< Luka 17 >

1 Jesu mah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, Kaminawk zaehaih sahsak hmuen to om tih: toe zaehaih omsak kami loe khosak bing!
He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!
2 Hae ih nawktanawk thungah nawkta maeto zaehaih sahsak kami loe, tahnong ah cangkaehhaih thlung to a oihsak moe, tuipui thungah vah nahaeloe anih han hoi kue tih.
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.
3 Nangcae loe acoe oh: nam nawkamya mah na nuiah sethaih sah nahaeloe, anih to thuitaek ah; dawnpakhuem nahaeloe, anih to tahmen ah.
Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he makes teshuvah ·complete repentance·, forgive him.
4 Anih mah nito naah na nuiah vai sarihto zaehaih sak, toe nito naah vai sarihto nangcae khaeah angzoh moe, Ka dawnpakhuem boeh, tiah thui nahaeloe, anih to tahmen ah, tiah a naa.
If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I make teshuvah ·complete repentance·,’ you shall forgive him.”
5 Patoeh ih kaminawk mah Angraeng khaeah, Kaicae tanghaih qoengsak ah, tiah a naa o.
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our trusting faith.”
6 Angraeng mah nihcae khaeah, Antam mu tetto mah tanghaih na tawnh o nahaeloe, hae thaiduet kung khaeah, Tangzuun hoi nawnto angphongh duk ah loe, tuipui ah angthling ah, tiah na naa o nahaeloe, na thuih o ih lok to tahngai tih.
The Lord said, “If you had trusting faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
7 Nangcae thung ih kami maeto loe long atok tamna maw, to tih ai boeh loe maitaw toep tamna maeto a tawnh, tamna maeto lawk hoi amlaem naah, Caeh ah, anghnu ah loe, buh to caa ah, tiah na naa roep tih maw?
But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table,’
8 Tamna khaeah, Ka caak hanah buh na thoe paeh, kaengkaeh to angzaeng ah loe, ka caa boih ai karoek to na toep ah; to pacoengah na caa ueloe, na nae tih hmang, tiah na naa mak ai maw?
and will not rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’?
9 Na thuih ih sak han koi hmuen to a sak pongah, anih mah tamna khaeah kawnhaih lok thui tih maw? Thui tih, tiah ka poek ai.
Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not.
10 To baktih toengah nangcae mah, sak han ang thuih o ih lok baktih toengah hmuen na sak o boih pacoengah, Kaicae loe amekhaih pakrong tamna na ai ni: ka sak o han koi tok to ka sak o boih boeh, tiah thui oh, tiah a naa.
Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”
11 Anih loe Samaria hoi Kalili prae thung hoiah Jerusalem ah caeh.
As he was on his way to Jerusalem [City of peace], he was passing along the borders of Samaria [Watch-mountain] and Galilee [District, Circuit].
12 Anih avang maeto thungah akun naah, ngansae man kami hato anih khae angzoh hanah, kangthla ah angdoet o:
As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were afflicted with tzara'at ·leprosy· met him, who stood at a distance.
13 nihcae mah, Jesu, Angraeng, kaicae nuiah palungnathaih tawn raeh, tiah tha hoi a hangh o.
They lifted up their voices, saying, “Yeshua [Salvation], Master, have mercy on us!”
14 Nihcae to a hnuk naah, nihcae khaeah, Caeh oh loe qaima khaeah na takpum to patuek oh, tiah a naa. Nihcae caeh o naah, ngansae to ciim boih.
When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As they went, they were cleansed.
15 Nihcae thung ih maeto mah ngansae ciim boeh, tiah a hnuk naah, amlaem let moe, tha hoi Sithaw to pakoeh,
One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.
16 Jesu khokkung ah tabok moe, kawnhaih lok a thuih: anih loe Samaritan kami ah oh.
He fell on his face at Yeshua [Salvation]'s feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan [person from Watch-mountain].
17 Jesu mah kami hato ngantui o boih na ai maw? Takawtto kaminawk loe naa ah maw oh o?
Yeshua [Salvation] answered, “Were not the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
18 Hae acaeng kalah kami khue ai ah loe, Sithaw pakoeh han amlaem let kami om o ai maw? tiah a naa.
Were there none found who teshuvah ·completely returned· to give glory to God, except this stranger?”
19 Anih mah to kami khaeah, Angthawk ah loe, caeh laih: na tanghaih mah ang hoisak boeh, tiah a naa.
Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way. Your trusting faith has healed you.”
20 Farasi kaminawk angzoh o moe, anih khaeah Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae loe natuek naah maw angzo tih, tiah a dueng o; anih mah nihcae khaeah, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae loe nangcae mikhnuk ah angzo mak ai:
Being asked by the Pharisees [Separated] when God’s Kingdom would come, he answered them, “God’s Kingdom does not come with observation;
21 khenah, Haeah khen oh, to tih ai boeh loe hoah khen oh, tiah mi mah doeh thui thai mak ai, tahngai oh, Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae loe nangcae palung thungah ni oh, tiah a naa.
neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”
22 Anih mah a hnukbang kaminawk khaeah, Kami Capa ih ni hnuk koehhaih ani to pha tih, toe na hnu o mak ai.
He said to the disciples, “The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
23 Kaminawk mah nangcae khaeah, Haeah khen oh, to tih ai boeh loe hoah khen oh, tiah na naa o tih; to naah nihcae hnukah caeh o hmah, nihcae hnukah doeh bang o hmah.
They will tell you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Don’t go away, nor follow after them,
24 Aanghaih mah, van maeto bang hoi van maeto bang khoek to toeh phaeng baktih toengah, Kami capa doeh Angmah ih niah loe to tiah om tih.
for as the lightning, when it flashes out of the one part under the sky, shines to the other part under the sky; so will the Son of Man be in his day.
25 Toe anih loe paroeai patangkhang hmaloe tih, hae dung ih kaminawk mah anih to pahnawt o tih.
But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 Noah dung ah kaom hmuen baktih toengah, Kami Capa ih niah doeh om tih.
As it was in the days of Noah [Rest], even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.
27 Noah palong thungah akun karoek to, kaminawk loe naek caak o, zu lak o moe, imthong krak o, to naah tui kalen phak thuih moe, kaminawk to uem king.
They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah [Rest] entered into the ship, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Lot dung naah doeh to tiah oh; kaminawk loe caak o, naek o, hmuenmae qan o moe, a zawh o, patit o moe, im doeh a sak o;
Likewise, even as it was in the days of Lot [Veil, Covering]: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
29 toe Lot mah Sodom vangpui tacawt taak ni roe ah van bang hoiah kaat hmai hoi kangbaeh kho to angzoh moe, kaminawk to amrosak boih.
but in the day that Lot [Veil, Covering] went out from Sodom [Burning], Yahweh caused it to rain fire and sulfur from the sky, and destroyed them all.
30 Kami Capa angphonghaih niah doeh to tiah om tih.
It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
31 To na ni phak naah, imphu ah kaom kami mah angmah ih hmuen lak hanah, imthung ah anghum tathuk hmah nasoe: lawk ah kaom kami doeh hmuen lak hanah im ah amlaem hmah nasoe.
In that day, he who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.
32 Lot ih zu to poek oh.
Remember Lot [Veil, Covering]’s wife!
33 Mi kawbaktih doeh a hinghaih pahlong han pakrong kami loe, a hinghaih to pathlong tih; mi kawbaktih doeh a hinghaih pathlong kami loe, hinghaih to hnu tih.
Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.
34 Kang thuih o, to naduem ah loe iihkhun maeto nuiah kami hnetto om hoi tih; maeto loe la ving ueloe, maeto loe caehtaak sut tih.
I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. The one will be taken, and the other will be left.
35 Nongpata hnik loe nawnto cang daeng hoi tih; maeto loe la ving ueloe, kalah maeto loe caehtaak sut tih.
There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken, and the other will be left.
36 Lawk ah kami hnetto om hoi tih; maeto loe la ving ueloe, kalah maeto loe caehtaak sut tih, tiah a naa.
Two will be in the field: the one taken, and the other left.”
37 Nihcae mah Anih khaeah, Angraeng, to hmuen loe naa ah maw om tih? tiah a dueng o. To pongah anih mah nihcae khaeah, Kadueh qok ohhaih ahmuen ah tahmu prawnnawk nawnto angpop o tih, tiah a naa.
They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there will the vultures also be gathered together.”
