Luke 16
1 Jesu ing a hubatkhqi venawh: “Thlang boei pynoet awm nawh anih a tangka ak khoemkung ing tangka poeih pe kang hy tinawh amik kqawn ce zahy.
And he said also unto the disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he was wasting his goods.
2 Cedawngawh a boei ing khy nawh doet hy, ‘Na kawng kang zaak ve ikawmyihna a awmnaak? Tangka na khoem ce nim huh lah, ka tangka ak koemkung na am awm hly voel hyk ti,’ tina hy.
And he called him, and said unto him, What is this that I hear of thee? render the account of thy stewardship; for thou canst be no longer steward.
3 Cedawngawh tangka ak khoemkung ing ‘ikawmyihna nu ka ti lah kaw? Ka boeipa ing ka bibi awm ni qoek hly sak hawh hy. Dek deng aham awm kak tha am awm koek, thlang a venawh kut dun aham awm chak koek bai nyng.
And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, seeing that my lord taketh away the stewardship from me? I have not strength to dig; to beg I am ashamed.
4 Ka sai hly taw sim hawh nyng, cawh ni bibi ani phawh awhtaw thlangkhqi ing kai ve ami im awh ami ni do hly hy,’ tihy.
I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
5 Cedawngawh a boeipa a ik-oeih ak pukhqi ce khy hy. Lamma cyk awhkaw thlang ce khy nawh, ‘Ka boeipa a koe ik-oeih izah nu nak pu peek? tina hy.
And calling to him each one of his lord’s debtors, he said to the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
6 Anih ing, ‘Olive situi boet zaqeet,’ tina hy. Law lah, ang tawnna ngawi nawhtaw zali na sai mai,’ tina hy.
And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bond, and sit down quickly and write fifty.
7 Cekcoengawh a pak khihnaak awhkaw thlang ce doet tlaih bai hy, ‘Nang law izah nak pu? tina hy. “Anih ing, ‘Canghum sum thongkhat,’ tina hy. Tangka ak pukung ing, ‘Nak punaak cahawn ce lo nawhtaw sum zaqeet na sai mai,’ tina hy.
Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. He saith unto him, Take thy bond, and write fourscore.
8 Amak thym na bi ak bi tangka ak khoemkung ing cyihnaak ing bi a bi dawngawh a boeipa ing kyih am cah hy. Ve khawmdek thlangkhqi ing a mimah a ik-oeih ami sai awhtaw vangnaak khuiawh ak awmkhqi anglakawh awm cyi ngai uhy. (aiōn g165)
And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light. (aiōn g165)
9 Nangmih a venawh ka nik kqawn peek khqi, pyi sainaak aham khawmdek boeinaak ce hawna lah uh, cawh ni ce mihkhqi boeih a boeih coengawh, a mingmih ing kumqui awmnaak hun awh nangmih ce ani do hly khqi hy. (aiōnios g166)
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles. (aiōnios g166)
10 U awm ik-oeih a khoehca awh ypawm na ak awm taw ik-oeih khawzah awh awm ypawm na awm hy, cehlai ik-oeih a khoehca awh ypawm na amak awm taw ik-oeih khawzah awh awm upvoet na awm hy.
He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much.
11 Khawmdek boeinaak awh zani ama ypawm awhtaw, u ing nu boeimangnaak tang tang ce ani khoem sak kaw?
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]?
12 Thlang a ik-oeih awh ypvoet na na awm coengawh taw, u ing nu nang ce ik-oeih a ni peek kaw?
And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?
13 Tyihzoeih thlang pynoet ing boei pakkhih a bi pakkhih am bawk thai hy. Pynoet ce sawh na kawmsaw pynoet ce lungna kaw, am awhtaw pynoet ce ypna kawmsaw pynoet taw hep kaw. Khawsa bi ingkaw tangka bi am bawk hly thai qen hyk ti,’ tinak khqi hy.
No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
14 Tangka amik thintlawhnaak Farasikhqi ing ce ak awi ce a ming zaak awh Jesu ce qaih na uhy.
And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him.
15 Jesu ing a mingmih a venawh, “Thlang amik huh awh nangmih ing thlakdyng na sa qu uhyk ti, cehlai Khawsa ing nangmih ak kawlung ce sim hy. Thlang ing a phu ak tlo soeih na a taak ce Khawsa mik huh awhtaw tyih cu hy.
And he said unto them, Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
16 Johan a khuk dy ni anaa awi ingkaw tangkakhqi ca qee ce amik khypyi hy. Cekcoengawh kawng Khawsa ram awithang ce khypyi hawh uhy, thlang boeih ing ce ak khuiawh kun aham tha lo uhy.
The law and the prophets [were] until John: from that time the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and every man entereth violently into it.
17 Anaa awi awhkaw a dek zet ce ang qeng anglakawhtaw khawk khan ingkaw khawmdek ang qeng zoei bet kaw.
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tittle of the law to fall.
18 U ingawm a zu thla nawh nuk chang a lawh awhtaw samphaih hy, thlang a zuk thlak ak zunaak awm samphaih toeng toeng hy.
Every one that putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth one that is put away from a husband committeth adultery.
19 Kuiqang thlang pynoet awm nawh hik thim ingkaw hi ak leek leek ing myngawi ang thoeihcam qu coengawh awm hly poepa hy.
Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, faring sumptuously every day:
20 Ak chawmkeng a keng awh Lazaru ak mingnaak kut ak dun thlang pynoet ce awm hy, a pum boeih na phoei ing bawm nawh,
and a certain beggar named Lazarus was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 kuiqang a caboei awhkaw ak tla awkdik aidik ce ai aham ngaih hy. Uikhqi ing ak phoei ce leek pe uhy.
and desiring to be fed with the [crumbs] that fell from the rich man’s table; yea, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 Cawhkaw kut ak dun thlang ce thi nawh khan ceityihkhqi ing Abraham a venna khyn uhy. Kuiqang thlang awm thi lawt nawh pup uhy.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: and the rich man also died, and was buried.
23 Hell khuina khuikha a sim cilh cilh awh ak hla nakawng Abraham ingkaw a venawh Lazaru ak awm ce hu hy. (Hadēs g86)
And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. (Hadēs g86)

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things: but now here he is comforted, and thou art in anguish.

And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that they which would pass from hence to you may not be able, and that none may cross over from thence to us.
27 Cawh anih ing, ‘cawhtaw ka pa Abraham, qeennaak thoeh law nyng, Lazaru ce Ka pa im na tyi cang lah,
And he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house;

for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham ing, ‘Mosi ingkaw tawnghakhqi ta hawh usaw ti a; cekkhqi ak awi ce ngai mai u seh,’ tina hy.
But Abraham saith, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 Anih ing, ‘Amni, ka pa Abraham, thlak thi ak khuiawh kawng thlang pynoet oet a mingmih a venna a ceh mantaw thawlh zut kawm uh,’ tina hy.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one go to them from the dead, they will repent.
31 Abraham ing a venawh, ‘Mosi ingkaw tawnghakhqi ak awi ce a maming ngai awhtaw, thihnaak ak khuiawh kawng thlang tho nawh kqawn pe bai seiawm am ngai hly uhy,’ tina hy,” tinak khqi hy.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.
