< Jeremiah 28 >

1 Judah lengpa Zedekiah lengchan kalkumli lhin kum, alha-nga lhin chun, nikhat Gibeon khomi Azzur chapa Hananiah chun, Pakai Houin ah, thempu holeh mipi angsung’a, keima jahtah in, hitin aseiye.
It happened in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year and the fifth month, Hananiah son of Azzur the prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in Yahweh's house in front of the priests and all the people. He said,
2 Hatchung nung Pakai, Israel Pathen chun hitin aseiye. Keiman, angonguva nakihennau Babylon lengpa namkol chu kaheboh’a kalah doh ding ahitai.
“Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this: I have broken the yoke imposed by the king of Babylon.
3 Keiman kumni sung’a, Nebuchadnezzar lengpan Babylon gam’a anapoh mang, Houin sung gouthil ho jouse, kahin le pohlut kitding ahi.
Within two years I will bring back to this place all the objects belonging to Yahweh's house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took from this place and transported to Babylon.
4 Chule Babylon gam’a, sohchang’a kikaimang Judah lengpa Jehoiakim chapa Jehoiachin leh midangho jouse jong, keiman kahin le puilut kitding ahi. Keiman Babylon lengpa namkol nangonguva kihen chu kaheboh ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye,’ati.
Then I will bring back to this place Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the captives of Judah who were sent to Babylon—this is Yahweh's declaration—for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.”
5 Hichun Jeremiah themgao pan jong, Thempu holeh mipi ho angsung’a chun, Hananiah chu a donbut in.
So Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Hananiah the prophet in front of the priests and to all the people who stood in Yahweh's house.
6 Hitin aseiye, “Amen, nasei bang chun guilhung hen! Pakaiyin nagaothu seiho chu abonchan, na sei bang bang in boltei hen! Babylon gam’a sohchang a kikaimang ho leh Houin sunga kon’a kipomang goulu ho, abonchan hiche mun hinnung lhut teitei hen!
Jeremiah the prophet said, “May Yahweh do this! May Yahweh confirm the words that you prophesied and bring back to this place the objects belonging to Yahweh's house, and all the captives from Babylon.
7 Amavang nangma jah dingle mipite jah dinga, tunia keiman hiche thu kasei hi, phaten ngaiyin.
However, listen to the word that I am proclaiming in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people.
8 Nang le kei masanga themgao hon, khanglui laiya pat, namtin vaipi douna gaothu anaseiyuvin, gal umding, kel lhah ding, gamna hise chom chom in miho gihna ananeiyuvin ahi.
The prophets who existed before me and you from long ago also prophesied about many nations and against great kingdoms, about war, famine, and plague.
9 Chuti ahijeh chun, Themgao khat in chamna leh monna gaothu asei chu, mutheiya ahung guilhun teng le bou, amapa chu Pakaiya kon ahi mong e, iti eihon ihetbep dingu ahi, ati.
So the prophet who prophesies that there will be peace—if his word comes true, then it will be known that he is indeed a prophet sent out by Yahweh.”
10 Hichun Hananiah themgao pan Jeremiah ngong’a kihen namkol chu, aladoh in aheh bongtai.
But Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
11 Chuin Hannaniah jong chun, mipite jah dingin, avelin thu aseiyin, ‘Pakaiyin hitin aseiye: Keiman namtin vaipi sohchanna angonguva kihen, Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar namkol chu, kumni sunga kalahdoh a, kaheboh ding ahi, ati. Hichun Jeremiah themgao chun Houin adalhan achetai.
Then Hananiah spoke in front of all the people and said, “Yahweh says this: Just like this, within two years I will break from off the neck of every nation the yoke imposed by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.” Then Jeremiah the prophet went on his way.
12 Hananiah themgaopa toh akidinte jou chun, Pakaiyin Jeremiah henga thu ahinsei kittai.
After Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying,
13 Chenlang Hananiah chu gaseipehtan, “Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, nangman thing nam-kol in nakheltai.
“Go and speak to Hananiah and say, 'Yahweh says this: You broke a yoke of wood, but I will make instead a yoke of iron.'
14 Ijeh inem itile, Hatchungnung Pakai Israel Pathen in hitin aseiye: Keiman namtin vaipi ngong’a thih namkol kakoipih’a, amaho chu Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar soh’a pangdin ahi. Chule keiman ijakai ama thunoiya kakoi ding, gamsa ho geiya ama kapeh doh ahi, tin seipeh in, ati.
For Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, says this: I have placed a yoke of iron on the neck of all of these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I have also given him the wild beasts in the fields to rule over.”
15 Chuin Jeremiah themgao chun, Hananiah jah’a hitin aseiye. “Phaten ngaiyin, Hananiah! Pakaiyin nangma nasol ahipoi. Ahivangin, tun mipiten jouva gaothu nasei hi, atahsan uve.
Next Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen Hananiah! Yahweh has not sent you, but you yourself have caused this people to believe in lies.
16 Hijeh Chun Pakaiyin hitin aseiye. Nangma nathi teiding ahi. Nangman Pakai doumah nabol jeh’a, tukum sung’a nathi tei ding ahi, ati.
So Yahweh says this: Look, I am about to send you out from the earth. You will die this year, since you proclaimed rebellion against Yahweh.”
17 Hichun, lhani jouvin Hananiah themgaopa chu athitai.
In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.
