< Deuteronomy 7 >

1 Na toep o han ih prae ah na caeh o hanah, Angraeng mah nangcae hmaa ah Hit acaeng, Girgash acaeng, Amor acaeng, Kanaan acaeng, Periz acaeng, Hiv acaeng, Jebus acaeng hoi nangcae pong kalen, thacak kue acaeng sarihtonawk to haek boeh,
When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perrizites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
2 Angraeng mah nihcae to nangcae ban ah paek naah, nihcae to na takroek o ueloe, na hum o boih tih; nihcae hoi lokmaihaih sah o hmah loe, nihcae nuiah palungnathaih to tawn o hmah;
And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee, thou shalt smite them [and] utterly destroy them, thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them:
3 nihcae hoi imthong krah o hmah; anih capa hanah na canu to paek o hmah loe, na capa hanah anih ih canu to zu ah la pae o hmah.
Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give to his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take to thy son.
4 To tih ai nahaeloe nihcae mah na capanawk to kai khae hoiah kalah sithawnawk khaeah caeh o haih ving moeng tih; to naah nangcae nuiah Angraeng palungphuihaih hmai baktih angqong ueloe, nangcae to amrosak boih tih.
For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
5 Nihcae nuiah hae tiah sah oh; nihcae ih hmaicamnawk to phrae oh, krangnawk hoi tungnawk to pakhruh pae oh loe, a sak o ih krangnawk to hmai hoiah thlaek pae oh.
But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
6 Nangcae loe na Angraeng Sithaw ih ciimcai kami ah na oh o; kahoih koek angmah ih kami ah ohsak hanah, long nuiah kaom kaminawk boih thung hoiah na Angraeng Sithaw mah ang qoih o boeh.
For thou [art] a holy people to the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people to himself, above all people that [are] upon the face of the earth.
7 Nangcae loe kalah kaminawk pongah na pop o pongah, Angraeng mah nangcae to palung moe, qoih ih na ai ni; nangcae loe kalah kaminawk pongah na tamsi o;
The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye [were] the fewest of all people:
8 Angraeng mah nangcae to palung moe, nam saenawk khaeah sak ih lokkamhaih to phraek han koeh ai pongah, thacak a ban hoiah misong ah na oh o haih prae, Izip siangpahrang Faro ih ban thung hoiah ang zaeh o.
But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn to your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bond-men, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9 To pongah na Angraeng Sithaw loe, Sithaw ni, tiah panoek oh; anih loe oep kathok Sithaw ah oh, anih loe palungnathaih hoiah sak ih a lokkamhaih to, a palung ih kaminawk hoi a paek ih lok pakuem kaminawk khaeah, caa patoeng adung sangto karoek to caksakkung ah oh.
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations:
10 Toe anih hnuma kaminawk to amrosak hanah, nihcae hmaa ah Anih mah lu la tih; anih hnuma kaminawk loe mikhmai khethaih om ai ah, nihcae hma ah danpaek tih.
And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.
11 To pongah vaihniah pazui han kang paek o ih loknawk, zaehhoihaih daanawk hoi lokcaekhaihnawk to kahoih ah pazui oh.
Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
12 Hae ih lokcaekhaihnawk hae na pakuem o moe, na pazui o nahaeloe, nam panawk khaeah sak ih lokkamhaih hoi palungnathaih to na Angraeng Sithaw mah caksak poe tih.
Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God will keep to thee the covenant and the mercy which he swore to thy fathers:
13 Anih mah na palung o tih, tahamhoihaih na paek o ueloe, angpungsak tih; nangcae khae paek hanah, nam panawk khaeah sak ih lokkamhaih baktih toengah to prae thungah, na zok thung ih athaih to tahamhoihaih na paek ueloe, na lawk thung ih thingthai qumpo, cang, misurtui, situi, maitaw caanawk hoi tuu khongkha thung ih tuu caanawk to pungsak tih.
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless thy children, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he swore to thy fathers to give thee.
14 Kalah kaminawk pongah doeh tahamhoihaih na hnu o tih; nangcae salak ih nongpa maw, nongpata maw loe caa sah ai kami to om mak ai, to tih khue ai nangmah ih maitaw thungah doeh caa sah ai maitaw to om mak ai.
Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15 Angraeng mah nathaih thung hoiah na loih o sak tih; na panoek o ih Izip prae thung ih kasae nathaih to nangcae nuiah phasak mak ai; toe nang hnuma kaminawk nuiah loe phasak tih.
And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt (which thou knowest) upon thee; but will lay them upon all [them] that hate thee.
16 Angraeng mah nangcae ban ah paek han ih kaminawk to na hum o boih tih; nihcae to tahmen o hmah loe, nihcae sithawnawk ih tok doeh sah pae o hmah; to baktih hmuen loe nangcae han patungh ih dongh ah om tih.
And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver to thee; thy eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that [will be] a snare to thee.
17 Hae kaminawk loe kai pongah pop o; nihcae to kawbangah maw ka haek thai tih? tiah palung thung hoiah na poek doeh om tih.
If thou shalt say in thy heart, These nations [are] more than I, how can I dispossess them?
18 Toe nihcae to zii hmah; Faro hoi Izip kaminawk khaeah na Angraeng Sithaw mah sak ih hmuen to panoek ah.
Thou shalt not be afraid of them: [but] shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did to Pharaoh, and to all Egypt;
19 Na Angraeng Sithaw mah thacak a ban payuenghaih hoiah ni nangcae to ang zaeh o, na Angraeng Sithaw mah na zit ih kaminawk khaeah doeh, na hnuk ih kalen parai tanoekhaihnawk, angmathaih hoi dawnrai hmuennawk boih to sah pae toeng tih.
The great temptations which thy eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the out-stretched arm, by which the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do to all the people of whom thou art afraid.
20 Anghawk kaminawk hoi anghmat kaminawk, hum bit ai karoek to na Angraeng Sithaw mah khoimi to patoeh tih.
Moreover, the LORD thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, shall be destroyed.
21 Nangcae salakah thacak moe, zit kathok Sithaw, na Angraeng Sithaw to oh pongah, nihcae to zii o hmah.
Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God [is] among you, a mighty God and terrible.
22 Na Angraeng Sithaw mah to kaminawk to na hma ah maeto pacoeng maeto haek tih; nihcae to vaito ah haek boih mak ai; to tih ai nahaeloe nang hanah taw ih moisannawk to pung o moeng tih.
And the LORD thy God will drive out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
23 Toe na Angraeng Sithaw mah na ban ah nihcae to paek tih, nihcae to hum ai karoek to, kalen parai amrohaih hoiah amrosak tih.
But the LORD thy God shall deliver them to thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they are destroyed.
24 Na ban ah nihcae ih siangpahrangnawk to paek ueloe, van tlim hoiah nihcae ih ahminnawk to na phrae pae tih; nihcae amrohaih tongh o ai karoek to, na hma ah mi doeh angdoe o thai mak ai.
And he shall deliver their kings into thy hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou shalt have destroyed them.
25 Nihcae ih sithaw ah kaom krangnawk to hmai hoiah qoeng pae ah; nihcae ih sui hoi sum kanglung to khit hmah loe, nangmah hanah doeh la hmah; to tih ai nahaeloe dongh pongah na man moeng tih; hae loe na Angraeng Sithaw hanah panuet kathok hmuen ah oh.
The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold [that is] on them, nor take [it] to thee, lest thou shouldst be snared in it: for it [is] an abomination to the LORD thy God.
26 Panuet thok hmuen to nangmah im ah sin hmah; to tih ai nahaeloe nang loe tangoeng ih to hmuen baktiah na om moeng tih; to hmuennawk loe tangoeng ih hmuen ah oh pongah, panuet o ah loe hnuma oh.
Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thy house, lest thou shouldst be a cursed thing like it: [but] thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it [is] a cursed thing.
