< 2 Siangpahrang 23 >

1 To naah siangpahrang Josiah mah, Judah hoi Jerusalem ih kacoehtanawk boih to kawk.
Then the king sent, —and there were gathered unto him, all the elders of Judah, and Jerusalem;
2 Siagpahrang loe Judah kaminawk, Jerusalem ih kaminawk, qaimanawk hoi tahmaanawk, kathoeng kalen kaminawk boih hoi nawnto Angraeng ih im ah caeh tahang. Anih mah Angraeng imthung ah hnuk ih lokmaihaih cabu pong ih loknawk boih to kaminawk thaih hanah kroek pae.
and the king went up to the house of Yahweh, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the people, both small and great, —and he read in their ears, all the words of the book of the covenant, which had been found in the house of Yahweh.
3 Siangpahrang Josiah loe homh taengah angdoet, Angraeng hnukbang hanah, a lokpaekhaihnawk, a thuih ih loknawk, lok takroekhaih daanawk to palungthin tang hoi hinghaih boih hoiah pazui moe, hae lokmaihaih cabu thungah tarik ih loknawk to caksak hanah, Angraeng hmaa ah lokmaihaih to a sak. Kaminawk boih lokmaihaih hmaa ah angdoet o.
And the king took his stand by the pillar, and solemnised a covenant before Yahweh—to follow Yahweh, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes, with all [their] heart and with all [their] soul, to confirm the words of this covenant, written in this book. And all the people took their stand in the covenant.
4 Siangpahrang mah, qaima Hilkiah, anih tlim ah kaom qaimanawk hoi khongkha toep kaminawk khaeah, Baal sithaw, Asherah thing hoi cakaehnawk hanah sak o ih, laom sabaennawk boih to Angraeng im thung hoi tasa bangah pathok hanah lokpaek; to hmuennawk to Jerusalem vangpui tasa bang ih Kidron azawn ah hmai hoiah thlaek o moe, maiphu to Bethel ah sinh o.
Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the entrance-hall, to bring forth, out of the temple of Yahweh, all the vessels that had been made for Baal and for the Sacred Stem, and for all the army of the heavens, —and he burned them up outside Jerusalem, in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Bethel;
5 Judah prae hoi Jerusalem vangpui taeng ih hmuensangnawk boih ah hmuihoih thlaek hanah, Judah siangpahrangnawk mah suek ih, krang kabok qaimanawk, Baal, ni hoi khrah, van ih longnawk hoi cakaehnawk khaeah hmuihoih thlaek kaminawk to takhoe boih.
and he put down the idol-priests, whom the kings of Judah had appointed, so that incense might be burned in the high places, in the cities of Judah, and round about Jerusalem, —them also that burned incense to Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the constellations, and to all the army of the heavens;
6 Angraeng im thung ih Asherah thing to a lak moe, Jerusalem vangpui tasa bang ih Kidron vacong ah a sinh pacoengah, to vacong taengah hmai hoiah a qoeng; kadip puengah naep pacoengah, to maiphu to kaminawk ih taprong ah a haeh.
and he brought forth the Sacred Stem out of the house of Yahweh, outside Jerusalem, into the Kidron ravine, and burned it in the Kidron ravine, and crushed it to powder, —and cast the powder upon the graves of the sons of the people;
7 Nongpatanawk mah Asherah thing hanah kahni sakhaih ahmuen, Angraeng im taeng ih nongpanawk hnukbang tangyat mii kadueh kaminawk ohhaih im doeh a phraek pae.
and he brake down the houses of the male devotees, which were in the house of Yahweh, —where the women did weave houses to the Sacred Stem;
8 Josiah mah Judah prae thung boih ih qaimanawk to kawk moe, nihcae mah hmuihoih thlaekhaih hmuensangnawk to Geba hoi Beersheba khoek to panuet kaom ah sak; Jerusalem vangpui ukkkung, Joshua ih khongkha akunhaih banqoi bangah kaom, vangpui sipae khongkha ih hmuensangnawk doeh vah pae phaeng.
and be brought in all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where, the priests, had burned incense, from Geba unto Beer-sheba, —and brake down the high places of the gates, that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua, the governor of the city, which were on one’s left hand, in the gate of the city;
9 Hmuensang ah toksah qaimanawk loe Jerusalem ih Angraeng hmaicam ah caeh o thai ai; toe taeh thuh ai ih takaw loe ampui qaimanawk hoi nawnto caak o thaih.
howbeit, the priests of the high places came not up unto the altar of Yahweh, in Jerusalem, save only that they did eat unleavened bread in the midst of their brethren;
10 Josiah mah, Mi kawbaktih doeh a canu hoi a capanawk to Molek sithaw khaeah hmai angbawnhaih sak han ai ah, Ben-Hinom azawn ah kaom, Topheth sithaw to panuet thok ah a sak.
and he defiled Topheth, which was in the valley of the son of Hinnom, —so that no man might cause his son or his daughter to pass through the fire unto Molech;
11 Judah siangpahrangnawk mah Ni khaeah tathlangh o ih, Angraeng im akunhaih khongkha taeng ih Nathan-Melek ohhaih imkhaan taengah kaom, hrangnawk doeh vah pae king; ni khaeah tathlangh o ih hrang lakoknawk doeh hmai hoiah a thlaek pae.
and he did away with the horses, which the kings of Judah had devoted to the sun, at the entrance of the house of Yahweh, near the chamber of Nathan-melech the courtier, which was in the suburbs, also, the chariots of the sun, burned he with fire;
12 Judah siangpahrangnawk mah sak o ih, Ahaz imkhaan ranui ih hmaicamnawk, Manasseh mah Angraeng im longhma hnetto pongah sak ih hmaicamnawk to a phraek moe, kadip pueng khoek to boh pae phaeng pacoengah, maiphu dip to Kidron vacong ah a vah.
and, the altars which were on the roof of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, also the altars which Manasseh had made, in the two courts of the house of Yahweh, did the king break down, —and hurried away from thence, and cast out the powder of them into the Kidron ravine;
13 Israel siangpahrang Solomon mah, Jerusalem vangpui ni angyae bang, amrohaih mae aloih bangah kaom, panuet thok Sidon kaminawk ih sithaw Ashtoreth, panuet thok Moab kaminawk ih sithaw Khemost hoi panuet thok Ammon kaminawk ih Milkom sithaw hanah, sak pae ih hmuensangnawk to panuet kaom ah a sak pae.
and, the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of destruction, which Solomon king of Israel had built unto Ashtoreth—the abomination of the Zidonians, and unto Chemosh—the abomination of the Moabites, and unto Milcom—the disgusting thing of the sons of Ammon, did the king defile;
14 Josiah mah krangnawk to vah pae phaeng moe, Asherah thingnawk to pakhruk pae; nihcae ohhaih ahmuen to kami huh hoiah koisak.
and he brake in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Sacred Stems, —and filled their place with human bones:
15 Bethel ih hmaicam, Israel kaminawk zaehaih sahsakkung, Nebat capa Jeroboam mah sak ih, hmuensang, to ah kaom hmaicam hoi hmuensangnawk doeh phraek pae king; hmuensang to hmai hoiah thlaek pacoengah, kadip pueng khoek to a boh pae; Asherah thing doeh hmai hoiah a thlaek.
moreover also, the altar that was in Bethel, the high place which Jeroboam son of Nebat made, wherewith he caused, Israel, to sin, —even that altar, and the high place, brake he down, —and burned the high place, crushing it to powder, and burned a Sacred Stem.
16 Josiah mah khet moe, mae nuiah kaom taprongnawk to hnuk naah, kami to patoeh moe, taprong thung ih kami huh to laksak; Sithaw ih kami mah thuicoek ih Angraeng ih lok baktih toengah, ahuhnawk to hmaicam nuiah hmai hoiah thlaek moe, panuet kaom ah a sak.
And, when Josiah turned, and saw the graves which were there, in the mount, he sent and took the bones out of the graves, and burned upon the altar, and defiled it, —according to the word of Yahweh, which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these things.
17 Siangpahrang mah, Taprong thlung nuiah ka hnuk ih hmuen loe tih aa? tiah a naa. Vangpui thung ih kaminawk mah, Hae loe Judah prae thung hoiah angzoh moe, vaihniah Bethel ih hmaicam nuiah na sak ih hmuen to ka koeh ai, tiah thuikung, Sithaw kami angmathaih ih taprong ni, tiah thuih pae o.
Then said he—What is yonder erection, which I do see? And the men of the city said unto him—The grave of the man of God, who came in out of Judah, and proclaimed these things, which thou hast done, concerning the altar of Bethel.
18 Anih mah, To tiah suem o duem ah; mi mah doeh anih ih ahuh to takhoe o hmah nasoe, tiah a naa. To pongah anih ih ahuh hoi Samaria hoiah angzo kaminawk ih ahuh to a caeh o taak.
And he said—Let him rest, let, no man, disturb his bones. So they let his bones rest, with the bones of the prophet who came in out of Samaria.
19 Bethel vangpui ah sak ih baktih toengah, Josiah mah Angraeng palungphuisak hanah, Samaria vangpuinawk thungah Israel siangpahrangnawk mah sak o ih hmuensangnawk hoi bokhaih ahmuennawk to phraek pae king.
Moreover also, all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made, so as to provoke Yahweh to anger, did Josiah remove, —and he did to them according to all the doings which he had done in Bethel;
20 Josiah mah toksah qaimanawk to hmuensang ih hmaicamnawk nuiah hum boih moe, kami huhnawk to to hmaicam nuiah hmai hoi thlaek pacoengah, Jerusalem ah amlaem.
and he sacrificed all the priests of the high places, who were there, by the altars, and burned human bones thereupon, —and returned to Jerusalem.
21 Siangpahrang mah kaminawk boih khaeah, Hae lokmaihaih cabu thungah tarik ih baktih toengah, na Angraeng Sithaw khaeah misong loihaih poih to sah oh.
Then did the king command all the people, saying, Keep ye a passover unto Yahweh, your God, —such as is written in this book of the covenant.
22 Israel zaehoikung lokcaekkungnawk ih adung hoiah kamtong, Israel siangpahrangnawk hoi Judah siangpahrangnawk dung thung boih ah, to baktih misong loihaih poih to sah o vai ai;
Surely there had not been held such a passover as this, from the days of the Judges who judged Israel, —nor all the days of the kings of Israel, and the kings of Judah;
23 toe Josiah siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlaitazetto naah, Angraeng khaeah misong loihhaih poih to Jerusalem ah sak o.
save only, in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, when this passover was held unto Yahweh, in Jerusalem.
24 To pacoengah Josiah loe, qaima Hilkiah mah Angraeng im thungah hnuk ih Sithaw lok cabu thungah tarik ih loknawk baktih toengah pazui hanah, pakhra hoi mauihnawk, krangnawk, sakcop ih krangnawk han toksah kaminawk, Judah prae hoi Jerusalem ah kaom panuet thok hmuennawk to a phraek boih.
Moreover also, them who had familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the household gods, and the manufactured gods, and the abominations which were to be seen in the land of Judah, and in Jerusalem, did Josiah consume, —that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the house of Yahweh.
25 Josiah siangpahrang ah om ai nathuem hoi anih siangpahrang ah oh pacoeng khoek to, Josiah baktiah poekhaih palungthin boih, a hinghaih boih, a thacakhaih boih hoi Mosi mah paek ih kaalok baktih toengah, Angraeng khaeah amlaem kami maeto doeh om ai.
And, like him, was no king, before him, who turned unto Yahweh with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses, —neither, after him, arose one, like him.
26 Toe Manasseh mah palungphuisak pongah, Judah nuiah Angraeng palungphuihaih to dipsak let thai ai.
Howbeit, Yahweh turned not away from the glow of his great anger, wherewith his anger glowed against Judah—because of all the provocations wherewith, Manasseh, had provoked him.
27 Angraeng mah, Israel kaminawk ka hmaa hoi takhoe boih baktih toengah, Judahnawk doeh ka takhoe han; Ka Hmin loe, ka qoih ih hae vangpui, Jerusalem hoi to ih ahmuen ah om tih, tiah ka thuih ih im to ka takhoe ving han, tiah a thuih.
So Yahweh said: Even Judah, will I remove from my presence, as I have removed Israel, —and will reject this city, which I had chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house as to which I had said, My Name, shall be, there.
28 Josiah siangpahrang ah oh nathung toksakhaihnawk hoi a sak ih hmuennawk loe, Judah siangpahrangnawk ahmin pakuemhaih cabu thungah tarik o na ai maw?
Now, the rest of the story of Josiah, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
29 Josiah siangpahrang dung ah, Izip siangpahrang Faro-Neko loe Euphrate vapui khoek to, Assyria siangpahrang tuk hanah caeh tahang; Josiah siangpahrang loe anih to tuk hanah caeh; Neko mah anih to Megiddo ah hnuk, misa angtuk hoi naah Josiah to anih mah hum.
In his days, came up Pharaoh-necoh king of Egypt, against the king of Assyria, unto the river Euphrates, —and, when King Josiah went against him, he slew him at Megiddo, as soon as he saw him.
30 Josiah ih tamnanawk mah anih ih qok to hrang lakok pongah Megiddo hoi Jerusalem ah phawh o moe, angmah ih taprong ah aphum o. A prae thung ih kaminawk mah Josiah capa Jehoahaz to situi bawh o pacoengah, ampa zuengah siangpahrang ah suek o.
And his servants conveyed him in a chariot, dead, from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre, —and the people of the land took Jehoahaz, son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made, him, king, in his father’s stead.
31 Jehoahaz siangpahrang ah oh nathuem ah, saning pumphae thumto oh boeh; anih mah Jerusalem to khrah thumto thung uk. Anih amno ih ahmin loe, Libnah ah kaom, Jeremiah canu Hamutal.
Twenty-three years old, was Jehoahaz when he began to reign, and, three months, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.
32 Ampanawk mah sak ih hmuennawk baktih toengah, anih doeh Angraeng mikhnukah kahoih ai hmuen to sak.
And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that his, fathers, had done.
33 Siangpahrang mah Jerusalem to uk han ai ah, Faro-Neko mah anih to Hamath prae Riblah vangpui ah thongim pakhrak moe, Judah kaminawk han phoisa talent cumvaito hoi sui talent maeto tamut paeksak.
And Pharaoh-necoh put him in bonds at Riblah, in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem, —and he laid a fine upon the land, a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
34 Faro-Neko mah Josiah capa Eliakim to ampa Josiah zuengah siangpahrang ah suek moe, Eliakim to Jehoiakim, tiah ahmin athlaeng pae; toe Jehoahaz loe Izip prae ah misong ah caeh haih; anih loe to ah duek.
And Pharaoh-necoh made Eliakim son of Josiah king, instead of Josiah his father, and turned his name to Jehoiakim, —and, Jehoahaz, took he away, so he entered Egypt, and died there.
35 Faro-Neko mah tamut hnik baktih toengah, Jehoiakim mah sui hoi phoisa to paek; prae kaminawk khaeah paek koi angmah ih taham tamut to kok moe, sui hoi phoisa to Faro-Neko hanah paek.
And, the silver and the gold, did Jehoiakim give unto Pharaoh, howbeit he assessed the land, that he might give the silver at the bidding of Pharaoh, —every man, according to his assessment, exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, that he might give it to Pharaoh-necoh.
36 Jehoiakim loe siangpahrang ah oh naah, saning pumphae pangato oh boeh; anih mah Jerusalem to saning hatlaito thung uk. Amno loe Pedaiah canu Zebidah; anih loe Rumah ah kaom kami ni.
Twenty-five years old, was Jehoiakim when he began to reign, and, eleven years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, his mother’s name, was Zebudah daughter of Pedaiah, of Rumah.
37 Ampanawk mah sak o ih hmuennawk baktih toengah, anih mah doeh Angraeng mikhnukah kahoih ai hmuen to sak.
And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —according to all that, his fathers, had done.
