< Jeremiah 34 >

1 Babylon siangpahrang Nebuchadnezzar, angmah ih misatuh kaminawk boih, a ukhaih thungah kaom praenawk boih, prae thung ih kaminawk boih mah, Jerusalem hoi ataeng ih vangpuinawk boih to tuk naah, Angraeng khae ih lok to Jeremiah khaeah angzoh,
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of it, saying:
2 Angraeng, Israel Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; Judah siangpahrang Zedekiah khaeah caeh ah loe, anih khaeah, Khenah, hae vangpui hae Babylon siangpahrang ban ah ka paek han, anih mah hmai hoiah thlaek tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih, tiah thui paeh, tiah ang naa.
"Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Go, and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Look, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
3 Nang loe anih ih ban thung hoiah na loih mak ai, anih mah na naeh ueloe, a ban ah paek tih; Babylon siangpahrang hoi mikhmai kang tongah, lok na thui hoi tih, nang loe Babylon ah na caeh tih.
and you shall not escape out of his hand, but shall surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and your eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with you mouth to mouth, and you shall go to Babylon.'
4 Toe Aw Judah siangpahrang Zedekiah, Angraeng ih lok to tahngai ah; nang loe sumsen hoi na dueh mak ai, tiah na Angraeng mah thuih:
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah: thus says the LORD concerning you, 'You shall not die by the sword;
you shall die in peace; and with the burnings of your fathers, the former kings who were before you, so shall they make a burning for you; and they shall lament you, saying, "Ah Lord." for I have spoken the word,' says the LORD."'"
6 To pacoengah tahmaa Jeremiah mah hae loknawk hae Judah siangpahrang Zedekiah khaeah, Jerusalem ah thuih pae boih,
Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
7 Babylon misatuh kaminawk mah Jerusalem hoi anghmat vangpuinawk, Lakhish, Azekah to tuk naah, Judah vangpuinawk thungah hae vangpui hnik loe anghmat kacak vangpui ah oh hoi.
when the king of Babylon's army was fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish and against Azekah; for these alone remained of the cities of Judah as fortified cities.
8 Zedekiah siangpahrang mah nihcae loihaih lok to thuih hanah, Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk boih khaeah, lokmaihaih sak pacoengah Jeremiah khaeah Angraeng ih lok to angzoh;
The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them;
9 kami boih mah tamna ah kaom Hebru nongpa, nongpata to prawt han oh; mi mah doeh Judah kami to misong ah suek han om ai.
that every man should let his male servant, and every man his female servant, who is a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, go free; that none should keep a fellow Judean in bondage.
10 Kami boih mah tamna nongpa, tamna nongpata to misong ah patoh han om ai, prawt boih han oh boeh, tiah thuih ih lok to ukkung angraengnawk boih, kaminawk boih mah thaih o naah, paroi o moe, misong thung hoiah loih o sak.
And all the officials and all the people obeyed, who had entered into the covenant, that everyone should let his male servant, and everyone his female servant, go free, that none should make bondservants of them any more; they obeyed, and let them go:
11 Toe akra ai ah poek amkhraih o let, prawt tangcae misong nongpa hoi nongpatanawk to naeh o let moe, tamna tok sak o sak let.
but afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
12 To naah Angraeng ih lok Jeremiah khaeah angzoh moe,
Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
13 Angraeng, Israel Sithaw mah hae tiah thuih; Izip prae ah misong ah ohhaih thung hoiah nam panawk to ka hoih naah, nam panawk hoi lokmaihaih to ka sak,
"Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: 'I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage, saying,
14 saning sarihto boeng pacoengah nang khaeah zawh ih nawkamya Hebru misongnawk to prawt o boih ah; saning tarukto thung na tok ang sak pae o boeh pongah, na loih o sak han oh, tiah ka naa; toe nam panawk mah ka lok to tahngai o ai moe, naa doeh patueng o ai.
"At the end of seven years you shall let go every man his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you": but your fathers did not listen to me, neither inclined their ear.
15 Vaihi loe na dawn o pakhuem boeh moe, ka hmaa ah katoeng hmuen to na sak o; kami boih mah a imtaeng kami to loihsak hanah thuih o; ka hmin hoi kawk ih im thungah ka hmaa roe ah lokmaihaih na sak o:
You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
16 toe vaihi nang qoi o let moe, ka hmin to nam hnong o sak; angmacae koeh baktiah na prawt o ih, tamna nongpa hoi nongpatanawk to nam laem o sak let moe, nihcae to tamna ah maw, misong ah maw na oh o sak let.
but you turned and profaned my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return; and you brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.
17 To pongah Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih, Ka lok na tahngai o ai; nangcae loe nawkamya loihaih, na imtaeng kaminawk loihaih to na paek o ai; to pongah khenah, sumsen, kasae nathaih, khokhahaih hoiah duek hanah, loihhaih to kang paek o boeh; raihaih tongh hanah long nui prae kaminawk boih salakah kang thak o han.
Therefore thus says the LORD: "You have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor: look, I proclaim to you a liberty, says the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.
18 Ka hmaa ah lokmaihaih a sak o ih baktih toengah, sah ai kaminawk loe maitaw caa to a um ah baawk o moe, moi salakah a caeh o baktih toengah ka sak han,
I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts;
19 Judah ukkung angraengnawk, Jerusalem ukkung angraengnawk, tangyat mii dueh kaminawk, qaimanawk, baawk ih maitaw caa salakah lam caeh prae kaminawk boih,
the officials of Judah, and the officials of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf;
20 angmacae ih misa, nihcae hinghaih pakrong kaminawk ban ah ka paek han; nihcae ih qok loe van ih tavaanawk hoi taw ih moinawk han buh ah om tih.
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life; and their dead bodies shall be for food to the birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth.
21 Judah siangpahrang Zedekiah hoi anih ih ukkung angraengnawk loe angmacae misa, angmacae hinghaih pakrong kaminawk, nangcae khae hoi amlaem let Babylon siangpahrang misatuh kaminawk ban ah ka paek han.
And Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, who have gone away from you.
22 Khenah, nihcae to lok ka paek moe, hae vangpui thungah kang hoih let han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih; nihcae mah tuh o tih, la o ueloe, hmai hoiah thlaek o tih; Judah vangpuinawk loe kami om ai ah ka pongsak sut han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
Look, I will command, says the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant."'"
