< 1 Mafumu 14 >

1 Pa nthawi imeneyo Abiya mwana wa Yeroboamu anayamba kudwala,
At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
2 ndipo Yeroboamu anati kwa mkazi wake, “Nyamuka ndipo udzibise kuti usadziwike kuti ndiwe mkazi wa Yeroboamu, ndipo upite ku Silo. Kumeneko kuli mneneri Ahiya amene anandiwuza kuti ndidzakhala mfumu ya anthu awa.
Then said Jeroboam to his wife—Arise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam, —and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
3 Utenge buledi khumi, makeke ndiponso botolo la uchi ndipo upite kwa mneneriyo. Iye adzakuwuza zimene zidzamuchitikire mwanayu.”
and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him, —he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
4 Choncho mkazi wa Yeroboamu anadzibisa ndipo anapita ku nyumba ya Ahiya ku Silo. Tsono Ahiya sankatha kupenya bwino. Ankangoona kuti mbuu chifukwa cha ukalamba.
And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah, —now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
5 Koma Yehova nʼkuti atamuwuza Ahiya kuti, “Taona, mkazi wa Yeroboamu akubwera kudzafunsa iwe za mwana wake pakuti akudwala, ndiye udzamuyankhe zakutizakuti mkaziyo. Iye akafika, adzadzibisa.”
But, Yahweh, had said unto Ahijah—Lo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her, —though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
6 Tsono Ahiya atamva mgugu wa mapazi ake pa khomo, anati, “Lowa, iwe mkazi wa Yeroboamu. Bwanji ukudzibisa? Ine ndatumidwa kuti ndikuwuze nkhani yoyipa.
So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he said—Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam, —wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
7 Pita, kamuwuze Yeroboamu kuti Yehova Mulungu wa Israeli akuti, ‘Ine ndinakukweza pakati pa anthu ndipo ndinakuyika kukhala mtsogoleri wa anthu anga Aisraeli.
Go, say to Jeroboam—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people, —and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
8 Ndinachotsa ufumu ku nyumba ya Davide ndi kuwupereka kwa iwe, koma iwe sunafanane ndi mtumiki wanga Davide, amene ankasunga malamulo anga ndi kunditsata Ine ndi mtima wake wonse, kuchita zolungama zokhazokha pamaso panga.
and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee, —and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
9 Ndipo iwe wachita zoyipa kupambana onse amene analipo kale. Wadzipangira milungu ina, mafano a zitsulo. Iweyo wandikwiyitsa ndipo wandiwukira.
but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee, —and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
10 “‘Choncho taona, ndidzabweretsa masautso pa nyumba ya Yeroboamu. Ndipo ndidzawononga munthu wamwamuna aliyense wa pa banja lako, kapolo pamodzi ndi mfulu yemwe mʼdziko la Israeli. Ndidzatentha nyumba ya Yeroboamu monga mmene munthu amatenthera ndowe mpaka yonse kutheratu.
therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel, —and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
11 Agalu adzadya aliyense wa banja la Yeroboamu amene adzafere mu mzinda, ndipo mbalame zamlengalenga zidzadya iwo amene adzafere ku thengo, pakuti Yehova watero!’
Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
12 “Ndipo iwe nyamuka, bwerera ku nyumba kwako. Phazi lako likadzangoponda mu mzindamo, mwanayo adzamwalira.
Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house, —as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
13 Aisraeli onse adzalira maliro ake ndi kumuyika mʼmanda. Ndi yekhayo wa banja la Yeroboamu amene adzayikidwe mʼmanda, pakuti ndi mwa iye yekha mmene Yehova Mulungu wa Israeli wapezamo kanthu kabwino.
Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place, —because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14 “Koma Yehova adzadzisankhira yekha mfumu yolamulira Israeli imene idzawononga banja la Yeroboamu. Tsiku lake ndi lero! Ndati chiyani? Inde, ndi lero lomwe lino.
Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
15 Ndipo Yehova adzakantha Israeli, kotero kuti adzakhala ngati bango logwedera pa madzi. Iye adzazula Israeli mʼdziko labwino limene analipereka kwa makolo ake ndi kuwamwazira kutsidya kwa mtsinje wa Yufurate, chifukwa anakwiyitsa Yehova pamene anapanga mafano a Asera.
Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates), —because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
16 Ndipo Iye sadzasamalanso Israeli chifukwa cha machimo amene anachita Yeroboamu ndi kuchimwitsa nawo Israeli.”
That he may deliver up Israel, —on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
17 Tsono mkazi wa Yeroboamu anayimirira nachoka kupita ku Tiriza. Atangoponda pa khonde la nyumba yake, mwana uja anamwalira.
Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah, —as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
18 Aisraeli anamuyika mʼmanda, ndipo onse analira maliro ake, monga momwe Yehova ananenera kudzera mwa mtumiki wake, mneneri Ahiya.
And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19 Ntchito zina pa nthawi ya ulamuliro wa Yeroboamu, nkhondo zake ndi mmene ankalamulirira zinalembedwa mʼbuku la mbiri ya mafumu a Israeli.
Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
20 Iye analamulira zaka 22 ndipo anamwalira nayikidwa mʼmanda pamodzi ndi makolo ake. Ndipo Nadabu mwana wake analowa ufumu mʼmalo mwake.
And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years, —and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
21 Rehobowamu mwana wa Solomoni anali mfumu ya ku Yuda. Iye analowa ufumu ali ndi zaka 41, ndipo analamulira zaka 17 ku Yerusalemu, mzinda umene Yehova anawusankha pakati pa mafuko a Israeli kuti ayikemo Dzina lake. Amayi ake anali Naama, wa ku Amoni.
And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah, —forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mother’s name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
22 Anthu a ku Yuda anachita zoyipa pamaso pa Yehova kupambana mmene anachitira makolo awo ndipo Yehova anawakwiyira.
And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
23 Iwonso anadzipangira malo opembedzerapo mafano pa chitunda chilichonse ndi kuyimika miyala ya chipembedzo ndi mitengo ya Asera pa mtengo uliwonse wa masamba ambiri.
And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems, —upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 Mʼdzikomo munalinso amuna ochita zachiwerewere mwa chipembedzo. Anthu ankachita zonyansa zonse za anthu a mitundu ina imene Yehova anayipirikitsa asanafike Aisraeli.
Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land, —they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
25 Chaka chachisanu cha ufumu wa Rehobowamu, Sisaki, mfumu ya Igupto, anadzathira nkhondo Yerusalemu.
And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
26 Ananyamula chuma cha ku Nyumba ya Yehova ndiponso chuma cha ku nyumba ya mfumu. Anatenga chilichonse, ngakhalenso zishango zonse zagolide zimene Solomoni anapanga.
and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away, —and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
27 Ndipo Mfumu Rehobowamu anapanga zishango zamkuwa mʼmalo mwake, nazipereka mʼmanja mwa olamulira alonda a pa khomo pa nyumba ya mfumu.
So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze, —and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
28 Nthawi zonse mfumu ikamapita ku Nyumba ya Yehova, alonda ankanyamula zishangozo, kenaka ankazisunga mʼchipinda cha alonda.
And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
29 Tsono ntchito zina za Rehobowamu ndi zina zonse zimene anachita, kodi sizinalembedwe mʼbuku la mbiri ya mafumu a Yuda?
Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
30 Panali nkhondo zosalekeza pakati pa Rehobowamu ndi Yeroboamu.
And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
31 Ndipo Rehobowamu anamwalira nayikidwa mʼmanda pamodzi ndi makolo ake mu mzinda wa Davide. Amayi ake anali Naama wa ku Amoni. Ndipo Abiya analowa ufumu mʼmalo mwa abambo ake.
So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess, —and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
