1 ᎩᎳᏉᏃ ᎢᏴᏛ ᏭᎩᏨᏅ ᏄᏂᎬᏫᏳᏒ ᎠᏥᎸ-ᎠᏁᎶᎯ, ᎠᎴ ᏧᎾᏛᏐᏅᎯ, ᎠᎴ ᏗᏃᏪᎵᏍᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᏂᎦᏛ ᏗᏂᎳᏫᎩ ᎤᎾᎵᏃᎮᎸ ᎤᎾᎸᎴ ᏥᏌ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᎾᏘᎾᏫᏛᎮᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏆᎴᏗ ᏫᏚᏂᏲᎯᏎᎴᎢ.
And forthwith in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders and scribes, and the whole Sanhedrin, having held a consultation, and having bound Jesus, led him away, and delivered him to Pilate.
2 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᎤᏛᏛᏁ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎴᎢ, ᏂᎯᏍᎪ ᏣᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏂᏧᏏ ᎤᎾᏤᎵᎦ? ᎤᏁᏨᏃ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎴᎢ, ᏰᎵᏉ ᏂᏫ.
And Pilate asked him: Are you the King of the Jews? And he answering, said: You say it.
3 ᏄᏂᎬᏫᏳᏒᏃ ᎠᏥᎸ-ᎠᏁᎶᎯ ᎤᏣᏖ ᏧᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎬᏭᎯᏍᏗᏍᎨᎢ.
And the chief priests accused him of many things.
4 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᏔᎵᏁ ᎤᏛᏛᏁ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ; ᏝᏍᎪ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᏯᏗᎭ? ᎬᏂᏳᏉ ᎤᏣᏘ ᏧᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎠᏂᏃᎮᎭ ᎨᏣᏡᏗᎭ.
Pilate again asked him, saying: Do you make no answer? See, how many things they testify against you.
5 ᎠᏎᏃ ᏥᏌ ᎠᏏ ᎥᏝ ᎪᎱᏍᏗ ᏯᏗᏍᎨᎢ; ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᏆᎴᏗ ᎤᏍᏆᏂᎪᏎᎢ.
But Jesus gave no further answer; so that Pilate was astonished.
6 ᏓᎾᎵᏍᏓᏴᎲᏍᎬᏃ ᎢᏳᎢ ᏓᏲᎯᏎᎮ ᎠᏏᏴᏫ ᎠᏴᎩ, ᎾᏍᎩᏉ ᎠᏂᏔᏲᎭ.
Now it was his custom to release to them, at the feast, one prisoner, whomever they desired.
7 ᎠᏏᏴᏫᏃ ᎡᎮ ᏆᎳᏆ ᏧᏙᎢᏛ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏧᎳᎭ ᏕᎨᎦᎸᎡ ᎬᏩᎵᎪᏁᎸᎯ ᎤᎾᏓᏑᏰᏛ ᎤᎾᎵᏖᎸᏅᎯ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎾᏓᎸᎯ ᎨᏎ ᎾᎯᏳ ᎤᎾᏓᏑᏰᏛ ᎤᎾᎵᏖᎸᏅᎢ.
And there was one called Barabbas, lying bound with his fellow-insurgents, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
8 ᎤᏂᏣᏘᏃ ᎠᏍᏓᏯ ᎤᎾᎵᏍᏕᎢ, ᎤᎾᎴᏅᎮ ᎤᏂᏔᏲᎴ ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏂᏚᏛᏁᎸ ᏧᏩᎫᏔᏅᏒ ᎢᏧᏛᏁᏗᏱ.
And the multitude cried out, and began to ask him to do as he had always done for them.
9 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᏚᏁᏤᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ, ᎢᏣᏚᎵᏍᎪ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏂᏧᏏ ᎤᎾᏤᎵᎦ ᏗᏳᏲᎯᏎᏗᏱ.
But Pilate answered them, saying: Do you wish me to release to you the King of the Jews?
10 ᎠᎦᏔᎮᏰᏃ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏄᏂᎬᏫᏳᏒ ᎠᏥᎸ-ᎠᏁᎶᎯ ᎠᏅᏳᏤᎲᏉ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᏍᎬ ᏕᎬᏩᏲᏒᎢ.
For he knew that, through envy, the chief priests had delivered him up.
11 ᎠᏎᏃ ᏄᏂᎬᏳᏒ ᎠᏥᎸ-ᎠᏁᎶᎯ ᏄᏅᏂᏌᏁ ᎤᏂᏣᏘ ᏴᏫ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᏆᎳᏆ ᎤᏂᏔᏲᏍᏗᏱ ᏧᏲᎯᏎᏗᏱ.
But the chief priests instigated the multitude, that he should rather release Barabbas to them.
12 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᏔᎵᏁ ᎤᏁᏨ, ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎴᎢ, ᎦᏙᏃ ᎢᏣᏚᎵ ᏥᏴᏁᏗᏱ ᎾᏍᎩ Ꮎ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏂᏧᏏ ᎤᎾᏤᎵᎦ ᏤᏦᏎᎭ?
And Pilate answered and said again to them: What, then, do you wish me to do with him whom you call the King of the Jews?
13 ᏔᎵᏁᏃ ᎤᏁᎷᏁᎢ ᎯᏯᏛᎥᎦ ᎤᎾᏛᏁᎢ.
They again cried out: Crucify him.
14 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᎯᎠ ᏂᏚᏪᏎᎴᎢ, ᎦᏙᏃ, ᎦᏙ ᎤᏍᏗ ᎤᏲ ᏚᎸᏫᏍᏓᏁᎸ? ᎠᏎᏃ ᎤᏟᏉ ᎢᏯᏍᏓᏯ ᎤᏁᎷᏁᎢ, ᎯᏯᏛᎥᎦ, ᎤᎾᏛᏁᎢ.
But Pilate said to them: Why, what evil has he done? But they cried vehemently: Crucify him.
15 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᎣᏏᏳ ᎤᏰᎸᏎ ᎣᏍᏛ ᏧᏓᏅᏓᏗᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᎤᏂᏣᏘ, ᏚᏲᎯᏎᎴ ᏆᎳᏆ, ᏥᏌᏃ ᎤᎵᎥᏂᎸ ᏚᏲᏎ ᎠᎦᏛᏗᏱ.
And Pilate, willing to gratify the multitude, released to them Barabbas; and delivered Jesus, after he had scourged him, to be crucified.
16 ᎠᏂᏯᏫᏍᎩᏃ ᎬᏩᏘᎾᏫᏛᎮ ᏫᎬᏩᏴᏔᏁ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯᏱ ᎠᏓᏁᎸᎢ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏣᏥᎳᏫᏤᏗᏱ, ᏂᎦᏛᏃ ᏑᎾᏓᏡᎩ ᏫᏚᏂᏯᏅᎮᎢ.
And the soldiers led him away within the court, which is the governor’s house, and called together the whole band.
17 ᎩᎦᎨᏃ ᎬᏩᏄᏪᎡᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᎵᏍᏚᎶ ᏧᏣᏲᏍᏗ ᎪᏢᏔᏅᎯ ᎤᏂᏍᏕᏲᏅ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏂᏍᏚᎶᏔᏁᎢ.
And they clothed him in purple; and having plaited a crown of thorn branches, they put it on him,
18 ᎠᎴ ᎤᎾᎴᏅᎮ ᎠᏂᏲᎵᎮᎢ, ᎢᏨᏲᎵᎦ, ᏣᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏂᏧᏏ ᎤᎾᏤᎵᎦ, ᎠᎾᏗᏍᎨᎢ.
and began to salute him: Hail, King of the Jews!
19 ᎠᏍᎪᎵᏃ ᏕᎬᏩᏂᎮ ᎦᎾᏍᏓ ᎬᏗ, ᎠᎴ ᏕᎬᏩᎵᏥᏍᏆᏍᎨᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏓᎾᎵᏂᏆᏅᎥᏍᎨ ᎬᏩᏓᏙᎵᏍᏓᏁᎮᎢ.
And they struck him on the head with a reed, and spit upon him, and bowing their knees, did him homage.
20 ᎤᎾᏕᎰᏔᏃᏅᏃ, ᎬᏩᏄᏪᏎ ᎩᎦᎨᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏩᏒ ᏧᏄᏬ ᏕᎬᏩᏄᏬᎡᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏫᎬᏩᏘᏅᏍᏔᏁ ᎬᏩᏛᏗᏱ.
And when they had derided him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.
21 ᎩᎶᏃ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᏌᏩᏂ ᏧᏙᎢᏛ ᏌᎵᏂ ᎡᎯ ᎠᎢᏎᎢ, ᏙᏗᎦᎶᎨᏒ ᏅᏓᏳᎶᏒᎯ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎡᎵᎩ ᎠᎴ ᎷᏆᏏ ᎤᏂᏙᏓ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏤᎵ ᏧᏓᎿᎭᏩᏛ ᎤᏪᏅᏍᏗᏱ ᏄᏅᏁᎴᎢ.
And they compelled one Simon, a Cyrenian, (the father of Alexander and Rufus, ) who was passing by, coming in from the country, to bear his cross.
22 ᎪᎵᎦᏓᏃ ᏚᏙᎥ ᏫᎬᏩᏘᏅᏔᏁᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏁᏢᏔᏅᎯ ᎨᏒ ᎤᏍᏆᎷᎪ ᎦᏛᎦ.
And they brought him to the place Golgotha, which is, when translated, the place of a skull.
23 ᎬᏩᏁᏁᎴᏃ ᎤᏗᏔᏍᏗ ᎩᎦᎨᎠᏗᏔᏍᏗ ᎻᎳ ᎠᏑᎵ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᎥᏝ ᏳᏁᎩᏎᎢ.
And they gave him wine mingled with myrrh, to drink: but he did not receive it.
24 ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᏓᏓᎿᎭᏩᏍᏛ ᎬᏩᏛᏅ ᎤᏂᏯᏙᎴ ᏧᏄᏬᎢ, ᎤᎾᏎᏒᎮ ᎤᎾᏙᎴᎰᎯᏍᏗᏱ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏂᏏᏴᏫᎭ ᏧᏂᏁᏒᏍᏗ ᎨᏒᎢ.
And when they had crucified him, they divided his clothes among themselves, casting lots for them, what each one should take.
25 ᏐᎣᏁᎳᏃ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎧᎳᏩᏗᏒ ᎨᏎᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎬᏩᏛᏁᎢ.
And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
26 ᎦᎸᎳᏗᏢᏃ ᎪᏪᎴ ᏄᏍᏛ ᎠᎫᎢᏍᏛᎢ, ᎯᎠ ᏂᎬᏁᎢ, ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏂᏧᏏ ᎤᎾᏤᎵᎦ.
And the superscription containing his accusation was written above him: THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27 ᎢᏧᎳᎭᏃ ᏕᎨᎦᏛᏁ ᎠᏂᏔᎵ ᏗᎾᏓᎾᏌᎲᏍᎩ; ᎠᏏᏴᏫ ᎠᎦᏘᏏᏗᏢ, ᏐᎢᏃ ᎠᎦᏍᎦᏂ ᎢᏗᏢ.
And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
28 ᎪᏪᎸᏃ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᏁᎢ, ᎯᎠ ᏥᏂᎦᏪᎭ, ᎤᏂᏍᎦᏅᏨᎯ ᎨᎦᏎᎸ ᎠᎦᏠᏯᏍᏔᏅᎩ.
And the scripture was fulfilled, which says: And he was numbered with transgressors.
29 ᎠᏂᎶᏍᎩᏃ ᎦᎬᏩᏐᏢᏗᏍᎨᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏓᎾᎵᏍᏛᏂᎮ ᎯᎠ ᎾᏂᏪᏍᎨᎢ, Ᏺ, ᎤᏛᏅ-ᏗᎦᎳᏫᎢᏍᏗᏱ ᎯᏲᏍᏗᏍᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᏦᎢᏉᏉ ᎢᎦ ᎯᏱᎵᏙᎯ ᎭᏁᏍᎨᏍᎩ,
And those who passed by reviled him, shaking their heads, and saying: Aha! you that destroy the temple, and build it in three days,
30 ᏨᏒ ᎭᎵᏍᏕᎸ, ᎠᎴ ᎡᎭᏠᎠᎯ ᏓᏓᎿᎭᏩᏍᏛᎢ.
save yourself, and come down from the cross.
31 ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏄᏂᎬᏫᏳᏒ ᎠᏥᎸ ᎠᏁᎶᎯ ᎠᎴ ᏗᏃᏪᎵᏍᎩ ᎬᏩᏕᎰᏗᏍᎬ, ᎯᎠ ᏂᏓᎾᏓᏪᏎᎮᎢ, ᏅᏩᎾᏓᎴ ᏓᏍᏕᎵᏍᎬᎩ; ᎤᏩᏒ ᎥᏝ ᏴᎬᎵᏍᏕᎸ.
Likewise the chief priests, with the scribes, speaking in derision one to another, said: He saved others; himself he can not save.
32 ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎢᏏᎵ ᎤᎾᏤᎵᎦ ᎿᎭᏉ ᏩᏠᎠᎯ ᏓᏓᎿᎭᏩᏍᏛᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎣᎩᎪᏩᏛᏗᏱ ᎠᎴ ᎣᎪᎯᏳᏗᏱ. ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏧᎳᎭ ᏗᎨᎦᏛᏅᎯ ᎦᎬᏩᏐᏢᏕᎢ.
Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe. Those also who were crucified with him, reproached him.
33 ᏔᎳᏚᏃ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎤᎵᏰᎢᎶᎸ ᎤᎵᏏᎲᏎ ᏂᎬᎾᏛ ᎾᎿᎭᎦᏙᎯ, ᏦᎢ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎢᏯᏍᏘ.
And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land, till the ninth hour.
34 ᏦᎢᏁ ᎢᏳᏟᎶᏛ ᎤᎵᏰᎢᎶᎸ ᏥᏌ ᎠᏍᏓᏯ ᎤᏪᎷᏁᎢ, ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ, ᎢᎶᎢ, ᎢᎶᎢ, ᎳᎹ ᏌᏆᏓᏂ? ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏁᏢᏔᏅᎯ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏍᏗ ᎦᏛᎦ, ᎠᏆᏁᎳᏅᎯ, ᎠᏆᏁᎳᏅᎯ, ᎦᏙᏃ ᎥᏍᏋᏕᎩ?
And at the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying: Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani? which is, when translated, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35 ᎢᎦᏛᏃ ᎾᎥ ᎠᏂᏙᎾᎢ ᎤᎾᏛᎦᏅ, ᎯᎠ ᏄᏂᏪᏎᎢ, ᎬᏂᏳᏉ, ᎢᎳᏯ ᎠᏯᏂᎭ.
And some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said: Behold, he calls for Elijah.
36 ᎠᏎᏴᏫᏃ ᏚᏍᏆᎸᏔᏅ, ᎠᎴ ᏚᏬᎵ ᏧᏂᏦᏯᏍᏗ ᏭᎧᎵᎢᏍᏔᏅ, ᎠᎴ ᎦᎾᏍᏙᎯ ᎤᏪᏆᏔᏅ, ᎤᏁᏁᎸ ᎤᏗᏔᏍᏗ; ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ, ᎤᏁᎳᎩ, ᎢᏓᏙᎴᎰᎯ, ᏥᎪᏃ ᎢᎳᏯ ᏓᎦᎷᏥ ᏓᏳᏠᎥᏔᏂᎵ.
And one ran, and filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying: Wait; let us see if Elijah is coming to take him down.
37 ᏥᏌᏃ ᎠᏍᏓᏯ ᎤᏪᎷᏅ, ᎤᎵᏍᏆᏕᎴᎢ.
But Jesus, having cried with a loud voice, gave up his spirit.
38 ᎠᏰᏙᎳᏛᏗᏃ ᎤᏛᏅ-ᏗᎦᎳᏫᎢᏍᏗᏱ ᎦᏛ ᎤᏓᏣᎦᎸᎮ ᏔᎵ ᏄᏓᏕᎢ, ᎦᎸᎳᏗ ᏅᏓᏳᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎡᎳᏗ ᏩᏍᏗ.
And the vail of the temple was rent in two, from the top to the bottom.
39 ᎠᏍᎪᎯᏧᏈᏃ ᏗᏘᏂᏙᎯ ᎠᎢᏗᏢ ᏧᏳᎪᏗ ᎦᏙᎩ, ᎤᏙᎴᎰᏒ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏪᎷᏅᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᎵᏍᏆᏕᎸᎢ, ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ, ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯ ᎯᎠ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎤᏪᏥ ᎨᏎᎢ.
And when the centurion that was standing opposite him, saw that he thus cried out, and gave up his spirit, he said: Truly, this man was the Son of God.
40 ᎠᏂᎨᏴᏃ ᎾᏍᏉ Ꭸ ᎢᏴᏛ ᏙᏗᏂᎧᏁᎢ; ᎾᎿᎭᏃ ᎠᏁᎴ ᎺᎵ ᏑᎩᏕᎵ ᎡᎯ, ᎠᎴ ᎺᎵ ᏥᎻ ᎤᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᏦᏏ ᎤᏂᏥᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏌᎶᎻ.
And there were, at a distance, women also, looking on; among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome;
41 ᎾᏍᎩ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎨᎵᎵ ᏤᏙᎮ ᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏗᏙᎮ ᎠᎴ ᎬᏩᏍᏕᎸᎯᏙᎮᎢ; ᎠᎴ ᎤᏂᏣᏖ ᏅᏩᎾᏓᎴ ᎠᏂᎨᏴ ᏥᎷᏏᎵᎻ ᏅᏓᎬᏩᏍᏓᏩᏙᎸᎯ.
who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered to him; and many other women, who had come up with him to Jerusalem.
42 ᎿᎭᏉᏃ ᎤᏒ ᏄᎵᏍᏔᏅ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏛᏅᎢᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᎨᏒ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎾᏙᏓᏈᏕᎾ ᎢᎦ ᎨᏒᎢ.
And when the evening had come, because it was the preparation, which is the eve of the sabbath,
43 ᏦᏩ ᎠᎵᎹᏗᏱ ᎡᎯ ᎠᏥᎸᏉᏗ ᏗᎦᎳᏫᎩ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎠᎦᏘᏰ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎨᏒ ᎤᎷᎯᏍᏗᏱ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎷᏤᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᎦᎢᎲᎾ ᏭᏴᎴ ᏆᎴᏗᏱ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏔᏲᎴ ᏥᏌ ᎠᏰᎸᎢ.
Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable counselor, who was himself looking for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
44 ᏆᎴᏗᏃ ᎤᏍᏆᏏᎪᏎ ᎤᏜᏓᏏᏛᎡᎮ ᎾᏞᎬ ᎤᏲᎱᏒᎢ; ᏭᏯᏅᎲᏃ ᎠᏍᎪᎯᏧᏈ ᏗᏘᏂᏙᎯ, ᎤᏛᏛᏁ, ᏰᎵᏍᎪ ᎪᎯᎩ ᎬᏩᏲᎱᏒᎯ, ᎤᏛᏁᎢ.
But Pilate was astonished that he was already dead; and having called the centurion to him, he inquired of him whether he had been any while dead.
45 ᎬᏂᎨᏒᏃ ᏄᏩᏁᎸ ᎠᏍᎪᎯᏧᏈ ᏗᏘᏂᏙᎯ, ᏦᏩ ᏚᏲᎯᏎᎴ ᎠᏰᎸᎢ.
And having learned the fact from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
46 ᎤᏩᏒᏃ ᎤᏏᏙᎵ ᏙᎴᏛ ᎠᏄᏬ, ᎠᎴ ᎤᏕᏒ ᎠᏰᎸᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏄᏬᎩᎯ ᏙᎴᏛ ᎤᏪᏣᏄᎳᏅ, ᎠᏤᎵᏍᏛ ᎤᏅᏁ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏅᏲᎯ ᎠᏍᎪᏒᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᏅᏯ ᎤᏪᏌᏆᎴᎴᎢ ᎠᏤᎵᏍᏛ ᎦᎶᎯᏍᏗᏱ ᎤᏁᎢ.
And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulcher that had been hewed out of a rock: and he rolled a stone to the door of the sepulcher.
47 ᎺᎵᏃ ᎹᎩᏕᎵ ᎡᎯ, ᎠᎴ ᎺᎵ ᏦᏏ ᎤᏥ ᎤᏂᎪᎮ ᎾᎿᎭᎤᏂᏅᏅᎢ.
And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.
