撒母耳记上 29

1 非利士人将他们的军旅聚到亚弗；以色列人在耶斯列的泉旁安营。

Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites camped by the spring which is in Jezreel.

2 非利士人的首领各率军队，或百或千，挨次前进；大卫和跟随他的人同着亚吉跟在后边。

The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish.

3 非利士人的首领说：“这些希伯来人在这里做什么呢？”亚吉对他们说：“这不是以色列王扫罗的臣子大卫吗？他在我这里有些年日了。自从他投降我直到今日，我未曾见他有过错。”

Then the leaders of the Philistines said, "What about these Hebrews?" And Achish said to the leaders of the Philistines, "Isn't this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years, and I have found no fault in him since he defected to me until this day?"

4 非利士人的首领向亚吉发怒，对他说：“你要叫这人回你所安置他的地方，不可叫他同我们出战，恐怕他在阵上反为我们的敌人。他用什么与他主人复和呢？岂不是用我们这些人的首级吗？

But the leaders of the Philistines were angry with him; and the leaders of the Philistines said to him, "Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where you have appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become an adversary to us. For with what should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Should it not be with the heads of these men?

5 从前以色列的妇女跳舞唱和说：‘扫罗杀死千千，大卫杀死万万’，所说的不是这个大卫吗？”

Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, 'Saul has slain his thousands, David his ten thousands?'"

6 亚吉叫大卫来，对他说：“我指着永生的耶和华起誓，你是正直人。你随我在军中出入，我看你甚好。自从你投奔我到如今，我未曾见你有什么过失；只是众首领不喜悦你。

Then Achish called David, and said to him, "As the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords do not favor you.

7 现在你可以平平安安地回去，免得非利士人的首领不欢喜你。”

Therefore now return, and go in peace, that you not displease the lords of the Philistines."

8 大卫对亚吉说：“我做了什么呢？自从仆人到你面前，直到今日，你查出我有什么过错，使我不去攻击主—我王的仇敌呢？”

David said to Achish, "But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?"

9 亚吉说：“我知道你在我眼前是好人，如同 神的使者一般；只是非利士人的首领说：‘这人不可同我们出战。’

Achish answered David, "I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Nevertheless the leaders of the Philistines have said, 'He shall not go up with us to the battle.'

10 故此你和跟随你的人，就是你本主的仆人，要明日早晨起来，等到天亮回去吧！”

Therefore now rise up early in the morning, you and the servants of your lord who have come with you, and go to the place which I allotted to you. As for evil remarks, take none to heart; for you are good in my sight. And as soon as you are up early in the morning, and have light, depart."

11 于是大卫和跟随他的人早晨起来，回往非利士地去。非利士人也上耶斯列去了。

So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. The Philistines went up to Jezreel.
