which is Hagar.
Acuna ngthu cun msuimcäpnaka kyaki ti ksing theia kyaki; acuna nghnuminu xawi cun ngthumkhän nghngiha kyaki xawi. M'ya jah ca nakia nghnumi Hakarah cun Sinai mcung üng pawha ngthumkhäna kyaki.
25 For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to the Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in bondage with her children.
Arab khawa Sinai mcunga nghnün üng ngdüikia Hakarah cun, tuhkbäih Jerusalem a khyang he mah mah am m'yaa kyaki msuimcäpnaka kyaki.
26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Cunsepi khankhaw Jerusalem cun m'ya am kyakia kyase, acun cun mi nua kyaki.
27 For it is written, “Rejoice, you barren who do not bear. Break out and shout, you who do not travail. For the desolate women have more children than her who has a husband.”
“Na cingkia nghnumi jekyaia! Na am pawi na khawi lü na hmia natnak am na khamei khawiki je lü ngpyanga! A cei naw am a yawk khawia nghnumia kthaka a cei naw am a ktä naw hnasen da na bawk khai” tia cangcim naw pyenki.
28 Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
Acunakyase ka püi he aw, nangmi cun Isaka mäiha khyütama phäha Pamhnama ca hea nami kyaki.
29 But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
Acuna kcün üng pumsa thuma hmi lawki naw Pamhnama Ngmüimkhya thuma hmi lawki a mkhuimkha khawia kba; tuhkbäih pi acuna mäih lawki.
30 However, what does the Scripture say? “Throw out the servant and her son, for the son of the servant will not inherit with the son of the free woman.”
Cunsepi, cangcim naw, “M'yanu cun a capa am jah ksäta; m'yanua capa naw ä m'yanua capa khawh ä mkhämpüi khai” tia a pyen.
31 So then, brothers, we are not children of a servant, but of the free woman.
Acunakyase ka püi he aw, mimi cun m'yanua ca am mi kya u lü ä m'yanua ca hea mi kyaki.
