At which time the myriads of the multitude having been gathered together, so as to tread upon one another, he began to say unto his disciples, first, 'Take heed to yourselves of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy;
2 Amang dangnaak aham ikaw awm thuh am awm kawmsaw, amni sim kawi ang hyp ikawawm am awm kaw.
and there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known;
3 Thannaak awh na mik kqawn ce khawkdai awh thlang ing za kaw, ipkhui awh a khoeh cana thlang ang haa keng awh na mik kqawn ce iptih nakawng khypyi kawm uh.
because whatever in the darkness ye said, in the light shall be heard: and what to the ear ye spake in the inner-chambers, shall be proclaimed upon the house-tops.
4 Ka pyikhqi, ka nik kqawn peek khqi, 'pum him thai unawh, cekcoengawh ikawawm amak sai thai qoe voelkhqi ce koeh kqih uh.
'And I say to you, my friends, be not afraid of those killing the body, and after these things are not having anything over to do;
5 Cehlai na mik kqih hly kawi ce nim huh khqi vang nyng: A him coengawh hell khuina thlaknaak thai ak ta ce kqih uh. Oeih, ka nik kqawn peek khqi, anih ce kqih uh. (Geenna g1067)
but I will show to you, whom ye may fear; Fear him who, after the killing, is having authority to cast to the gehenna; yes, I say to you, Fear ye Him. (Geenna g1067)
6 Hqit ca pumha ce tangka pia pakkhih na zawi u hy? Cehlai Khawsa ing cekkhqi khuiawh pynoet ca awm am hilh hy.
'Are not five sparrows sold for two assars? and one of them is not forgotten before God,

but even the hairs of your head have been all numbered; therefore fear ye not, than many sparrows ye are of more value.
8 Ka nik kqawn peek khqi, thlang a haiawh kai anik dyihpyi taw Khawsa ak khan ceityihkhqi a haiawh Thlanghqing Capa ing anih ce dyihpyi lawt kaw.
'And I say to you, Every one — whoever may confess with me before men, the Son of Man also shall confess with him before the messengers of God,
9 Cehlai u awm thlang a haiawh kai anik hoet taw Khawsa ak khan ceityihkhqi haiawh anih ce hoet lawt kawng nyng.
and he who hath denied me before men, shall be denied before the messengers of God,
10 U awm Thlanghqing Capa ing ak kalh na awi ak kqawn taw qeenkhaw ngainaak hu kaw, cehlai u awm Ciim Myihla ak kqawn seet ak thlang taw qeenkhaw ngainaak am hu voel kaw.
and every one whoever shall say a word to the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven to him, but to him who to the Holy Spirit did speak evil, it shall not be forgiven.
11 Sinakawk, ukkung khqi ingkaw boeikhqi haiawh a ni khyn khqi awh, cangnaak hulnaak hly kawi ingkaw awi nak kqawnnaak hly kawi awh koeh ngaih sa uh,
'And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye may reply, or what ye may say,
12 Cawh nak kqawn hly kawi ce Ciim Myihla ing ni cawngpyi khqi bit kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that hour what it behoveth [you] to say.'
13 Thlang kqeng ak khui awhkaw thlang pynoet oet ing, “Cawngpyikung, ka naa ing qo aning paa pyi aham kqawn pe lah,” tina hy.
And a certain one said to him, out of the multitude, 'Teacher, say to my brother to divide with me the inheritance.'
14 Jesu ing a venawh, “U ing nangnih anglak law awh awidengkung am awhtaw lai ak kqawnkungna ani taak?” tina hy.
And he said to him, 'Man, who set me a judge or a divider over you?'
15 Thlangkhqi venawh, “Ngaih ta lah uh! Ak kamvaanaak awh ce naming ngaih ta uh; thlanghqing a hqingnaak ve qo khawzah taaknaak awhkawng sai na am awm hy,” tina hy.
And he said unto them, 'Observe, and beware of the covetousness, because not in the abundance of one's goods is his life.'
16 Cekcoengawh vawhkaw nyhtahnaak awi ve kqawn pehy: “Thlang boei pynoet a lo taw cang daw soeih hy.
And he spake a simile unto them, saying, 'Of a certain rich man the field brought forth well;
17 Cedawngawh vemyihna ak kaw poek hy, ‘ikaw ka sai lah voei? Cang ka taaknaak aham khai am khoek voel hy,’ tihy.
and he was reasoning within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where I shall gather together my fruits?
18 Cekcoengawh vemyihna tihy, ‘Vemyihna sai vang nyng. Khaikhqi ve hqe nyng saw ak bau khqoet na sa vang nyng, cawh ce cang ingkaw ka themkhqi boeih ta vang nyng.
and he said, This I will do, I will take down my storehouses, and greater ones I will build, and I will gather together there all my products and my good things,
19 Cekcoengawh kamah ingkaw kamah ce, ‘kum khawqyt awh na hawnaak aham khawh khawzah ta hawh hyk ti. Ai nawhtaw, aw nawh ngaihding hlah,’ ti vang nyng,” tihy.
and I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast many good things laid up for many years, be resting, eat, drink, be merry.
20 Cehlai Khawsa ing a venawh, ‘Nang thlakqaw pa, tawh than qoe awh na hqinglu ce ni lawh pe kaw; tuhawhkaw na khawhthemkhqi boeih ve u ing nu a pang kaw?’ tina hy.
'And God said to him, Unthinking one! this night thy soul they shall require from thee, and what things thou didst prepare — to whom shall they be?
21 U awm amah ham doeng khawh cun nawh Khawsa benawh ak khawdeng taw, vemyihna awm uhy,” tinak khqi hy.
so [is] he who is treasuring up to himself, and is not rich toward God.'
22 Cekcoengawh Jesu ing a hubatkhqi venawh: “Cedawngawh ka nik kqawn peek khqi, 'Ikaw ka ai kaw?' 'Ikaw ka bai ka naak kaw?' tinawh nami hqingnaak awh koeh ngaisa uh.
And he said unto his disciples, 'Because of this, to you I say, Be not anxious for your life, what ye may eat; nor for the body, what ye may put on;
23 Awk ai anglakawh hqingnaak ce awipyi bet hy, suibai anglakawh pum ve awipyi bet hy.
the life is more than the nourishment, and the body than the clothing.
24 Vangaakkhqi ce poek lah uh: quk am saw uhy, cang awm am aat uhy, khai awm am ta unawh tep awm am ta hlai uhy; cehlai Khawsa ing a mingmih ce cah khqi hy. Nangmih taw pha khqing lakawh nami phu tlo khqoet saw kaw!
'Consider the ravens, that they sow not, nor reap, to which there is no barn nor storehouse, and God doth nourish them; how much better are ye than the fowls?
25 U ing nu a ngaisaknaak ak caming a hqingnaak khawnoek pynoet kangna awm a cawng thai?
and who of you, being anxious, is able to add to his age one cubit?
26 Vemih ik-oeih ak zawica zani am nami sai thai awh, ikaw ham ak changkhqi awh ce naming ngaisak?
If, then, ye are not able for the least — why for the rest are ye anxious?
27 Lili khqai ve ikawmyihna a taainaak tice poek lah uh. Bi am bi unawh hla awm am bi uhy. Cehlai ka nik kqawn peek khqi, Solomon ing zani a boeimangnaak boeih ing ang thoei cam qu awh vawhkaw lili khqai pynoet ca kangna awm am pha hy.
'Consider the lilies, how do they grow? they labour not, nor do they spin, and I say to you, not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these;
28 Khawsa ing lo awhkaw lili khqai, tuhngawi awh awm hlai hy a khawngawi awh mai awh phum a aham ak awm zani cemyih dyna a thawi a cam awhtaw, Aw cangnaak ak zawikhqi, nangmih ak khqoet taw ikawmyih dyna nu ani thawi ani cam khqi kaw!
and if the herbage in the field, that to-day is, and to-morrow into an oven is cast, God doth so clothe, how much more you — ye of little faith?
29 Awk ai awh namik kawlung koeh ta law uh; ve a dawngawh koeh ngaisa uh.
'And ye — seek not what ye may eat, or what ye may drink, and be not in suspense,
30 Ikawtih Khawsa amak sim lukihkhqi ing ni vemyih ik-oeih amik poek hy, vemyihkhqi ngoe uhyk ti tice nami Pa ing sim hy.
for all these things do the nations of the world seek after, and your Father hath known that ye have need of these things;
31 A qam ce sui cang uh, vemyihkhqi boeih awm ni sap law sih khqi bit kaw.
but, seek ye the reign of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
32 Tuu a khoehca khqi aw, koeh kqih uh, kawtih nami Pa ing nangmih a venawh qam peek aham ngaih hy.
'Fear not, little flock, because your Father did delight to give you the reign;
33 Nami khawhthemkhqi ce zawi unawh taw hahqahkhqi venawh pe lah uh. Quk-ai ama ceh thainaak ingkaw laihqa ing ama hqawk thainaak, amak boeih thai khawh a awmnaak khawk khan awh, khawh ce nami mah aham cun lah uh.
sell your goods, and give alms, make to yourselves bags that become not old, a treasure unfailing in the heavens, where thief doth not come near, nor moth destroy;
34 Ikawtih nami khawh a awmnaak awh, namik kawlung awm awm lawt kaw.
for where your treasure is, there also your heart will be.
35 A coekqoek na thoeih ang cam qu unawh taw nami mai-imkhqi ce a oepchoeh cana dawi uh,
'Let your loins be girded, and the lamps burning,
36 zu lawh poei nakawng ak voei law hly Bawipa ce a na qeh unawh chawh ak khoek law awh a mim awng peek aham ami qeh amyihna qeh lah uh.
and ye like to men waiting for their lord, when he shall return out of the wedding feasts, that he having come and knocked, immediately they may open to him.
37 Ami Bawipa a law awh ih kaa na amik qeh tyihzawihkhqi ham nep kaw. Awitak ka nik kqawn peek khqi, anih ing thoeii ang cam qu kawmsaw, cekkhqi ce caboei awh buh a veel sak khqi coengawh, a mingmih ce qeh kaw.
'Happy those servants, whom the lord, having come, shall find watching; verily I say to you, that he will gird himself, and will cause them to recline (at meat), and having come near, will minister to them;
38 Khawmthan khawnoek pakkhih awh nu pakthum awh nu, a Bawipa a law awh oepchoeh na ak awm tyihzawihkhqi aham nep kaw.
and if he may come in the second watch, and in the third watch he may come, and may find [it] so, happy are those servants.
39 Cehlai ve ve sim uh: imkung ing ityk awh nu quk-ai a law kaw, tice a sim mantaw, ityk awh awm quk-ai ce a ipkhui na am luh sak kaw.
'And this know, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief doth come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through;
40 Cemyih lawtna nangmih awm a ngaihtaak ing awm uh, am namik poeknaak a tym awh thlanghqing Capa ce law kaw,” tinak khqi hy.
and ye, then, become ye ready, because at the hour ye think not, the Son of Man doth come.'
41 Piter ing, “Bawipa, vawhkaw nyhtahnaak awi ve kaimih aham nu nak kqawn, thlakchang aham nu nak kqawn peek?” tina hy.
And Peter said to him, 'Sir, unto us this simile dost thou speak, or also unto all?'
42 Bawipa ing, “Khawh ak khoemkung ypawm, ak cyi, a boei ing a tym a khoeh awh buh an ak qekna imkhui awh ukkungna ak tyh hly ce a u nu?
And the Lord said, 'Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the lord shall set over his household, to give in season the wheat measure?

Happy that servant, whom his lord, having come, shall find doing so;

truly I say to you, that over all his goods he will set him.
45 Cehlai cawhkaw thlang ing, ‘ka Bawipa ve am law tang,’ tinawh tyihzawih Pa ingkaw nukhqi ce a vyk ak pai coengawh zuk qui ing awm mai lah seh.
'And if that servant may say in his heart, My lord doth delay to come, and may begin to beat the men-servants and the maid-servants, to eat also, and to drink, and to be drunken;
46 Amak poek a khawnghi ingkaw ama sim a khawnghi awh a Bawipa ce pha law plak kaw. Anih ce ak tlyh poet poet coengawh, amak cangnaak thlangkhqi ang dyih hun ce anih ing pang lawt kaw.
the lord of that servant will come in a day in which he doth not look for [him], and in an hour that he doth not know, and will cut him off, and his portion with the unfaithful he will appoint.
47 A Bawipa ak kawngaih ce sim hlai hy a hylthyl na amak awm, am awhtaw a Bawipa ing sai sak aham a ngaih ce amak sai tyihzawih cetaw vyk plak cal kaw.
'And that servant, who having known his lord's will, and not having prepared, nor having gone according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes,
48 Cehlai ama sim dawngawh ik-oeih amak sai ingkaw coet kawi na ik-oeih ak sai cetaw a vyk boe bet kaw. Khawzah a peek thlang a venawh, khawzah ngoe kawmsaw khawzah a khoem sak thlang a venawh khawzah thoeh lawt kaw.
and he who, not having known, and having done things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few; and to every one to whom much was given, much shall be required from him; and to whom they did commit much, more abundantly they will ask of him.
49 Khawmdek awh ve mai ni ka haw law hy, tuh awm ui hlah mai thaw voei!
'Fire I came to cast to the earth, and what will I if already it was kindled?
50 Cehlai baptisma ka huh hly kawi ce awm hyn hy, ce a soep hlan dy taw khuikha mah nyng!
but I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how am I pressed till it may be completed!
51 Khawmdek awh qoepnaak awm sak aham law hy, tinawh namik poek nawh nu? Amni, ka nik kqawn peek khqi, pek ang bonaak ni ka haw law hy.
'Think ye that peace I came to give in the earth? no, I say to you, but rather division;
52 Tuh kawng kai a dawngawh, ipkhuikaw pynoet awh hlang pumha a awm mai mantaw, pek qu kawn usaw pakthum ingkaw pakkhih ce qaal qu kawm uh, pakkhih ingkaw pakthum ce awm qaal qu kawm uh.
for there shall be henceforth five in one house divided — three against two, and two against three;
53 Pa ingkaw Capa, Capa ingkaw a pa pek qu kawm uh, a nu ingkaw a canu, a canu ingkaw a nu pek qu kawm uh, a cii ingkaw a langa, a langa ingkaw a cii pek qu kawm uh,” tinak khqi hy.
a father shall be divided against a son, and a son against a father, a mother against a daughter, and a daughter against a mother, a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.'
54 Cekcoeng thlang kqeng a venawh, “Khaw tlaaknaak benna myi ang zam law awhtaw, ‘khaw aa kaw,’ ti uhyk ti, khaw awm aa tangak hy.
And he said also to the multitudes, 'When ye may see the cloud rising from the west, immediately ye say, A shower doth come, and it is so;
55 Thlung benna kaw zilh a law awhtaw, ‘khaw ling kaw,’ ti uhyk ti, khaw ling tangak hy.
and when — a south wind blowing, ye say, that there will be heat, and it is;
56 Thlak thaikhqi! Khaw ingkaw khawmdek taw hat thai zawk hlai uhyk ti ce. Ikawmyihna tuh awhkaw a tym vetaw am nami hat thai?
hypocrites! the face of the earth and of the heaven ye have known to make proof of, but this time — how do ye not make proof of [it]?
57 “Ikawtih ik-oeih ak thym ce am nami hqimhqa thai?
'And why, also, of yourselves, judge ye not what is righteous?
58 Na qaal mi awidengnaak hyn na lam awh nani ceh hui awh, qoepnaak ce sai uh, cemyih am awhtaw na qaal ing awidengkung a venna ni sawi kaw, cekcoengawh awidengkung ing boei a venna ni khyn kaw, boei ing nang ce thawngim khui na nik thla kaw.
for, as thou art going away with thy opponent to the ruler, in the way give diligence to be released from him, lest he may drag thee unto the judge, and the judge may deliver thee to the officer, and the officer may cast thee into prison;
59 Ka nik kqawn peek khqi, laiba na ki hlan dy taw am loet kawp ti,” tina hy.
I say to thee, thou mayest not come forth thence till even the last mite thou mayest give back.'
