< Esther 2 >

1 Xerxes lunghan adailhah phat in, Vashti in ipi anabolla chule aman ama chung chang ipi dan anasem am ti ahin gel pantan ahi.
After these things, when the wrath of King Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.
2 Hijeh chun lengpa kinaipi, thumop phabep in akomah, “Naleng gamsunga nang dingin nungah theng, amel hoitah khat lhengdoh uhite tin,” ngehna aneitaovin ahi.
Then said the young men of the king, who waited upon him, —Let them seek out for the king young virgins, of pleasing appearance;
3 “Na lenggam sunga gambih sung tinnah khangdong numei melhoitah ho hinpuija Susa khopi sung lengte numei kholna munna hinkhol khomding nganse phabep kipansah henlang, lengpa inpia nukiso ho lah a lamkai Hegai hin numei kikholna munna umho chu amellu ahoithei nadiuva akijen ding dan nu hin vesui dingin kinganse hen.
and let the king appoint officers throughout all the provinces of his kingdom, and let them gather together every young virgin of pleasing appearance unto Shusan the palace, unto the house of the women, into the custody of Hegai eunuch of the king, keeper of the women, and let there be given the things needed for their purification;
4 Hiche jouteng chuleh khangdong numei ho lah a lengpa lung lhaisah theipen chu Vashti khellin lengnu kihisah hen,” atiuve. Hiche thumop hin lengpa alung lhaisah lheh jengin, hijeh chun hiche tohgon chu achelhah sahtai.
and, the maiden that is pleasing in the eyes of the king, let her be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing seemed good in the eyes of the king, and he did so.
5 Hiche laitah chun Susa khopi sunga chun Jair chapa Mordecai kiti Judate mikhat ana um'in ahi. Amachu Benjamin phung sunga Kish le Shimei chilhah khat anahi.
A certain Jew, there was, in Shusan the palace, —whose, name, was Mordecai, son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Kish, a man of Benjamin;
6 Amahi Nebuchadnezzer lengpan Juda lengpa Jehoiachin Jerusalema konna Babylon na ahin kailut tha holah a insung mikhat ahi.
who had been exiled from Jerusalem, with the exiles who were carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, —whom, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, exiled.
7 Hiche mipa hin Hadassah ahilou leh Esther tiajong kihe, apangahpa chanu khat ana vahdoh ahin, amanu hi mimel hoitah leh dei umtah nungah ahi. Amahi anule apa athi phatna Mordecai hin ainsung mikhatna ahin kilah lutna achanu tabang banga ahn kikhou khah ahi.
And it came to pass, that he was bringing up Hadassah, the same, was Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother, —and, the maiden, was of beautiful form and pleasing appearance, and when her father and mother died, Mordecai took her for his own daughter.
8 Lengpa dan thupeh dungjuija khangdong numei dang tamtah toh Susa khopi sunga leng in na numei kikholna mun ah ahin puilut’un Hegai vesuina noijah akoi taovin ahi.
So it came to pass, when the king’s command and decree was heard, and there had been gathered together many maidens unto Shusan the palace, unto the custody of Hegai, that Esther was taken into the house of the king, unto the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women;
9 Amanu hin Hegai chu alung lhaisah lheh jengin hijeh chun amanjong Esther chu khohsahna neitah in ajen pantan ahi. Aman gangtah in nehle chah atuipen agonpeh in, amelhoina dinga akinuding jong agonpeh loi jengin ahi. Aman amanu jenle dingin leng inpia kon in nungah sagi agonpeh in numei kikholna a mun nompen laitah a ajenle nungah hotoh aumsah in ahi.
and the maiden was pleasing in his eyes, and she received lovingkindness before him, and he hastened to give her, the things needed for her purification, and things apportioned her, and to give her, seven select maidens, out of the house of the king, —and he removed her and her maidens to the best place in the house of the women.
10 Mordecai in aseipeh dungjuijin amanu hin koi nam mi koi insunga kon ahi koimacha kom’a aseidoh pon ahi.
Esther had not told of her people, nor of her kindred, —for, Mordecai, had laid charge upon her, that she should not tell.
11 Niseh in, Mordecai chun Esther chunga chu itobang thu sohtam ti ahetnom jeh'in numeiho kikholna munlai tah leitol vella chun avahle le jin ahi.
And, throughout every day, Mordecai, used to walk to and fro, before the court of the house of the women, —to get to know the welfare of Esther, and what would be done with her.
12 Hiche nungah hochu lengpa jalkhunna akipuilut masangin lha somleni melhoina dinga kijenna phat chu kipea ahi; lhagup sungchu Myrrh thao kinuding, lhagup ma chu gim namtui phapen ho akinudiu ahi.
Now, when the turn of each maiden came, to go in unto King Ahasuerus, after it had been done to her according to the law of the women for twelve months, for, so, were filled the days of their purification, —six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes, and with things for the purification of the women,
13 Lengpa kom’a acheding tengleh numei kikholna konna chu numei kijep pahna thil itobang hijongleh akichoi nom penkhat akichoi ding ahi.
then, indeed, the maiden came in unto the king, —whatsoever she might mention, was given her, to go with her, out of the house of the women up to the house of the king:
14 Hiche nilhah teng chuleh amanu chu lengpa indan tumbeh khatna kipuilut ding, chujou teng ajing jingkah tengle lengpa inpi numei kholna anichanna lengpa jite chenna a chu puilut ding ahi. Hichea chu lengpa thaikem ho chingpa Shaashgaz vetsuina noija umdiu ahi. Amachu ijemtia lengpan ngaichatna aneija aminna ahinkou tilouva lengpa kom’a chu lutkit lou helding ahi.
in the evening, she went in, and, in the morning, she returned—unto the second house of the women, unto the custody of Shaashgaz the king’s eunuch, who kept the concubines, —she went not in again unto the king, except the king delighted in her, and she were called by name.
15 Esther chu Mordecai pangah Abihail chanu ahi (Mordecai jin apangahpa chanu khangdongcha Esther chu ahin vahdoh ahi). Lengpa kom’a Esther chephat ahung hiphat in, numei kholna a avesui apang nukiso Hegai in ahilna chengse chu akimel chih in ahi. Amanun thildang imacha donlouvin amapan aseipeh bouchu akichoijin ahileh amujousen a-ot chalheh jengun ahi.
But, when the turn came for Esther daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai—who had taken her as his own daughter—to go in unto the king, she requested nothing, save what Hegai the king’s eunuch who kept the women might direct, —but so it was, that Esther obtained favour in the eyes of all who beheld her.
16 Esther chu leng Xerxes avaihomna kum sagi channa phalbi hunglhun tilchun lengpa khopia lengpa koma chun apuilut’un ahi.
So then Esther was taken unto King Ahasuerus, into his royal house, in the tenth month, the same, was the month Tebeth, —in the seventh year of his reign.
17 Lengpan khangdong numei dangho sangin alungset jon ahi. Lengpan amanu chu adeilheh jengin, hijeh chun lallukhuh chu akhuhpeh in Vashti khellin lengnun atung tan ahi.
And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained favour and lovingkindness before him, above all the virgins, —so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen, instead of Vashti.
18 Hiche chu alopna in Esther min’in milen milal holeh vaihom hochu golvah abolpeh in gambih ho jousea nikhat choldo nikho alhapeh in kipa thilpeh jong mijouse apen ahi.
Then the king made a great banquet, for all his rulers and his servants, the banquet of Esther, —and, a remission, for all the provinces, made he, and gave a present, according to the bounty of a king.
19 Khangdong numei hochu numei kholna anichanna a chu asollut jouvun, chule Mordecai chu khopi sunga vaihom khat in ahungpang tan ahi.
Now, when virgins were gathered together second time, then, Mordecai, was sitting in the gate of the king.
20 Hichan geijin jong Esther chun anam leh akonna insung aphongdoh hih laiye. Aman Mordecai in na aumlaija athu angai bangin tunjong athupeh ajui nalaije
Esther had not told of her kindred, nor her people, as, Mordecai, had laid charge upon her, —and, the command of Mordecai, Esther performed, like as when she was being brought up with him.
21 Nikhat hi Mordecai chu lengpa kotpi kom’a anatohna munna ana toupet chun lengpa dinga nukiso, lengpa achom’a agena indan ngah teni Bigthan le Teresh chu lengpa Xerxes chunga alung hang lhonnin thadoh dingin agong lhontan ahi.
In those days, when, Mordecai, was sitting in the gate of the king, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the eunuchs of the king who guarded the threshold, were wroth, and sought to thrust a hand upon King Ahasuerus;
22 Ahinlah Mordecai jin athilgon lhonchu ana jadoh in lengnu Esther kom’a chun thu chu analhut in ahi. Amanun hichu lengpa kom’a aseidoh in Mordecai akonna kihedoh ahichu ana hetsah e.
but the thing became known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen, —and Esther told it unto the king, in the name of Mordecai.
23 Hichu kholtohna aneijun ahile Mordecai thusei chu adih monge ti photchetna aum phat in nukiso teni chu thingchunga akhailih taovin ahi. Hichehi Xerxes lengpa thusimbua akijih lut tan ahi.
And, when the thing was searched into and found [true], then were they two hanged upon the gallows, and it was written, in the book of the chronicles, before the king.
