< Lokcaekkung 20 >

1 To naah Israel kaminawk boih, Gilead prae ih kaminawk doeh Dan hoi Beersheba karoek to, Mizpah avang ah Angraeng hmaa ah maeto ah amkhueng o.
Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was gathered together as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to the LORD in Mizpeh.
2 Israel acaeng hoi kaminawk zaehoikungnawk loe, Sithaw kaminawk amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah angpop o; sumsen hoi misatuh thaih khok hoi misatuh kami sang cumvai palito oh o.
And the chief of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen that drew sword.
3 Israel kaminawk Mizpah vangpui ah caeh o, tiah Benjamin kaminawk mah thaih o. To naah Israel kaminawk mah, Hae tiah kaom kasae hmuen hae kawbangmaw oh na thui oh? tiah a naa o.
(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpeh.) Then said the children of Israel, Tell us, how was this wickedness?
4 Kadueh nongpata ih sava Levi mah, Kai loe aqum iih hanah Benjamin prae Gibeah vangpui ah ka zula hoi nawnto ka caeh.
And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was slain, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
5 Gibeah vangpui ih kaminawk loe aqum ah ka toem ih im ah angzoh o moe, kai hum hanah im to takui o khoep; toe ka zula to duek khoek to zae o haih.
And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead.
6 Nihcae mah Israel prae acaeng thungah hae tiah nongpata nuiah zaehaih a sak o pongah, ka zula to ka lak moe, ka takroek pet pet pacoengah, Israelnawk mah qawk ah toep o ih prae boih ah ka pat.
And I took my concubine, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel: for they have committed lewdness and folly in Israel.
7 Khenah, nangcae loe Israel kami ah na oh o; hae hmuen kawng hae ah thui oh loe, lok takroek oh, tiah a naa.
Behold, ye are all children of Israel; give here your advice and counsel.
8 Israel kaminawk loe poekhaih maeto ah amhong o boih, mi doeh im ah amlaem hmah si, im ah caeh doeh caeh hmah si.
And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.
9 Vaihi taham khethaih phoisa to va si loe, Gibeah vangpui tuk hanah caeh o si.
But now this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up by lot against it;
10 Benjamin kaminawk mah Israel kaminawk nuiah sak o ih kahoih ai hmuen baktih toengah, nihcae nuiah kating ah lu lak moe, Gibeah vangpui ah caeh kaminawk caaknaek paek thai hanah, Israel acaengnawk boih thung ih kami cumvaito thungah hato, sangto thungah cumvaito, sang hato thungah sangto kok si, tiah a thuih o.
And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to fetch provisions for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in Israel.
11 To pongah Israel kaminawk boih, maeto ah amkhueng o moe, vangpui to tuk hanah poekhaih maeto ah amhong o.
So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.
12 Israel kaminawk mah Benjamin acaengnawk khaeah laicaeh patoeh boih, Hae baktih kahoih ai hmuen sakhaih loe nangcae salakah kawbangmaw oh?
And the tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, What wickedness is this that is done among you?
13 To pongah Gibeah vangpui ah kaom kasae kaminawk to ka hum o moe, Israel prae thung hoiah to baktih kasae hmuen sakhaih oh han ai ah, kahoih ai kaminawk to kaicae ban ah na paek oh, tiah a naa o. Toe Benjamin kaminawk mah angmacae nawkamya Israel kaminawk ih lok to tiah doeh sah pae o ai.
Now therefore deliver us the men, the perverted men, who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and remove the evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
14 Toe Israel kaminawk to tuk hanah, avang boih ih Benjamin kaminawk loe Gibeah vangpui ah caeh o moe, to ah amkhueng o.
But the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
15 Benjamin kaminawk loe, Gibeah vangpui thung hoiah qoih ih sumsen hoi misatuh thaih kami cumvai sarihto, alah avangnawk hoiah kok ih kami sang pumphae tarukto oh o.
And the children of Benjamin were numbered at that time out of the cities twenty and six thousand men that drew sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
16 To kaminawk thungah sam maeto mataeng doeh haeh ai ah, ngazai hoi kazai thaih, banqoi ban patoh kop qoih ih kami cumvai sarihto oh o.
Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss.
17 Benjamin kaminawk thui ai ah, sumsen hoi misatuh thaih Israel kaminawk loe sang cumvai palito oh o.
And the men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these were men of war.
18 Israel kaminawk loe angthawk o moe, Sithaw im ah caeh o tahang pacoengah, Benjamin kaminawk tuk hanah mi maw caeh hmaloe tih? tiah angmacae ih Sithaw khaeah a dueng o. Angraeng mah, Judah caeh hmaloe tih, tiah a naa.
And the children of Israel arose, and went up to the house of God, and asked counsel of God, and said, Which of us shall go up first to the battle against the children of Benjamin? And the LORD said, Judah shall go up first.
19 Israel kaminawk loe khawnbang khawnthaw ah angthawk o moe, Gibeah vangpui to takui o.
And the children of Israel rose in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.
20 Israel kaminawk loe Benjamin kaminawk to tuk hanah caeh o, Gibeah vangpui ah nihcae to tuk hanah amsak o.
And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
21 Benjamin kaminawk loe vangpui thung hoiah tacawt o, to na niah Israel kaminawk to long ah sang pumphae hnetto a hum o.
And the children of Benjamin came forth from Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
22 Toe Israel kaminawk loe maeto pacoeng maeto tha angpaek o moe, hmaloe ah ataihaih ahmuen ah atai o let.
And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.
23 Israel kaminawk loe caeh o tahang moe, duembang khoek to Angraeng hmaa ah qah o pacoengah, Angraeng khaeah, Kam nawk, Benjamin tuk hanah ka caeh o tahang let han maw? tiah a dueng o. Angraeng mah, Caeh o tahangh loe, nihcae to tuh oh, tiah a naa.
(And the children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until evening, and asked counsel of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up again to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And the LORD said, Go up against him.)
24 To pongah ni hnetto haih naah loe, Israel kaminawk mah Benjamin kaminawk tuk hanah a taengah anghnai o thuih.
And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
25 Ni hnetto naah Benjamin kaminawk loe Israel kaminawk tuk hanah Gibeah vangpui thung hoiah tacawt o moe, sumsen sin Israel kami sang hatlai tazetto long ah a hum o let bae.
And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
26 To naah Israel kaminawk boih, Angraeng im ah caeh o tahang moe, anghnut o pacoengah, Angraeng hmaa ah qah o. Duembang khoek to buhzah o moe, Angraeng hmaa ah hmai angbawnhaih hoi angdaeh angbawnhaih to a sak o.
Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until evening, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
27 To pacoengah Israel kaminawk mah Angraeng khaeah lokdueng o; to nathuem ah Angraeng lokmaihaih to ah oh.
And the children of Israel enquired of the LORD, (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
28 Aaron capa Phinehas, Phinehas capa Eleazar loe to ah toksahkung ah oh; nihcae mah, Nawkamya, Benjamin tuk hanah ka caeh o han maw, ka caeh o mak ai? tiah dueng o. To naah Angraeng mah, Caeh oh, khawnbangah nihcae to nangcae ban ah kang paek han, tiah a naa.
And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days, ) saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And the LORD said, Go up; for to morrow I will deliver them into thy hand.
29 To naah Israel kaminawk mah Gibeah vangpui to takui o khoep.
And Israel set men in ambush around Gibeah.
30 Ni thumto naah, Israel kaminawk loe Benjamin acaengnawk tuk hanah caeh o tahang let.
And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and put themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
31 Benjamin kaminawk loe kaminawk tuk hanah vangpui hoi tacawt o moe, ahmuen kangthla ah caeh o; a sak o zong ih baktih toengah, Israel kaminawk to tuk o moe, a hum o; Sithaw im caehhaih loklam hoi Gibeah vangpui caehhaih loklam ah Israel kaminawk to quithumto hum o.
And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, and kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
32 Benjamin kaminawk mah hmaloe ah a sak o ih baktih toengah, nihcae to pazawk boeh, tiah a poek o. Toe Israel kaminawk mah, Cawn o si loe, nihcae to vangpui thung hoiah vapui bangah zoek si, tiah thuih o.
And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them from the city to the highways.
33 Israel kaminawk boih ohhaih ahmuen hoiah angthawk o moe, Baal-Tamar vangpui ah atai o let; to naah misatoep Israel kaminawk loe Gibeah vangpui azawn hoiah angzoh o.
And all the men of Israel rose out of their place, and put themselves in array at Baaltamar: and those of Israel who were in ambush came forth out of their places, even out of the meadows of Gibeah.
34 To naah Israel kaminawk thung hoiah qoih ih kami sang hato mah Gibeah vangpui to tuk o; misa angtukhaih loe paroeai rai, toe angmacae nuiah sethaih pha tih boeh, tiah Benjamin kaminawk mah panoek o ai.
And there came against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was fierce: but they knew not that evil was near them.
35 Angraeng mah Israel kaminawk hmaa ah Benjamin to pazawk pae; to na niah Angraeng mah sumsen hoiah misatuh Benjamin kami, sang pumphae pangato pacoeng, cumvaito a hum pae.
And the LORD smote Benjamin before Israel: and the children of Israel destroyed of the Benjamites that day twenty and five thousand and an hundred men: all these drew the sword.
36 To naah Benjamin kaminawk mah ka sung o boeh, tiah panoek o; Gibeah vangpui taeng ih misa angang kaminawk to a oep o pongah, Israel kaminawk loe Benjamin kaminawk hmaa ah hnuk angnawn pae o.
So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten: for the men of Israel gave place to the Benjamites, because they trusted to the ones lying in ambush which they had set beside Gibeah.
37 To naah misa angang kaminawk loe Gibeah vangpui thungah akun o moe, vangpui thung ih kaminawk boih sumsen hoi hum o.
And those in ambush hastened, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the ones lying in ambush drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
38 Israel kaminawk loe vangpui to hmai hoi thlaek hanah, misa angang kaminawk hoiah lok angsuek o.
Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the men in ambush, that they should make a great flame with smoke to ascend up from the city.
39 Israel kaminawk misatukhaih hoi hnukbang angnawn o naah, Benjamin kaminawk mah, canghniah Israel kaminawk ka pazawk o moe, ka hum o baktiah, pazawk let tih, tiah a poek o, to naah nihcae mah Israel kaminawk to quithumto a hum o.
And when the men of Israel retired in the battle, Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons: for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
40 Toe Benjamin kaminawk nihcae khae hoi amlaem o naah, vangpui thung hoiah tacawt tahang hmaikhue to a hnuk o.
But when the flame began to ascend up from the city with a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them, and, behold, the flame of the city ascended up to heaven.
41 Israel kaminawk mah nihcae angqoi thuih naah, Benjamin kaminawk loe tasoeh takuenhaih hoiah oh o; a sak o ih zaehaih atho angmacae nuiah phak boeh, tiah nihcae mah panoek o.
And when the men of Israel turned again, the men of Benjamin were amazed: for they saw that evil had come upon them.
42 To pongah Israel kaminawk hmaa ah praezaek ah cawnh o, toe loih o ai; misatuh kaminawk mah patom o moe, kae o naah, vangpui thung hoi tacawt kaminawk to nihcae mah hum o boih.
Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and those who came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
43 Benjamin kaminawk to patom o moe, zoidaekta ah Gibeah ni angyae bangah kae o, to naah nihcae to takui o khoep.
Thus they inclosed the Benjamites on all sides, and chased them, and trod them down with ease opposite Gibeah toward the sunrising.
44 Thacak misatuh Benjamin kaminawk sang hatlai tazetto duek o.
And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valour.
45 Nihcae loe hnuk angnawn o moe, Rimmon thlung ohhaih ahmuen praezaek ah cawnh o, toe Israel kaminawk mah nihcae to patom o moe, loklam ah kami sang pangato hum o; Benjamin kaminawk to Gidom karoek to patom o moe, kami sang hnetto hum o let.
And they turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men; and pursued hard after them to Gidom, and slew two thousand men of them.
46 To na niah sumsen hoi misatuh Benjamin kami sang pumphae pangato duek o; nihcae boih loe misatuk kop kami ah oh o.
So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.
47 Toe kami cumvai taruktonawk loe amlaem o let moe, Rimmon thlung ohhaih ahmuen praezaek ah cawnh o; to ahmuen ah khrah palito thung a oh o.
But six hundred men turned and fled to the wilderness to the rock Rimmon, and abode in the rock Rimmon four months.
48 Israel kaminawk mah Benjamin kaminawk to pangh o let moe, vangpui thung ih kaminawk hoi pacah ih moinawk boih to sumsen hoiah hum o; a caeh o naah a hnuk o ih vangpuinawk to hmai hoiah qoeng pae o boih.
And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, as well the men of every city, as the beast, and all that came to hand: also they set on fire all the cities that they came to.
