2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus através da vontade de Deus, e Timóteo nosso irmão, à assembléia de Deus que está em Corinto, com todos os santos que estão em toda a Acaia:

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Graça a vós e paz de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai de misericórdia e Deus de todo conforto,

4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

que nos conforta em toda a nossa aflição, para que possamos consolar aqueles que estão em qualquer aflição, através do conforto com o qual nós mesmos somos consolados por Deus.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

Pois como os sofrimentos de Cristo abundam para nós, mesmo assim nosso conforto também abunda através de Cristo.

6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

Mas se estamos aflitos, é para seu conforto e salvação. Se somos consolados, é para seu conforto, que produz em você a paciência dos mesmos sofrimentos que nós também sofremos.

7 Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the comfort.

Nossa esperança para você é inabalável, sabendo que, como você é participante dos sofrimentos, você também é do conforto.

8 For we do not desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia: that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

Pois não desejamos ter vocês desinformados, irmãos, a respeito de nossa aflição que nos aconteceu na Ásia: que fomos sobrecarregados excessivamente, além de nosso poder, de tal forma que desesperamos até mesmo da vida.

9 Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

Sim, nós mesmos tivemos a sentença de morte dentro de nós mesmos, que não devemos confiar em nós mesmos, mas em Deus que ressuscita os mortos,

10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,

que nos libertou de uma morte tão grande, e nos livra, em quem depositamos nossa esperança de que Ele ainda nos libertará,

11 you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

vocês também nos ajudam juntos em nosso nome por sua súplica; para que, pelo dom que nos foi dado por meio de muitos, agradecimentos possam ser dados por muitas pessoas em seu nome.

12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

Pois nossa ostentação é esta: o testemunho de nossa consciência de que em santidade e sinceridade de Deus, não em sabedoria carnal, mas na graça de Deus, nos comportamos no mundo, e mais abundantemente em relação a vocês.

13 For we write no other things to you than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end—

Pois não lhe escrevemos outras coisas além do que você leu ou mesmo reconheceu, e espero que você reconheça até o final

14 as also you acknowledged us in part—that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

como também nos reconheceu em parte - que somos sua jactância, como você também é nossa, no dia de nosso Senhor Jesus.

15 In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit,

Nesta confiança, eu estava determinado a vir primeiro até você, para que você pudesse ter um segundo benefício,

16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

e por você para passar na Macedônia, e novamente da Macedônia para vir até você, e para ser enviado por você na minha viagem à Judéia.

17 When I therefore planned this, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

Quando eu planejei isto, será que eu mostrei ficção? Ou as coisas que eu planejei, eu planejo de acordo com a carne, que comigo deveria haver o “Sim, sim” e o “Não, não?

18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”

Mas como Deus é fiel, nossa palavra para com você não foi “Sim e não”.

19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me, Silvanus, and Timothy—was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

Para o Filho de Deus, Jesus Cristo, que foi pregado entre vós por nós - por mim, Silvanus e Timothy - não foi “Sim e não”, mas Nele está “Sim”.

20 For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.

Pois por mais que muitas sejam as promessas de Deus, Nele está o “Sim”. Portanto, também através dele está o “Amém”, para a glória de Deus através de nós.

21 Now he who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,

Agora aquele que nos estabelece convosco em Cristo e nos ungiu é Deus,

22 who also sealed us and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

que também nos selou e nos deu a entrada do Espírito em nossos corações.

23 But I call God for a witness to my soul, that to spare you, I did not come to Corinth.

Mas eu chamo Deus para testemunhar a minha alma, que para poupá-lo, eu não vim a Corinto.

24 We do not control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

Nós não controlamos sua fé, mas somos companheiros de trabalho com você para sua alegria. Pois você permanece firme na fé.
