1 Saulo mane oyudo ni kanyo noyie gi nek mar Stefano. Kochakore chiengʼno kanisa man Jerusalem nochako yudo sand malit kendo giduto negiringo mi gikere e pinje mag Judea gi Samaria, makmana joote kende ema nodongʼ Jerusalem.
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Joma oluoro Nyasaye noyiko Stefano kendo ne giywage malit.
And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 E kindeno Saulo nochako sando kanisa kodonjo e ot ka ot kendo omako chwo gi mon moter e od twech.
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 Joma noke e pinje maokogo noyalo Injili kamoro amora mane gidhiye.
Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. (logos)
5 Filipo nodhi nyaka e dala mar Samaria mi olando Wach Kristo kuno.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 Kane oganda owinjo yalo mar Filipo, kendo kane gineno honni mane otimo, negimedo chiko itgi mondo giwinj wechene.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 Jochiende nowuok kuom ji mangʼeny ka giywak malit, kendo jo-athany kod pudhe nochangi.
For unclean spirits, (pneuma) crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 Omiyo dalano nopongʼ gi mor maduongʼ.
And there was great joy in that city.
9 Ne nitie ngʼat moro miluongo ni Simon. Ngʼatni nosebedo katimo timbe jwok e dala mar Samaria, kendo timbene nomako dho ji duto. Nosungore ni en ngʼama lich,
But there was a certain man, called Simon, which in time past in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 kendo jo-Samaria duto, jomatindo gi jomadongo, noyie kode. Negiluwo bangʼe ka gikok niya, “Ngʼatni nigi teko Nyasaye miluongo ni Teko Maduongʼ.”
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
11 Ji ne luwe nikech kinde mathoth nosemako dho ji gi timbene mag jwok.
And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 To kane Filipo oyalo ne jogo Injili mar pinyruoth Nyasaye, kod nying Yesu Kristo, ne giyie, mi giyudo batiso giduto, chwo gi mon.
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Simon owuon bende noyie, bangʼe noyudo batiso, kendo nosiko koluwo bangʼ Filipo kamoro amora mane odhiye, kowuoro ranyisi madongo kod honni ma noneno ka Filipo timo.
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Kane joote man Jerusalem owinjo ni jo-Samaria noserwako wach Nyasaye, negioro Petro gi Johana irgi.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word (logos) of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Kane gichopo, ne gilamonegi mondo giyud Roho Maler,
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: (pneuma)
16 nikech Roho Maler ne pok obiro kuom ngʼato angʼata kuomgi, to nosebatisgi mana e nying Ruoth Yesu.
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17 Bangʼe Petro gi Johana noyieyo lwetgi kuomgi mi giyudo Roho Maler.
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
18 Kane Simon oneno ni ji ne yudo Roho Maler ka joote oyieyo lwetgi kuomgi, nomiyogi pesa kowacho niya,
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit (pneuma) was given, he offered them money,
19 “An bende miyaeuru teko ma un-goni mondo ngʼato angʼata ma ayieyo lweta kuome oyud Roho Maler.”
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
20 To Petro nodwoke niya, “Mad pesagigo lal kodi nono, nikech chunyi wuondi ni inyalo ngʼiewo mich Nyasaye gi pesa!
But Peter said unto him, Your money perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Ionge gi migawo moro amora e tijwani, kendo kwan-ni onge e iye, nikech chunyi ok nikare e nyim Nyasaye.
You have neither part nor lot in this matter: (logos) for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Omiyo lokri iwe timni marachni, kendo ilam Ruoth Nyasaye, dipo ka oweyoni richoni kuom bedo gi paro marachno e chunyi.
Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 Nikech aneno ka chunyi opongʼ gi nyiego mangʼeny, kendo richo oloki misumbane chuth.”
For I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Eka Simon nodwoko niya, “Lamna Ruoth Nyasaye mondo gima rach misewacho kuomano kik timrena.”
Then answered Simon, and said, Pray all of you to the LORD for me, that none of these things which all of you have spoken come upon me.
25 Kane gisetimo neno kendo yalo wach Ruoth, Petro gi Johana nodok Jerusalem, ka giyalo Injili e miech Samaria mangʼeny.
And they, when they had testified and preached the word (logos) of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 Malaika mar Ruoth nowacho ni Filipo niya, “Koro aa malo idhi yo milambo, kiluwo yo mongʼado i thim moa Jerusalem kadhi Gaza.”
And the angel of the Lord spoke unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goes down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 Kuom mano, Filipo nochako wuoth, to kane oyudo odhi, noromo gi ja-Ethiopia mabwoch, mane en jatelo maduongʼ morito mwandu duto mag Kandake, “ruoth ma dhako mar jo-Ethiopia.” Ngʼatni noa lemo Jerusalem,
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem in order to worship,
28 kendo koro nodok dala, koidho gache kendo kosomo kitap Janabi Isaya.
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Isaiah the prophet.
29 Roho Maler nowacho ni Filipo niya, “Dhiyo mondo ichungʼ machiegni gi gari cha.”
Then the Spirit (pneuma) said unto Philip, Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.
30 Eka Filipo noringo odhi nyaka but garino mi owinjo ka ngʼatno somo kitap Janabi Isaya. Filipo nopenje niya, “Bende iwinjo tiend gima isomono?”
And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understand you what you read?
31 Ja-Ethiopia nodwoko Filipo niya, “Ere kaka dawinj tiende kaonge ngʼama olerona tiende?” Omiyo norwako Filipo mondo oidh obed kode ei gari.
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 Ne oyale angʼaya kimiye wichkuot. Bende en gi kothe ma ji noparego? Nikech ngimane nogol oko e piny.”
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 Jatelono nopenjo Filipo niya, “Yie inyisae ni Janabi wuoyo kuom ngʼa e Ndikoni? Owuoyo kuome owuon, koso owuoyo kuom ngʼat machielo?”
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray you, of whom speaks the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Eka Filipo nochako gi Ndiko kama ne ja-Ethiopiano somo, mi odhi nyime gi yalone Injili mar Yesu.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 Kane gimedo dhi nyime, negichopo kama pi moro ne nitie. Ja-Ethiopia nowachone Filipo niya, “Pi eri, angʼo ma dimona yudo batiso?” [
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized?
37 Filipo nodwoke niya, “Inyalo yudo batiso, kiyie gi chunyi duto.” Nodwoke niya, “Ee, ayie ni Yesu Kristo en Wuod Nyasaye.”]
And Philip said, If you believe with all of your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 Omiyo nochiwo chik mondo gari ochungʼ. Eka ne gilor gidhi e pi mi Filipo nobatise.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 To kane giwuok e pi, Roho Maler mar Ruoth Nyasaye nokawo Filipo apoya, mi ja-Ethiopiano ne ok ochako onene kendo to nodhi e wuodhe kopongʼ gi mor.
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit (pneuma) of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 Filipo nopo kochopo e dala mar Azoto, kendo nowuotho koni gi koni, koyalo Injili e mier duto nyaka nochopo Kaisaria.
But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
