Ephesians 6
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Ihr Kinder, gehorcht euern Eltern, denn ihr steht in des Herrn Gemeinschaft! Ein solcher Gehorsam ist recht und billig. Es heißt ja:
2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise:
Ehre Vater und Mutter! Das ist ein wichtiges Gebot wegen der Verheißung:
3 “that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.”
Damit dir's wohl gehe und du lange lebst auf Erden.
4 You fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Ihr Väter, reizt eure Kinder nicht zum Zorn, sondern erzieht sie so, wie der Herr erzieht und zurechtweist!
5 Servants, be obedient to those who according to the flesh are your masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ,
Ihr Sklaven, gehorcht euern irdischen Herren in Ehrfurcht und ängstlicher Sorgfalt mit aufrichtigem Herzen, als hättet ihr's mit Christus zu tun!
6 not in the way of service only when eyes are on you, as men pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
Seid keine Augendiener, als wolltet ihr Menschen gefallen; sondern als Sklaven Christi tut Gottes Willen von ganzem Herzen!
7 with good will doing service as to the Lord and not to men,
Verrichtet euern Sklavendienst mit Neigung, als dientet ihr dem Herrn und nicht Menschen!
8 knowing that whatever good thing each one does, he will receive the same good again from the Lord, whether he is bound or free.
Bedenkt auch, daß jeder, er sei Sklave oder freier Mann, für seine guten Taten von dem Herrn Lohn empfängt.
9 You masters, do the same things to them, and give up threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no partiality with him.
Ihr Herren, behandelt eure Sklaven milde und laßt das Drohen! Ihr wißt ja, ihr habt ebenso wie sie im Himmel einen Herrn, und bei dem gilt kein Unterschied.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
Im übrigen: erstarkt im Herrn und in der Kraft seiner Macht!
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Zieht an die volle Waffenrüstung, die Gott euch reicht, damit ihr gegen des Teufels Schliche gewappnet seid!
12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Denn wir haben nicht mit schwachen, sterblichen Menschen zu streiten, sondern mit den Mächten, Gewalten und Herrschern, die hier in der Finsternis ihr Wesen treiben: mit dem bösen Geisterheer haben wir zu kämpfen um die Himmelsgüter. (aiōn g165)
13 Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Darum legt die volle Waffenrüstung Gottes an, damit ihr am Kampfestag widerstehen und nach Besiegung aller Feinde das Feld behaupten könnt.
14 Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
So steht denn da zum Kampf fertig! Die Wahrheit sei euer Lendengurt! Die Gerechtigkeit decke eure Brust als Panzer!
15 and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace,
Der freudige Mut, wie ihn die Heilsbotschaft des Friedens schenkt, bekleide eure Füße gleichwie Schuhe!
16 above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
Ergreift dazu den Glauben als den Schild, womit ihr alle feurigen Pfeile des Bösen auslöschen könnt!
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
Nehmt auch das Heil als euern Helm und den Geist — Gottes Wort als euer Schwert!
18 with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
Erfüllt vom Geist, betet und fleht in allen Lagen unverdrossen! Seid dabei auch wachsam und betet beharrlich für alle Heiligen!
19 Pray for me, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,
Betet namentlich für mich, daß mir Gelegenheit geboten werde, meinen Mund zu öffnen und das Geheimnis der Frohen Botschaft,
20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
für die ich ja in Ketten werbe, mit Freimut kundzumachen, damit ich's ohne Furcht verkündige, wie sich's gebührt!
21 But that you also may know my affairs, how I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make known to you all things.
Damit auch ihr von meiner Lage und meinem Ergehen Bescheid wißt, wird euch Tychikus, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener des Herrn, genau Bericht geben.
22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know our state and that he may comfort your hearts.
Ich sende ihn deshalb zu euch, damit ihr erfahrt, wie es bei uns geht, und er euch Mut zuspreche.
23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Friede sei mit den Brüdern und Liebe im Bund mit Glauben von Gott dem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!
24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.
Die Gnade sei mit allen, die unsern Herrn Jesus Christus liebhaben in unvergänglicher Treue!
