< 1 Johan 3 >

1 Khawsa cakhqi ni simnaak aham Khawsa ing ningnih ani lungnaak khqi ve ikaw mih aih na a bau naak! Cemyih na ce ningnih ni awm uhy! Khawmdek ing ningnih a mami sim thainaak khqi vetaw amah ce ama sim a dawngawh ni.
See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is.
3 U awm amah awh ve ngaih-unaak ak takhqi taw amah a ciim amyihna, amah ing amah ciimcaihna ak awm thlangkhqi na awm uhy.
Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4 U awm thawlhnaak ak sai ak thlang taw aanaa awi ak hqe na awm hy; thawlhnaak taw aanaa awi kaana khaw saknaak veni.
Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
5 Cehlai ningnih a thawlhnaak ceh pyi aham anih taw dang law hy, tice sim uhyk ti. Anih awhtaw thawlhnaak am awm hy.
You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him.
6 U awm anih awh amak hqing taw thawlhnaak ce sai poe hy. Thawlhnaak ak sai poe ingtaw anih ce am hu nawh sim awm am sim hy.
Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him and doesn’t know him.
7 Ka lungnaak naasenkhqi, u ingawm nangmih ce lam koeh ni pleng pyi khqi seh. Ik-oeih ak thym ak sai ak thlang taw thlak dyng ni, anih awm a dyng a dawngawh.
Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 U awm thawlhnaak ak sai taw setan thlang ni, setan cetaw ak cykca awhkawng thawlhnaak ce ana sai hawh hy, Khawsa Capa ang dang lawnaak taw setan a bibi hqe aham na ni.
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 U awm Khawsa a cahlah ingtaw thawlhnaak ce am sai poe ti kaw, Khawsa am cii ce anih awh awm poe hawh hy; am thawlh poe kaw, Khawsa a cahlah na a awm a dawngawh.
Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.
10 Khawsa cakhqi ingkaw setan a cakhqi simnaak taw veni; a koeinaa amak lungnaak awm Khawsa ca amni.
In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother.
11 Ak cyk ca awhkawng naming zaak awi taw; pynoet ingkaw pynoet naming lung qunaak aham awm hy, tive.
For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another—
12 Kain amyihna koeh awm uh, anih cetaw thlak che na awm nawh a koeinaa ce him hy. Ikaw tih a naa ce a him? Amah a ik-oeih sai ce am leek nawh, a napa a ik-oeih sai ce a dyng a dawngawh him hy.
unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13 Khawmdek ing nangmih ani sawhnaak awhtaw, koeinaakhqi, na mik kawpoek koeh kyi sak uh.
Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
U awm lungnaak amak ta ak thlang taw thihnaak khuiawh ni a awm.
We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.
15 U awm a koeinaa ak sawhnaak ak thlang taw thlang ak him ni, u awm thlang ak him taw kumqui hqingnaak am ta hy ti sim uhyk ti. (aiōnios g166)
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
16 Lungnaak simnaak taw veni: Jesu Khrih ing ningnih aham a hqingnaak pehy. Ce a dawngawh ningnih ingawm koeinaakhqi aham ni hqingnaak ni peek lawt aham awm hy.
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
17 Thlang ing khawmdek them ta hlai hy koeinaa a voethlauhnaak a huh awh qeennaak ama taak awhtaw, ikawp na anih ak khuiawh lungnaak ce a awm naak thai kaw?
But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
And by this we know that we are of the truth and persuade our hearts before him,
20 Ningmih ak kawlung ing ani palh sak khqi awh ni sim kawm uh. Ikawtih, Khawsa taw ningnih ak kawlung anglakawh bau khqoet nawh anih ing soepkep boeih ce sim hy.
because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness towards God;
22 a venawh ik-oeih ni thoeh saqui ce ni pek khqi hy, amah ak awipeek ce ning ngai nawh ak kaw zeelnaak ce ni sai peek a dawngawh.
so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 Ak awipeek taw veni: a Capa, Jesu Khrih ming cangna nawh, ak awipeek amyihna pynoet ingkaw pynoet ning lung qunaak veni.
This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
24 U awm ak awipeek ak ngai ak thlang taw amah awh awm nawh, cekkhqi ak khuiawh amah ce awm hy. Ningmih ak khuiawh anih awm hy ti simnaak taw veni; Amah ing a ni peek Ciim Myihla ak caming ni sim uhy, ti veni.
He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
