耶利米书 42

1 众军长和加利亚的儿子约哈难，并何沙雅的儿子耶撒尼亚以及众百姓，从最小的到至大的都进前来，

Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, came near,

2 对先知耶利米说：“求你准我们在你面前祈求，为我们这剩下的人祷告耶和华—你的 神。我们本来众多，现在剩下的极少，这是你亲眼所见的。

and said to Jeremiah the prophet, "Please let our petition be presented before you, and pray for us to the LORD your God, even for all this remnant; for we are left but a few of many, as your eyes do see us:

3 愿耶和华—你的 神指示我们所当走的路，所当做的事。”

that the LORD your God may show us the way in which we should walk, and the thing that we should do."

4 先知耶利米对他们说：“我已经听见你们了，我必照着你们的话祷告耶和华—你们的 神。耶和华无论回答什么，我必都告诉你们，毫不隐瞒。”

Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, "I have heard you; look, I will pray to the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall happen that whatever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it to you; I will keep nothing back from you."

5 于是他们对耶利米说：“我们若不照耶和华—你的 神差遣你来说的一切话行，愿耶和华在我们中间作真实诚信的见证。

Then they said to Jeremiah, "The LORD be a true and faithful witness among us, if we do not do according to all the word with which the LORD your God shall send you to us.

6 我们现在请你到耶和华—我们的 神面前，他说的无论是好是歹，我们都必听从；我们听从耶和华—我们 神的话，就可以得福。”

Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send you; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God."

7 过了十天，耶和华的话临到耶利米。

It happened after ten days, that the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah.

8 他就将加利亚的儿子约哈难和同着他的众军长，并众百姓，从最小的到至大的都叫了来，

Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

9 对他们说：“耶和华—以色列的 神，就是你们请我在他面前为你们祈求的主，如此说：

and said to them, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition before him:

10 ‘你们若仍住在这地，我就建立你们，必不拆毁，栽植你们，并不拔出，因我为降与你们的灾祸后悔了。

'If you will still live in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I grieve over the distress that I have brought on you.

11 不要怕你们所怕的巴比伦王。’”耶和华说：“不要怕他！因为我与你们同在，要拯救你们脱离他的手。

Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do not be afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

12 我也要使他发怜悯，好怜悯你们，叫你们归回本地。

I will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy on you, and cause you to return to your own land.'

13 倘若你们说：‘我们不住在这地’，以致不听从耶和华—你们 神的话，

But if you say, 'We will not dwell in this land'; so that you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God,

14 说：‘我们不住这地，却要进入埃及地，在那里看不见争战，听不见角声，也不致无食饥饿。我们必住在那里。’

saying, 'No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell':

15 你们所剩下的犹大人哪，现在要听耶和华的话。万军之耶和华—以色列的 神如此说：‘你们若定意要进入埃及，在那里寄居，

now therefore hear the word of the LORD, O remnant of Judah: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'If you indeed set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to live there;

16 你们所惧怕的刀剑在埃及地必追上你们！你们所惧怕的饥荒在埃及要紧紧地跟随你们！你们必死在那里！

then it shall happen, that the sword, which you fear, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt; and the famine, about which you are afraid, shall follow close behind you there in Egypt; and there you shall die.

17 凡定意要进入埃及在那里寄居的必遭刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死，无一人存留，逃脱我所降与他们的灾祸。’

So shall it be with all the men who set their faces to go into Egypt to live there: they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring on them.'

18 “万军之耶和华—以色列的 神如此说：‘我怎样将我的怒气和忿怒倾在耶路撒冷的居民身上，你们进入埃及的时候，我也必照样将我的忿怒倾在你们身上，以致你们令人辱骂、惊骇、咒诅、羞辱，你们不得再见这地方。’

For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'As my anger and my wrath has been poured forth on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath be poured forth on you, when you shall enter into Egypt; and you shall be an object of horror, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and you shall see this place no more.'

19 所剩下的犹大人哪，耶和华论到你们说：‘不要进入埃及去。’你们要确实地知道我今日警教你们了。

The LORD has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah, 'Do not go into Egypt': know certainly that I have testified to you this day.

20 你们行诡诈自害；因为你们请我到耶和华—你们的 神那里，说：‘求你为我们祷告耶和华—我们 神，照耶和华—我们的 神一切所说的告诉我们，我们就必遵行。’

For you have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for you sent me to the LORD your God, saying, 'Pray for us to the LORD our God; and according to all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare to us, and we will do it':

21 我今日将这话告诉你们，耶和华—你们的 神为你们的事差遣我到你们那里说的，你们却一样没有听从。

and I have this day declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD your God in anything for which he has sent me to you.

22 现在你们要确实地知道，你们在所要去寄居之地必遭刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死。”

Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where you desire to go to live there."
