< 1 Corinth 14 >

1 Ngailut hi nalungtup sangpen'u hihen. Hintin Lhagao thilpeh thilbol theina aphadehset chu-adehset'a Pathen Thuseidoh theina lhagao thilpeh chu nalunga na ngaichat'u hihen.
Labour after charity, and be desirous of spiritual gifts: but especially that ye may prophesy.
2 Ajehchu nangman pao chomchom thotheina thilpeh chu changin lang, miho chun na thusei heta hih ule, nangma Pathen tobou kihoulima nahi ding ahitai. Nangman Lhagao thahat'a thu nasei chu hinan natin, hijongleh hiche ho chu het hahsa hiding ahitai.
For he, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, speaketh not to men, but to God: for no one understandeth, though in spirit he speaketh mysteries.
3 Hinlah Pathen Thusei doh a vang chun midang ahatsah a, atilkhouva chule amaho chu alhamonsah ahi.
But he, that prophesieth, speaketh edification, and exhortation, and comfort to men.
4 Paochom chom thoa chu amatah kitil khouva ahin, hinla Pathen Thusei doh a chun Houbung apumpia athahatsah ahi.
He, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, edifieth himself: but he, that prophesieth, edifieth the church.
5 Nabonchauva paochom chom nathotheiyu hileh katilheh in, hinla nabon chauva Pathen Thusei doh theina joh neileu chun kadeijoi. Ajeh chu Pathen Thusei doh chu houbung apumpia kitil khouna dinga pao chomchom tho sanga kiphamo joa ahi.
I could wish that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edification.
6 Kasopi deitahte ho, keima nakomuva hung ingting hetlou pao khat in thu seileng, hichu iti naphat chompi thei dingu ham? Hinla keiman thu kiphong doh a kona ahilouleh hetsahna jat chombeh a kona ahilouleh Pathen Thusei doh a kona ahilouleh thuhila kona naphat chomna dingu kahin pohpeh u hileh kati.
Now, my brethren, if I come to you speaking with many tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak intelligibly to you of revelation, or knowledge, or prophecy, or doctrine?
7 Tumging manchah ho: theile ahilouleh selangdah ho jengjong hinna neilou ahivanga paocheng kicheh tah a thu kisei toh tekah thei ahiuve. Ajeh chu ahiding banga suhging ahilouleh koima chan agin ngei chu ahetdoh theilou dingu ahi.
As inanimate things which give a found, whether pipe or harp, unless they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall what is piped or harped be understood?
8 Chule sumkon mutgin akicheh louleh, sepaiho chun galsatna a dinga kikou ahiu iti ahetdoh thei dingu ham?
For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle?
9 Chutobang chu ahi nangho jong, nang hon miho chu ahetlou paovin gahou leu chun, nang hon ipi naseiyu chu amahon iti ahet dingu hitam? Mun onglaiya thusei tobang bep nahiu ahitai.
So also unless ye utter by the tongue intelligible words, how shall what is spoken be understood? for thus ye will be only talking to the wind.
10 Vannoiya hin paojat chom chom tampi aumin, chule pao kiti hin athuko aum cheh e.
There are, it may be, as many kinds of voices in the world as people, and none of them insignificant.
11 Hinlah keiman paokhat chu hetahih leng, thuseipa dinga chu gamdang mi kahi ding, chule thuseipa chu keima dinga gamdang mi hiding ahitai.
But if I know not the force of the words, I shall be to him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh will be a barbarian to me.
12 Chule nangho dinga jong chutima chu ahi. Nangho Lhagaovin thilbol theina apeh thua hetnomna neneiyu ahin, houbung apumpia tilkhou theina ding chu hol'un.
So ye also, since ye are so desirous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound in them to the edification of the church.
13 Hitia chu paochom chom thoa chun akiseidoh ho chu ledoh theina dinga jong tao ding ahi.
Wherefore let him, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, pray that he may interpret.
14 Ajehchu keima paochom chom thoa kataova ahileh, kalhagao chu atao ahinan, hinla ipi kasei chu keiman kahepoi.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit indeed prayeth, but my meaning is fruitless.
15 Chuti ahileh ikatia pha ham? Keima Lhagaovin tao ingting, chule kahetna thuchenga jong tao vinge. Keiman Lhagaovin la sangting, chule kahet thei thuchenga la sang kate.
What is then to be done? I will pray with the Spirit, but I will pray to be understood: I will sing with the spirit, but I will sing to be understood.
16 Ajehchu nangman Pathen chu lhagao bouva na vahchoi ahileh, nangma nahe loubeh ho tochun Pathen chu iti navahchoi khom thei dingu ham? Nangman ipi nasei ahijong helou ho chu thangvahnaa iti nangma to pangkhom thei dingu ham?
For if thou bless in the spirit, how shall the unlearned say Amen to thy thanksgiving, when he knoweth not what thou sayst?
17 Nangman thangvahna chu phatah in penan nate, hinla nangma thangvahna chun miho chu thahatsahna pechomdeh ponte.
thou indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18 Nangho chengse koipen sanga pao kaha thothei joh jal jeh hin Pathen kathangvah in ahi.
I thank God, I speak with tongues more than you all.
19 Hinlah houbung kikhop khomna a keiman hettheiya thucheng nga seidoh ding chu hetlou paova thucheng sangsom seisang in kanomjoi.
But in a public assembly I had rather speak five words to be understood, that I may instruct others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
20 Sopi deitah teho, hicheho hetkhenna a hin chapang ngol bang hih un. Aselam ahipouva ahileh khohelou chapang tobang hiuvin, hinla hetkhen themna lampang thua pilhing tah hiuvin.
My brethren, be not children in sense: but in malice be infants, and in your judgements shew yourselves to be men.
21 Hiche hi Pathen Thubua akisun'e, “Keiman kamite ho jah a pao jahkhahlou ho kaman ding chule gamdang mi ho kamanchah ding ahi. Ahijeng vang'in, hiche jenga jong chu amaho kasei thua nunglou dingu ahi,” tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
It is written in the law, "By men of another language, and by other lips, will I speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to me, saith the Lord."
22 Hitia hi nangman paochomchom tho hi atahsan ho dinga hilouva atahsan louho dinga amel chihna ahi ti nahetai. Pathen Thuseidoh vang hi atahsanlou hoa ding hilouva, atahsan hoa ding ahi.
So that tongues are for a sign, not to believers but to unbelievers: but prophecy not to unbelievers but to those that believe.
23 Hitobangma chun, hitiho hetna neilou ahilouleh atahsanlou ho hu'ah na-houbung uva hungu henlang, chule amichang cheh in hetlou paova thu kisei chu jataleu amaho chun angol uva ahitai tia agel dingu ahi.
If then the whole church be come together and all speak in unknown tongues, and there come in illiterate persons, or infidels, will they not say that ye are mad?
24 Hinlah nangho jousen Pathen Thu naseiyuva, atahsan lou khat ahilouleh miho hicheho hetna neilou nakikhop nauva hung uleh, amahon chonsetna kigeldoh uvintin chule nathuseiyu chun athu atan ding ahi.
But if all prophesy, and there come in an unbeliever, or one unlearned, he is convinced by all, he is judged by all.
25 Amahon angaiyuva ahileh, aguhthim thu uchu kilangdoh intin, chule amaho chu akhup uva dilsu uvintin chule Pathen ahou uva, “Hikom'a nalah uva hin Pathen aume ati dingu ahi.”
And thus the secrets of his heart are made manifest; so that falling down upon his face he will worship God, declaring that God is indeed among you.
26 Aphai, kasopiteho, seichom leuhen, Nangho nakikhop khom teng uleh mi khat'in lasa hen, midang khat'in thuhil hen, achom dangma chun Pathen in ahenga gotchombeh a aphondoh chu sei hen, mikhat'in paochom chom tho henlang, chule michom khat in ipi kiseina ahi chu ledoh hen. Ahin akibol jouse chu nangho jouse tahsan hatsahna hihen.
What is then to be done, my brethren? when ye come together, if any of you hath a psalm, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, an interpretation, ---let all be done for edification.
27 Mi-ni ahilouleh mi-thum kalvalin paoho thoda hen. Amaho chun amasan khatbou seisah uhen, chule amahon aseiyu chu mikhat'in ipi asei chu ledoh peh pai hen.
And if any one speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at most by three, and that by turns; and let one interpret.
28 Hinlah koima alethei aumlouva ahileh, amaho chu nakikhop nauva chun thipbeh in touvu hen, chule achang uvin Pathen koma seijo uhen.
But if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in the assembly; and let him speak to himself and to God.
29 Mi-ni ahilouleh mi-thum'in gaothu seiyuhen, chule midangsen akiseidoh cheng chu datkhenna neiyuhen.
And let but two or three of the prophets speak, and the others judge.
30 Ahin koiham khat'in Pathen Thu aseiya chule michom dang khat in Pakaiya kona thuphondoh amu leh, Thuseipa chu thip jeng hen.
And if any thing be revealed to another sitting by, let the first have done speaking before the other begins.
31 Hitia hi Pathen Thusei hon thuseina phat banneicha anei cheh dingu, hitia hi amichang cheh in hetna anei dingu chule kitilkhou ding ahitauve.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 Pathen Thusei chun alhagaovu kithunun theina aneiyun, chule ama phat akinga theidiu ahiye.
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets:
33 Ajehchu Pathen hi akisunohphah thei Pathen ahipoi hinla cham-lungmon Pathen hijoa ahi, Pathen mithengte ho kikhop khomna jouse ngai bangin.
for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as we see in all the assemblies of the saints.
34 Numeiho hi houbung kaikhomna a thipbeh ding ahiuve. Amaho dingin thusei chu alompoi. Amaho thunoiya um dingu, chonna danin asei tobang hidiu ahi.
Let your women be silent in your assemblies: for it is not permitted to them to speak, but they are to be in subjection, as the law saith.
35 Amahon thudoh nom aneiyuva ahileh ajipateu inmuna akidoh dingu ahi, ajeh chu numei ho dinga houbung kikhop khomna a thusei chu umdan dihlou ahi.
And if they would learn any thing, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it does not become women to speak in a public assembly.
36 Ahilouleh Pathen Thu hi nangho Corinth mite ho a pat'a hung kipan'ah ahi tia ngaitoa nahiuvem? Nangho kom bouva Thu hi kipedoh a nangaitou ham?
Did the word of God come out first from you? or did it come to you only?
37 Nangho themgaova nakigel uva ahilouleh lhagao mia kigel nahiuleh, keiman nangho kaseipeh hi Pakai Amatah a kona thupeh ahi.
If any one seem to be a prophet, or acted by the Spirit, let him acknowlege that what I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.
38 Hinlah nanghon hiche hi nahet dohlou uva ahileh, nangho tah jong hetdoh nahilou dingu ahi.
But if any will be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Hitihin, kasopi deitah teho, Pathen Thusei nomna neiyun, chule paochom chom tho jong jada hih un.
Wherefore, my brethren, be most desirous to prophesy, and yet forbid not to speak with tongues:
40 Hinlah imalam jouseah kitup tah le kisuhsela bola hiuvin.
but let all things be done decently and in order.
