< Olcueih 8 >

1 Cueihnah loh n'khue moenih a? Lungcuei loh a ol a huel dae ta.
Thou shalt proclaim wisdom, that understanding may be obedient to thee.
2 Longpuei taengkah hmuensang som ah a im kah a hawn ah khaw pai ta.
For she is on lofty eminences, and stands in the midst of the ways.
3 Vangpuei la a kun phai kah vongka hmoi ah khaw thohka kah a rhai ah khaw tamhoe ta.
For she sits by the gates of princes, and sings in the entrances, [saying],
4 Aw hlang rhoek, nangmih te kang khue tih ka olthang he khaw hlang capa ham ni.
You, O men, I exhort; and utter my voice to the sons of men.
5 Hlangyoe rhoek loh khinglangnah yakming lamtah aka ang rhoek loh lungbuei te yakming lah.
O ye simple, understand subtlety, and ye that are untaught, imbibe knowledge.
6 Hnatun uh, rhaengsang la ka thui dongah ka hmuilai ka ongnah he vanat la om.
Hearken to me; for I will speak solemn [truths]; and will produce right [sayings] from my lips.
7 Ka ka loh oltak a thuep tih halangnah te ka hmuilai kah a tueilaehkoi ni.
For my throat shall meditate truth; and false lips are an abomination before me.
8 Ka ka dongkah duengnah olthui boeih he a hloo vilvak moenih.
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing in them wrong or perverse.
9 Aka yakming ham tah boeih langya tih mingnah aka dang ham tah thuem ngawn.
They are all evident to those that understand, and right to those that find knowledge.
10 Ka thuituennah tangka nen pawt tih, mingnah he sui a coelh lakah khaw lo lah.
Receive instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than tried gold.
11 Cueihnah tah lungvang lakah then tih ngaihnah sarhui khaw te nen te vanat sak thai pawh.
For wisdom is better than precious stones; and no valuable substance is of equal worth with it.
12 Kamah tah cueihnah, khinglangnah neh kho ka sak tih thuepnah dongkah mingnah te ka hmuh.
I wisdom have dwelt [with] counsel and knowledge, and I have called upon understanding.
13 BOEIPA hinyahnah dongah a thae la koevoeinah te thiinah ham ni hoemdamnah neh a thae longpuei khaw, calaak ol khaw ka hmuhuet.
The fear of the Lord hates unrighteousness, and insolence, and pride, and the ways of wicked men; and I hate the perverse ways of bad men.
14 Cilsuep neh lungming cueihnah tah kamah taengah, ka yakmingnah neh, kamah ham thayung thamal la om.
Counsel and safety are mine; prudence is mine, and strength is mine.
15 Kai rhangneh manghai rhoek loh manghai tih boeica rhoek loh duengnah neh a taem uh.
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 Kai rhangneh mangpa rhoek khaw boei uh tih hlangcong boeih loh duengnah lai a tloek uh.
By me nobles become great, and monarchs by me rule over the earth.
17 Kai aka lung, aka lungnah te ka lungnah tih kai aka toem rhoek loh kai m'hmuh uh.
I love those that love me; and they that seek me shall find [me].
18 Khuehtawn neh thangpomnah khaw, aka nguel boeirhaeng neh duengnah khaw kamah taengah om.
Wealth and glory belong to me; yea, abundant possessions and righteousness.
19 Sui neh suicilh lakah ka thaih then tih ka cangvuei khaw cak lakah cae.
[It is] better to have my fruit than [to have] gold and precious stones; and my produce is better than choice silver.
20 Duengnah caehlong ah tiktamnah a hawn khui la ka pongpa.
I walk in ways of righteousness, and [am] conversant with the paths of judgment;
21 Kai aka lungnah tah ka koe ka pang sak tih a thakvoh te ka koei pah.
that I may divide substance to them that love me, and may fill their treasures with good things. If I declare to you the things that daily happen, I will remember [also] to recount the things of old.
22 Daengrhae daengkhoi lamkah a bibi, hlamat kah a longpuei a tongcuek ah BOEIPA loh kai n'lai coeng.
The Lord made me the beginning of his ways for his works.
23 Khosuen lamloh, a lu lamloh, diklai khothoeng lamloh kai n'hloe.
He established me before time [was] in the beginning, before he made the earth:
24 Kai ka poe vaengah tuidung khaw ana om pawh, tuisih tui ana phul pawh.
even before he made the depths; before the fountains of water came forth:
25 Tlang a buek hlan ah som a tueng hlan ah ka cuen coeng.
before the mountains were settled, and before all hills, he begets me.
26 Te vaengah diklai khaw, tollong khaw, lunglai dongkah laipi lamhma khaw ana saii moenih.
The Lord made countries and uninhabited [tracks], and the highest inhabited parts of the world.
27 Vaan a soepsoei ham vaengkah, tuidung hman kah a kueluek te a tarhit ham vaengkah khaw kamah ni.
When he prepared the heaven, I was present with him; and when he prepared his throne upon the winds:
28 A sang hmuen kah khomong thah sak ham khaw, tuidung tuiphuet tanglue sak ham vaengah khaw,
and when he strengthened the clouds above; and when he secured the fountains of the earth:
29 Tuitunli te a rhi suem pah ham vaengah khaw ka om coeng. Te dongah tui loh BOEIPA ol te poe pawh. Diklai kah a yung te a tarhit ham vaengah ka om coeng.
decree. and when he strengthened the foundations of the earth:
30 Amah taengah bibi thai la ka om tih hnin bal hnin bal hlahmaenah neh ka om. A tue boeih dongah amah mikhmuh ah ka luem.
I was by him, suiting [myself to him], I was that wherein he took delight; and daily I rejoiced in his presence continually.
31 A khohmuen kah lunglai dongah aka luem loh hlang ca te khaw ka hlahmaenah coeng.
For he rejoiced when he had completed the world, and rejoiced among the children of men.
32 Te dongah ca rhoek loh kamah taengah hnatun uh lamtah kamah kah yoethen longpuei ngaithuen uh.
Now then, [my] son, hear me: blessed is the man who shall hearken to me, and the mortal who shall keep my ways;
33 Thuituennah he hnatun lamtah cueih lamtah hlahpham boeh.
[Hear wisdom and be wise, and ] [be not strangers to it. ]
34 Kamah taengah aka hnatun Ka thohkhaih taengah a hnin a hnin ah aka hak, ka thohka kah rhungsut aka ngaithuen hlang tah a yoethen pai.
watching daily at my doors, waiting at the posts of my entrances.
35 Kai aka hmu long tah hingnah te a hmuh rhoe a hmuh tih, BOEIPA taengkah kolonah a dang.
For my outgoings are the outgoings of life, and [in them] is prepared favour from the Lord.
36 Tedae kai aka hmaang long tah a hinglu a huet, kai aka thiinah boeih loh dueknah te a lungnah.
But they that sin against me act wickedly against their own souls: and they that hate me love death.
