1 Corinthians 3
1 Brothers, I could not speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ.
Auch ich, Brüder, habe zu euch nicht reden können wie zu geistlichen Menschen, sondern nur wie zu fleischlichen. Ich mußte euch bei der Verkündigung der Wahrheit Christi wie unmündige Kinder behandeln.
2 I fed you with milk, not with solid food, for you were not yet ready. Indeed, you are not ready even now,
Darum habe ich euch nur Milch gereicht und keine feste Speise; denn die konntet ihr damals noch nicht vertragen.
3 for you are still fleshly. For insofar as there is jealousy, strife, and factions among you, are not you fleshly, and do not you walk in the ways of men?
Und nicht einmal heute könnt ihr sie vertragen. Denn ihr seid noch immer fleischlich. Es herrschen ja Eifersucht und Streit unter euch. Ist das nicht ein Beweis dafür, daß ihr fleischlich seid und ganz wie andere Menschen dahinlebt?
4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are not you fleshly?
Wenn der eine sagt: "Ich bin des Paulus Jünger" und der andere: "Ich bin des Apollos Jünger" — treibt ihr's dann nicht genau so wie andere Menschen?
5 Who then is Apollos, and who is Paul, but servants through whom you believed, and each as the Lord gave to him?
Was ist denn Apollos? Und was ist Paulus? Sie sind weiter nichts als Diener, durch die ihr zum Glauben gekommen seid. Und zwar dient jeder von uns beiden so, wie es der Herr ihm aufgetragen hat.
6 I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase.
Ich habe gepflanzt, Apollos hat begossen, Gott aber hat es wachsen lassen.
7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
Das Verdienst gebührt darum nicht dem, der da pflanzt, noch dem, der begießt, sondern Gott allein, der es wachsen läßt.
8 Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
Der Pflanzer und der Begießer stehen beide auf derselben Stufe. Und jeder von ihnen wird nach seiner besonderen Arbeit auch seinen besonderen Lohn empfangen.
9 For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s farming, God’s building.
Denn wir sind Gottes Mitarbeiter; ihr seid Gottes Ackerfeld, ihr seid auch Gottes Bau.
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another builds on it. But let each man be careful how he builds on it.
Nach der Gnade Gottes, die mir verliehen worden ist, habe ich als ein geschickter Baumeister den Grund (bei euch) gelegt. Andere bauen nun darauf weiter. Doch jeder sehe zu, wie er weiterbaue!
11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ.
So viel ist zwar gewiß: Einen anderen Grund kann niemand legen als den, der (von mir) gelegt worden ist, und das ist Jesus Christus.
12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw,
Es kann nun aber jemand auf diesen Grund Gold, Silber und kostbare Steine oder Holz, Heu und Stroh bauen.
13 each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man’s work is.
Was jeder gebaut hat, das wird (dereinst in seinem Wert) offenbar werden. Der Tag (des Herrn) wird es ausweisen, denn der offenbart sich mit Feuer. Und eben das Feuer wird erproben, was eines jeden Werk wert ist.
14 If any man’s work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward.
Bleibt das Werk, das jemand (auf dem rechten Grund) gebaut hat, (in der Feuerglut) unversehrt, so wird er Lohn empfangen.
15 If any man’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.
Verbrennt es, so geht er seines Lohnes verlustig. Er selbst indes wird noch gerettet werden, aber (nur mit genauer Not und mit dem nackten Leben) wie bei einer Feuersbrunst.
16 Do not you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?
Wißt ihr nicht, daß ihr Gottes Tempel seid und der Geist Gottes in euch wohnt?
17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.
Wer den Tempel Gottes verderbt, den wird Gott verderben. Denn der Tempel Gottes ist heilig, und heilig seid auch ihr!
18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this age (aiōn g165), let him become a fool, that he may become wise.
Niemand täusche sich selbst! Bildet sich einer von euch ein, er sei in dieser Weltzeit weise, der werde zuerst ein Tor, damit er dann zur wahren Weisheit komme! (aiōn g165)
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”
Denn die Weisheit dieser Welt ist nach Gottes Urteil Torheit. Steht doch geschrieben: Er fängt die Weisheit in ihrer Schlauheit.
20 And again, “The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”
Und anderswo heißt es: Der Herr weiß, daß die Gedanken der Weisen mächtig sind.
21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,
Daher rühme sich niemand irgendeines Menschen! Es ist ja alles euer:
22 whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,
Paulus, Apollos oder Kephas, Welt, Leben oder Tod, Gegenwärtiges und Zukünftiges — alles ist euer.
23 and you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.
Ihr selbst aber seid Christi Eigentum, und Christus ist aufs innigste mit Gott verbunden.
