1 Kai taw misur kung tang tang na awm nyng saw, ka Pa taw dum ak takung na awm hy.
I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Kai awh ak thaih amak qah a baaikhqi boeih ce hlek hy, kai awh ak thaih ak qahkhqi boeih cetaw, a qahnaak khqoet aham, a baai ak changkhqi ce hlyn pehy.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every [branch] that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit.
3 Nami venawh kak kqawn awi ak caming nangmih taw ciim hawh uhyk ti.
Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Kai awh awm poe lah uh, nangmih awh awm poe lawt kawng nyng. A baai ce a kungawh ama awm awhtaw amah awh amang qah thai amyihna, nangmih awm kai awh amna mi awm awhtaw am qah thai kawm uk ti.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 Kai taw misur kung na awm nyng; nangmih taw a baaikhqi na awm uhyk ti. U awm kai awh awm poe nawh anih awh kai awm ka awm awhtaw, ak thaih khawzah qah kaw; kai am kaa taw na mimah poek awh ikawm am sai thai kawm uk ti.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing.
6 Uawm kaiawh ama awm awhtaw, anih cetaw a baai amyihna khawngna awm kawmsaw, koh kawmsaw, maiawh phum kawm usaw mai ing ui kaw.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 Kaiawh awm unawh kak awikhqi ve nangmih awh a awm awhtaw, nami ngaihkhqi boeih ce thoeh lah uh, nami ham sei peekna awm kaw.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Ak thaih khawzah qah unawh ka hubatna nami awmnaak ak caming Pa ce zoeksangnaakna awm hy.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and [so] shall ye be my disciples.
9 Pa ing kai ani lungnaak amyihna, nangmih ce ni lungnak khqi lawt nyng. Kai a lungnaak awh awm poe lah uh.
Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love.
10 Kak awipeekkhqi ve naming ngai awhtaw, kai ing Pa ak awipeekkhqi ngai nyng saw a lungnaak awh ka awm poe lawt amyihna, kai a lungnaak awh awm poe lawt kawm uk ti.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
11 Nangmih awh ka zeelnaak ce awm nawh nangmih a zeelnaak ce a soepnaak aham, ve ve ka nik kqawn peek khqi.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy may be in you, and [that] your joy may be fulfilled.
12 Kai ak awipeek taw ve ni: kai ing ka ni lungnaak khqi amyihna nangmih pynoet ingkaw pynoet lungqu na lah uh.
This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.
13 Thlang ing a pyikhqi hamna a hqingnaak dy a peek lungnaak anglakawh ak bau lungnaak am awm voel hy.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Kak awipeek ve nami sai awhtaw, nangmih taw kai a pyikhqi na awm uhyk ti.
Ye are my friends, if ye do the things which I command you.
15 Tyihzoeihkhqi amni tinak khqi voel qoe kawng, tyihzawih ingtaw a boeipa a bibi ce am sim hy. Cedawngawh kai ing ka pyikhqi ni tinak khqi hawh nyng, kawtih ka Pa a venawh dang law sak hawh nyng.
No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Nangmih ing kai amnik tyk uhyk ti, kai ing ni nangmih ka nik tyk khqi, cet u tiksaw – a poepana ak cak ak thaih nami qahnaak ahamni caksak khqi nyng. Cawh nangmih ing kai ang ming ing nami thoeh saqui ce Pa ing ni pek khqi bit kaw.
Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 Ve ve kai ak awipek ni: pynoet ingkaw pynoet lung qu na lah uh.
These things I command you, that ye may love one another.
18 Khawmdek ing nangmih ce ani sawhnaak khqi awhtaw, kai ni lammana ani sawhnaak tice na mik kawk khuiawh sim uh.
If the world hateth you, ye know that it hath hated me before [it hated] you.
19 Khawmdek a koe na nami awm mantaw, a koe na nami awm a dawngawh, ni lungnak khqi kaw. Cehlai khawmdek a koe na am awm uhyk ti, khawmdek awhkawng ka nik tyh khqi na awm utik saw khawmdek ing nangmih ce ni sawhnaak khqi hy.
If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Nangmih a venawh kak kqawn law awi ce sim uh; ‘A boei anglakawh tyihzawih am bau hy,’ a ti ce. Cekkhqi ing kai a mini thenaak awhtaw, nangmih awm ni thekhanak khqi kaw. Kai a cawngpyinaak ami hquut awhtaw, nangmih a cawngpyi naak awm hquut lawt kawm uh.
Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also.
21 Kai ang ming awh cemyihna nangmih ce ni thekha nak khqi kaw, kawtih a mingmih ing kai anik tyikung ce am sim uhy.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 Cekkhqi venna am cet nyng saw ve ak awi ve am kak kqawn peek mai mantaw, am thawlh hlai voei uh. Cehlai, tuh taw a thawlhnaak awh loet na am awm voel hy.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.
23 Kai anik sawhnaak thlang taw, ka Pa awm ak sawhnaak thlang na awm hy.
He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 U ingawm ama sai khawi ce kai ingawm am ka sai mai mantaw, am thawlh hlai voei uh. Cehlai kawpoek kyi ik-oeih ak saikhqi ce ami huh awh awm, kai ingkaw ka Pa ve ni sawh na uhy.
If I had not done among them the works which none other did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 Cehlai ningnih a anaa awi awh a qee amyihna, ‘Ikaw kawng am mai awh kai ni sawh na uhy,’ tice a soepnaak ham ni.
But [this cometh to pass], that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 Pa a venawh kawng nangmih a venawh ka tyih hly kawi, ngaihqep sakkung, Pa a venawh kawng ak cawn law awitak Myihla ce a law awh, anih ing kai akawng ce ni sim sak khqi kaw.
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:
27 Nangmih awm ak cyk ca awhkawng kai a venawh nami awm poe a dawngawh, kai akawng ce thlang sim sak lawt kawm uk ti.
and ye also bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
