< Matthew 5 >
1 And having seen the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. And when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
၁ကိုယ်တော်သည်လူပရိသတ်တို့ကိုမြင်တော် မူသဖြင့်တောင်ပေါ်သို့တက်တော်မူ၏။ ကိုယ်တော် ထိုင်တော်မူသောအခါတပည့်တော်တို့သည် အထံတော်သို့လာကြ၏။-
2 And having opened his mouth, he taught them, saying,
၂ထိုအခါကိုယ်တော်သည်သူတို့အားအောက် ပါအတိုင်းဟောပြောသွန်သင်တော်မူ၏။
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, because the kingdom of the heavens is theirs.
၃``စိတ်နှလုံးနှိမ့်ချသောသူတို့သည်မင်္ဂလာ ရှိကြ၏။ ကောင်းကင်နိုင်ငံတော်သည်ထိုသူတို့၏နိုင်ငံ ဖြစ်၏။
4 Blessed are those who mourn, because they will be comforted.
၄``ဝမ်းနည်းပူဆွေးသောသူတို့သည် မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်သည်ထိုသူတို့အားစိတ်သက်သာ မှုကို ပေးတော်မူလတ္တံ့။
5 Blessed are the meek, because they will inherit the earth.
၅``စိတ်နူးညံ့သိမ်မွေ့သောသူတို့သည် မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။ ထိုသူတို့သည်ဘုရားသခင်ကတိထားတော် မူသောကောင်းချီးကိုခံစားရကြလတ္တံ့။
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be filled.
၆``ဘုရားသခင်၏အလိုတော်အတိုင်း လိုက်နာကျင့်သုံးရန်လိုလားတောင့်တသော သူတို့သည်မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။ ထိုသူတို့သည်တောင့်တသည်အတိုင်း အပြည့်အဝရရှိကြလတ္တံ့။
7 Blessed are the merciful, because they will obtain mercy.
၇``သနားကြင်နာတတ်သောသူတို့သည် မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။ ဘုရားသခင်သည်ထိုသူတို့အား သနားကြင်နာတော်မူလတ္တံ့။
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, because they will see God.
၈``စိတ်နှလုံးဖြူစင်သောသူတို့သည်မင်္ဂလာ ရှိကြ၏။ ထိုသူတို့သည်ဘုရားသခင်ကိုဖူးမြင်ရကြလတ္တံ့။
9 Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God.
၉``ငြိမ်းချမ်းရေးအတွက်ဆောင်ရွက်သော သူတို့သည်မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။ ထိုသူတို့သည်ဘုရားသခင်၏သားများဟု အခေါ်ခံရကြလတ္တံ့။
10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted because of righteousness, because the kingdom of the heavens is theirs.
၁၀``ဘုရားသခင်၏အလိုတော်အတိုင်း ဆောင်ရွက်သဖြင့် နှိပ်စက်ညှဉ်းဆဲခြင်းခံရသောသူတို့သည် မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။ ကောင်းကင်နိုင်ငံတော်သည်ထိုသူတို့၏နိုင်ငံ ဖြစ်၏။
11 Blessed are ye when they revile you, and persecute you, and say every evil word, being deceitful against you because of me.
၁၁``လူတို့သည်ငါ့ကြောင့်သင်တို့ကိုကဲ့ရဲ့ညှဉ်းဆဲ လျက် မဟုတ်မမှန်ဘဲအမျိုးမျိုးပြစ်တင်စွပ်စွဲကြသော အခါ၊ သင်တို့သည်မင်္ဂလာရှိကြ၏။
12 Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, because your reward is great in the heavens, for so they persecuted the prophets before you.
၁၂``ဝမ်းမြောက်ရွှင်မြူးကြလော့။ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံတွင် သင်တို့ခံစားရမည့်အကျိုးသည်ကြီးလှပေ၏။ ရှေးပရောဖက်တို့ကိုထိုနည်းတူညှဉ်းဆဲကြပြီ။
13 Ye are the salt material of the earth. But if the salt material becomes ineffective, by what will it be salted? It is potent for nothing further, except to be cast outside and to be trodden down by men.
၁၃``သင်တို့သည်လောက၏ဆားသဖွယ်ဖြစ်ကြ၏။ ဆားသည်အငန်ကင်းပျောက်သွားလျှင် အဘယ် သို့ပြန်၍ငန်အောင်ပြုလုပ်နိုင်ပါမည်နည်း။ မည် သို့မျှအသုံးမဝင်တော့ဘဲအပြင်သို့ပစ်လိုက် သဖြင့်လူတို့ကျော်နင်းသွားကြ၏။
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city setting on a hill cannot be hid,
၁၄``သင်တို့သည်လောက၏အလင်းသဖွယ်ဖြစ် ကြ၏။ တောင်ပေါ်မှာတည်ထားသောမြို့ကိုဖုံး ကွယ်၍မထားနိုင်။-
15 nor do they light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the lampstand, and it shines to all in the house.
၁၅ဆီမီးကိုထွန်းညှိ၍တင်းတောင်းဖြင့်အုပ်၍မ ထားတတ်ကြ။ အိမ်သူအိမ်သားအပေါင်းတို့ အလင်းရောင်ရစေရန်ဆီမီးခုံပေါ်မှာသာ တင်ထားတတ်ကြ၏။-
16 Thus your light should shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in the heavens.
၁၆ထိုနည်းတူစွာလူတို့သည်သင်တို့၏ကောင်းသော အကျင့်ကိုမြင်၍ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံ၌ရှိတော်မူသော သင်တို့အဖ၏ဂုဏ်တော်ကိုချီးကူးစေရန် သင် တို့၏အလင်းကိုလူတို့ရှေ့၌ထွန်းလင်းစေကြ လော့။
17 Think not that I came to abolish the law or the prophets. I came not to abolish, but to fulfill.
၁၇``ပညတ်ကျမ်းနှင့်ပရောဖက်ကျမ်းတို့ကိုဖျက် သိမ်းရန်ငါလာသည်ဟုမထင်ကြနှင့်။ ဖျက်သိမ်း ရန်လာသည်မဟုတ်။ ထိုကျမ်းများတွင်ဖော်ပြ ပါရှိသည့်အတိုင်းဖြစ်ပျက်စေရန်သာငါလာ သတည်း။-
18 For truly I say to you, until the heaven and the earth pass away, one iota or one tittle will, no, not pass away from the law, until all things come to pass.
၁၈သင်တို့အားအမှန်အကန်ငါဆိုသည်ကားကောင်း ကင်နှင့်မြေကြီးတည်ရှိသမျှကာလပတ်လုံး ပညတ်ကျမ်းမှအက္ခရာတစ်လုံး၊ ဝစ္စတစ်လုံးမျှ ပင်မပျောက်ပျက်ရ။ ထိုကျမ်းတွင်ဖော်ပြသော အမှုအရာအလုံးစုံတို့သည်ဖြစ်ပျက်ရမည်။-
19 Whoever therefore may relax one of these least commandments, and may teach men so, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens. But whoever may do and may teach them, this man will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.
၁၉အသေးငယ်ဆုံးသောပညတ်ကိုကူးလွန်၍ သူတစ်ပါးတို့ကူးလွန်ရန်ကိုလည်းဟောပြော သွန်သင်သူသည် ကောင်းကင်နိုင်ငံတော်တွင်အသိမ် ငယ်ဆုံးသောသူဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။ သို့ရာတွင်ပညတ်တော် များကိုလိုက်နာကျင့်သုံး၍ သူတစ်ပါးတို့လိုက်နာ ကျင့်သုံးရန်ကိုလည်းဟောပြောသွန်သင်သူသည် ကောင်းကင်နိုင်ငံတော်တွင်ကြီးမြတ်သူဖြစ်လိမ့် မည်။-
20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness abounds more than of the scholars and Pharisees, ye will, no, not enter into the kingdom of the heavens.
၂၀ဘုရားသခင်၏အလိုတော်ကိုလိုက်လျှောက်ကျင့် သုံးရာတွင် သင်တို့သည်ဖာရိရှဲနှင့်ကျမ်းတတ် ဆရာတို့ထက်မသာလျှင် ကောင်းကင်နိုင်ငံတော် သို့ဝင်ရလိမ့်မည်မဟုတ်ဟုငါဆို၏။
21 Ye have heard that it was said to them in old times, Thou shall not murder, and whoever murders will be liable to the judgment.
၂၁``လူ့အသက်ကိုမသတ်ရ။ သတ်သောသူသည် တရားသူကြီး၏ရှေ့မှောက်သို့ရောက်ရမည် ဟူသောပညတ်ကိုသင်တို့ကြားရလေပြီ။-
22 But I say to you, that every man who is angry at his brother without cause will be liable to the judgment, and whoever speaks an insult to his brother will be liable to the council, and whoever says, Foolish man, will be liable to the hell of fire. (Geenna )
၂၂သို့ရာတွင်မိမိ၏ညီအစ်ကိုအားအမျက် ထွက်သောသူသည် တရားသူကြီး၏ရှေ့မှောက် သို့ရောက်ရမည်ဟုသင်တို့အားငါဆို၏။ အချင်း ချင်းဆဲရေးတိုင်းထွာသူသည်တရားရုံးတော် တွင်အပြစ်ပေးခြင်းကိုခံရလိမ့်မည်။ ညီအစ်ကို အချင်းချင်းမထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူသည်ငရဲ သို့လားရလိမ့်မည်။- (Geenna )
23 If therefore thou should bring thy gift to the altar, and remember there that thy brother has anything against thee,
၂၃သို့ဖြစ်၍သင်သည်ယဇ်ပလ္လင်တော်တွင်ပူဇော် သကာဆက်သမည်ပြုစဉ် မိမိအပေါ်၌ညီအစ်ကို တစ်ဦးတစ်ယောက်၏မကျေနပ်မှုကိုသတိရ ခဲ့သော်၊-
24 leave there thy gift before the altar, and go. First be reconciled to thy brother, and then, after coming, bring thy gift.
၂၄ပူဇော်သကာကိုထားခဲ့ပြီးလျှင်ထိုသူ၏ကျေ နပ်မှုကိုရယူလော့။ ထိုနောက်ပြန်၍သင်၏ပူဇော် သကာကိုဆက်သလော့။
25 Be agreeing with thine opponent quickly, while thou are with him on the way, lest the opponent deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the subordinate, and thou will be cast into prison.
၂၅``တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်သည်ရုံးတော်တွင်သင့်အား တရားစွဲလျှင်သူနှင့်အတူလမ်းခရီး၌ရှိနေ စဉ်သူနှင့်လျင်မြန်စွာပြန်လည်သင့်မြတ်အောင်ပြု လော့။ သို့မပြုပါမူသူသည်သင့်အားတရား သူကြီး၏လက်သို့အပ်၍ တရားသူကြီးသည် လည်းထောင်မှူးလက်သို့အပ်ပြီးလျှင်သင့်ကို ထောင်ချထားလိမ့်မည်။-
26 Truly I say to thee, thou will, no, not come out from there, until thou have paid the last quadran.
၂၆ပေးဆပ်ရန်ရှိသောငွေအကုန်အစင်မပေးမ ဆပ်မချင်းသင်သည်ထောင်ထဲမှထွက်ရလိမ့်မည် မဟုတ်ဟုငါဆို၏။
27 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall not commit adultery.
၂၇``သူ့အိမ်ရာကိုမပြစ်မှားနှင့်ဟူသောပညတ် ကိုသင်တို့ကြားသိရလေပြီ။-ထွ၊ ၂၀:၁၄။ တရား၊ ၅:၁၈။
28 But I say to you, that every man who looks on a woman to crave her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
၂၈သို့ရာတွင်တပ်မက်သောစိတ်ဖြင့်အမျိုးသမီး တစ်ဦးကိုကြည့်သူသည် မိမိ၏စိတ်တွင်ထိုအမျိုး သမီးကိုပြစ်မှားပြီဟုသင်တို့အားငါဆို၏။-
29 And if thy right eye causes thee to stumble, remove it and cast it from thee, for it is advantageous for thee that one of thy body-parts should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell. (Geenna )
၂၉သင်၏လက်ယာမျက်စိသည်သင့်အားမှောက်မှား စေလျှင်ထိုမျက်စိကိုထုတ်ပစ်လော့။ သင်၏ကိုယ် ခန္ဓာတစ်ခုလုံးငရဲသို့လားရသည်ထက်ကိုယ် အင်္ဂါတစ်ခုချို့တဲ့ရခြင်းကသာ၍ကောင်း၏။- (Geenna )
30 And if thy right hand causes thee to stumble, cut it off and cast it from thee, for it is advantageous for thee that one of thy body-parts should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell. (Geenna )
၃၀သင်၏လက်ယာလက်သည်သင့်အားမှောက်မှားစေ လျှင်ထိုလက်ကိုဖြတ်ပစ်လော့။ သင်၏ကိုယ်ခန္ဓာတစ် ခုလုံးငရဲသို့လားရသည်ထက်ကိုယ်အင်္ဂါတစ်ခု ချို့တဲ့ရခြင်းကသာ၍ကောင်း၏။ (Geenna )
31 And it was said, Whoever may divorce his wife, let him give her a divorce certificate.
၃၁``မိမိ၏မယားနှင့်ကွာရှင်းလိုသူသည်ဖြတ်စာ ကိုပေးအပ်ရမည်ဟုဆိုရိုးစကားရှိ၏။-
32 But I say to you, that whoever may divorce his wife apart from a matter of fornication, disposes her to commit adultery, and whoever may marry her who has been divorced commits adultery.
၃၂သို့ရာတွင်လူတစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်သည်မိမိ၏ဇနီး အားအကျင့်ဖောက်ပြားမှုမရှိဘဲကွာရှင်း၍ ထို အမျိုးသမီးကလည်းနောက်အိမ်ထောင်ပြုသည် ဆိုပါမူ ထိုသူသည်မိမိ၏ဇနီးအားမျောက်မ ထားစေရာရောက်၏။ ထိုအမျိုးသမီးနှင့်အိမ် ထောင်ပြုသူသည်လည်းသူတစ်ပါး၏အိမ်ရာ ကိုပြစ်မှားရာရောက်၏ဟုသင်တို့အားငါဆို၏။
33 Again, ye have heard that it was said to them in old times, Thou shall not swear falsely, but shall render to the Lord thine oaths.
၃၃``ထို့အပြင်`သင်သည်သစ္စာကတိကိုမဖျက်ရ။ ဘုရားသခင်၏ရှေ့တော်တွင်သင်ထားရှိသည့် သစ္စာကတိအတိုင်းဆောင်ရွက်ရမည်' ဟူသော ပညတ်ကိုသင်တို့ကြားသိရလေပြီ။-
34 But I say to you, not to swear at all, neither by heaven, because it is the throne of God,
၃၄သို့ရာတွင်သင်တို့သည်တစ်စုံတစ်ခုကိုကတိပြု သောအခါလုံးဝကျိန်ဆို၍မပြောကြနှင့်ဟု သင်တို့အားငါဆို၏။ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံကိုတိုင်တည် ၍မကျိန်ဆိုကြနှင့်။ ကောင်းကင်ဘုံသည်ဘုရား သခင်၏ပလ္လင်တော်ဖြစ်၏။-
35 nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of his feet, nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
၃၅ကမ္ဘာမြေကြီးကိုတိုင်တည်၍မကျိန်ဆိုကြနှင့်။ ကမ္ဘာမြေကြီးသည်ကိုယ်တော်၏ခြေတင်ခုံဖြစ်၏။ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့ကိုတိုင်တည်၍မကျိန်ဆိုကြနှင့်။ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့သည်ဘုရင်မင်းမြတ်၏နေပြည် တော်ဖြစ်၏။-
36 Neither shall thou swear by thy head, because thou cannot make one hair white or black.
၃၆မိမိ၏ဦးခေါင်းကိုတိုင်တည်၍လည်းမကျိန်ဆို ကြနှင့်။ အဘယ်ကြောင့်ဆိုသော်သင်တို့သည်ဆံပင် တစ်ပင်မျှကိုပင်ဖြူအောင်မတတ်နိုင်ကြသော ကြောင့်တည်း။-
37 But let your word be, Yes, yes, No, no. And anything beyond these is from evil.
၃၇သင်တို့သည် `ဟုတ်ပါသည်' သို့မဟုတ် `မဟုတ်ပါ' ဟူ၍သာပြောဆိုကြလော့။ ဤထက်ပိုသော စကားသည်မာရ်နတ်၏ထံမှရသောစကား ဖြစ်၏။
38 Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
၃၈``မျက်စိအစားမျက်စိ၊ သွားအစားသွားဟူ သောပညတ်ကိုသင်တို့ကြားသိရလေပြီ။-
39 But I say to you, not to resist what is troublesome, but whoever will strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
၃၉သို့ရာတွင်သင့်အားပြစ်မှားသူကိုလက်စားမချေ နှင့်ဟုငါဆို၏။ သင်၏လက်ယာပါးကိုရိုက်သူ အားအခြားပါးတစ်ဖက်လည်းရိုက်စေဦးလော့။-
40 And to the man who wants to sue thee, and take away thy coat, thou shall leave him thy cloak also.
၄၀သင်၏အတွင်းအင်္ကျီကိုယူလို၍တရားတွေ့သော သူအားသင်၏ဝတ်လုံကိုလည်းယူခွင့်ပြုလော့။-
41 And whoever will draft thee for one mile, go thou with him two.
၄၁သင့်အားအနိုင်အထက်ပြု၍ခရီးတစ်မိုင်သွား စေသူနှင့်ခရီးနှစ်မိုင်သွားလော့။-
42 Give to him who asks thee, and turn thou not away from him who wants to borrow from thee.
၄၂တောင်းခံသူအားပေးကမ်းလော့။ ချေးငှားလိုသူ အားလည်းချေးငှားလော့။
43 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shall love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.
၄၃``မိတ်ဆွေကိုချစ်လော့။ ရန်သူကိုမုန်းလော့ဟူ သောပညတ်ကိုသင်တို့ ကြားသိရလေပြီ။-
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
၄၄သို့ရာတွင်ရန်သူကိုချစ်ကြလော့ဟုသင်တို့ အားငါဆို၏။ သင်တို့ကိုနှိပ်စက်ညှဉ်းဆဲသူ တို့အတွက်မေတ္တာပို့ကြလော့။-
45 so that ye may become sons of your Father in the heavens, because he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and makes rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
၄၅သို့မှသာသင်တို့သည်ကောင်းကင်ဘုံရှင်သင်တို့ အဖ၏သားများဖြစ်ကြလိမ့်မည်။ ကိုယ်တော်သည် လူဆိုးလူကောင်းများအပေါ်၌နေရောင်ခြည် ကိုသက်ရောက်စေတော်မူ၏။ သူတော်ကောင်း၊ သူ ယုတ်မာများအပေါ်၌မိုးကိုရွာစေတော်မူ၏။-
46 For if ye love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the tax collectors the same?
၄၆သင်တို့သည်မိမိတို့အားချစ်သောသူများကိုသာ ချစ်တုံ့ပြန်ပါမူ အဘယ်သို့လျှင်ဘုရားသခင်ထံ တော်မှကောင်းချီးကိုခံစားထိုက်ပါမည်နည်း။ အခွန် ခံသူများပင်လျှင်ဤသို့ပြုကြသည်မဟုတ်လော။-
47 And if ye only greet your friends, what do ye extra? Do not even the tax collectors this way?
၄၇ထိုမှတစ်ပါးလည်းသင်တို့သည်ညီအစ်ကိုအချင်း ချင်းနှင့်သာလျှင်နှုတ်ဆက်ကြမည်ဆိုပါက သင်တို့ ၏အပြုအမူသည်အဘယ်သို့ထူးခြားမှုရှိနိုင် ပါမည်နည်း။ ဘုရားသခင်ကိုမသိသောသူများ ပင်လျှင်ဤသို့ပြုကြသည်။-
48 Ye therefore shall be perfect, even as your Father in the heavens is perfect.
၄၈ကောင်းကင်ဘုံရှင်သင်တို့၏အဖသည်ကောင်းမြတ် စုံလင်တော်မူသကဲ့သို့သင်တို့သည်လည်းကောင်း မြတ်စုံလင်ကြလော့။
