1 Ook de zonen van Aäron werden in groepen ingedeeld. De zonen van Aäron waren Nadab, Abihoe, Elazar en Itamar.
These are also the diuisions of the sonnes of Aaron: The sonnes of Aaron were Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 Nadab en Abihoe stierven eerder dan hun vader, en lieten geen kinderen na, zodat alleen Elazar en Itamar als priesters dienst deden.
But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the Priestes office.
3 Ze werden volgens hun ambtsbezigheden in groepen ingedeeld door David, en door Sadok, die van Elazar stamde, en door Achimélek, die van Itamar stamde.
And Dauid distributed them, euen Zadok of the sonnes of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sonnes of Ithamar according to their offices in their ministration.
4 Het bleek, dat het aantal familiehoofden, die van Elazar afstamden, groter was dan dat van de afstammelingen van Itamar. Daarom werden ze in deze verhouding ingedeeld, dat er op zestien familiehoofden, die van Elazar afstamden, acht van Itamar stonden.
And there were found more of the sonnes of Eleazar by the number of men, then of the sonnes of Ithamar. and they deuided them, to wit, among the sonnes of Eleazar, sixteene heads, according to the houshould of their fathers, and among ye sonnes of Ithamar, according to the housholde of their fathers, eight.
5 De indeling zelf geschiedde door het lot, beurt om beurt; want er waren zowel onder de afstammelingen van Elazar als onder die van Itamar heilige en door God begenadigde bestuurders.
Thus they distributed them by lot the one from the other, and so the rulers of the Sanctuarie and the rulers of the house of God were of the sonnes of Eleazar and of the sonnes of Ithamar.
6 De geheimschrijver Sjemaja, de zoon van Netanel en eveneens een leviet, schreef ze op, in tegenwoordigheid van den koning, van de bestuurders, den priester Sadok, Achimélek den zoon van Ebjatar, en de familiehoofden der priesters en levieten. Telkens werd er om beurten één familie van Itamar en twee van Elazar door het lot aangewezen.
And Shemaiah the sonne of Nethaneel the scribe of the Leuites, wrote them before ye King and the princes, and Zadok the Priest, and Ahimelech the sonne of Abiathar, and before ye chiefe fathers of the Priests and of the Leuites, one familie being reserued for Eleazar, and another reserued for Ithamar.
7 Het eerste lot viel op Jehojarib, het tweede op Jedaja,
And the first lot fell to Iehoiarib, and the second to Iedaiah,
8 het derde op Charim, het vierde op Seorim,
The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 het vijfde op Malki-ja, het zesde op Mi-jamin,
The fifth to Malchiiah, the sixt to Miiamin,
10 het zevende op Hakkos, het achtste op Abi-ja,
The seuenth to Hakkoz, the eight to Abiiah,
11 het negende op Jesjóea, het tiende op Sjekanjáhoe,
The ninth to Ieshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 het elfde op Eljasjib, het twaalfde op Jakim,
The eleuenth to Eliashib, the twelft to Iakim,
13 het dertiende op Choeppa, het veertiende op Jesjebab,
The thirteenth to Huppa, the fouretenth to Ieshebeab,
14 het vijftiende op Bilga, het zestiende op Immer,
The fiftenth to Bilgah, the sixtenth to Immer,
15 het zeventiende op Chezir, het achttiende op Happisses,
The seuententh to Hezir, the eightenth to Happizzer,
16 het negentiende op Petachja, het twintigste op Jecheskel,
The ninetenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Iehezekel,
17 het een en twintigste op Jakin, het twee en twintigste op Gamoel,
The one and twentie to Iachin, the two and twentie to Gamul,
18 het drie en twintigste op Delajáhoe, het vier en twintigste op Maäzjáhoe.
The three and twentie to Deliah, the foure and twentie to Maaziah.
19 Dit was de indeling volgens hun ambtsbezigheden, die hierin bestonden, dat zij het heiligdom van Jahweh zouden betreden naar de verordeningen, die hun stamvader Aäron op bevel van Jahweh, den God van Israël, had uitgevaardigd.
These were their orders according to their offices, when they entred into the house of the Lord according to their custome vnder the hande of Aaron their father, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded him.
20 Wat de overige levieten betreft: De zonen van Amram waren Sjoebaël en Rechabjáhoe; die van Sjoebaël was Jechdejáhoe;
And of the sonnes of Leui that remained of the sonnes of Amram, was Shubael, of the sonnes of Shubael, Iedeiah,
21 die van Rechabjáhoe was het opperhoofd Jissji-ja.
Of Rehabiah. euen of the sonnes of Rehabiah, the first Isshiiah,
22 De zoon van Jishar was Sjelomot, die van Sjelomot was Jáchat.
Of Izhari, Shelomoth, of the sonnes of Shelomoth, Iahath,
23 De zonen van Chebron waren Jeri-jáhoe het opperhoofd; Amarjáhoe, de tweede; Jachaziël, de derde; en Jekamam, de vierde.
And his sonnes Ieriah the first, Amariah the second, Iahaziel the thirde, and Iekameam the fourth,
24 De zoon van Oezziël was Mika; de zoon van Mika was Sjamir;
The sonne of Vzziel was Michah, ye sonne of Michah was Shamir,
25 de broer van Sjamir was Jissji-ja. De zoon van Jissji-ja was Zekarjáhoe.
The brother of Michah was Isshiiah, the sonne of Isshiiah, Zechariah,
26 De zonen van Merari waren Machli en Moesji.
The sonnes of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi, the sonne of Iaaziiah was Beno,
27 De zonen van Merari, langs zijn zoon Jaäzi-jáhoe, waren Sjoham, Zakkoer en Ibri.
The sonnes of Merari of Iahaziah were Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur and Ibri.
28 De zoon van Machli was Elazar; deze had geen kinderen.
Of Mahli came Eleazar, which had no sonnes.
29 Van Kisj: de zoon van Kisj was Jerachmeël.
Of Kish. the sonne of Kish was Ierahmeel,
30 De zonen van Moesji waren Machli, Éder en Jerimot. Dit waren de verschillende families der levieten.
And the sonnes of Mushi were Mahli, and Eder, and Ierimoth: these were sonnes of the Leuites after the houshold of their fathers.
31 Zij wierpen evengoed het lot als hun broeders, de zonen van Aäron, en wel in tegenwoordigheid van den koning, van Sadok en Achimélek en van de familiehoofden der priesters en levieten. En de mindere families deden het evengoed als de voornamere.
And these also cast lots with their brethren the sonnes of Aaron before King Dauid, and Zadok and Ahimelech and the chiefe fathers of the Priests, and of the Leuites, euen the chiefe of the families against their yonger brethren.
