Sofonias 1

1 Ang pulong ni Jehova nga midangat kang Sofonias ang anak nga lalake ni Cushi, ang anak nga lalake ni Gedalias, ang anak nga lalake ni Amarias, ang anak nga lalake ni Ezechias, sa mga adlaw ni Josias ang anak nga lalake ni Ammon, nga hari sa Juda.

The word of the Lord that came to Sophonias the son of Chusi, the son of Godolias, the son of Amarias, the son of Ezechias, in the days of Josias the son of Amon king of Juda.

2 Akong pagaut-uton sa hingpit gayud ang tanang mga butang gikan sa nawong sa yuta, nagaingon si Jehova.

Gathering, I will gather together all things from off the face of the land, saith the Lord:

3 Akong pagaut-uton ang tawo ug ang mananap; akong pagaut-uton ang mga langgam sa kalangitan, ug ang mga isda sa dagat, ug ang mga kapangdolanan sa mga dautan; ug akong pagaputlon ang tawo gikan sa nawong sa yuta, nagaingon si Jehova.

I will gather man, and beast, I will gather the birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea: and the ungodly shall meet with ruin: and I will destroy men from off the face of the land, saith the Lord.

4 Ug akong pagatuy-oron ang akong kamot batok sa Juda, ug batok sa tanang mga pumoluyo sa Jerusalem; ug pagaputlon ko ang kabilin ni Baal gikan niining dapita, ug ang ngalan sa Chemarim uban sa mga sacerdote;

And I will stretch out my hand upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and I will destroy out of this place the remnant of Baal, and the names of the wardens of the temples with the priests:

5 Ingon man pagaputlon ko sila nga nanagsimba sa mga panon sa langit nga anaa sa mga atop sa balay; ug sila nga nanagsimba, nga nanumpa kang Jehova ug nanumpa pinaagi sa ngalan ni Malcam;

And them that worship the host of heaven upon the tops of houses, and them that adore, and swear by the Lord, and swear by Melchom.

6 Ug sila nga mingtalikod sa pagsunod kang Jehova; ug kadtong wala mangita kang Jehova, ni magpangutana mahitungod kaniya.

And them that turn away from following after the Lord, and that have not sought the Lord, nor searched after him.

7 Maghilum ka sa presencia sa Ginoong Jehova; kay ang adlaw ni Jehova ania na; kay si Jehova nag-andam na ug usa ka halad, iyang gigahin ang iyang dinapit.

Be silent before the face of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is near, for the Lord hath prepared a victim, he hath sanctified his guests.

8 Ug mahitabo sa adlaw sa paghalad alang kang Jehova, nga akong pagasilotan ang mga principe, ug ang mga anak nga lalake sa hari, ug ang tanan nga nanagsul-ob sa bisti sa dumuloong.

And it shall come to pass in the day of the victim of the Lord, that I will visit upon the princes, and upon the king’s sons, and upon all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

9 Ug niadtong adlawa akong pagasilotan kadtong tanan nga managlukso sa bakanan sa pultahan, nga nagapuno sa balay sa ilang agalon sa pagpanlupig ug paglimbong.

And I will visit in that day upon every one that entereth arrogantly over the threshold: them that fill the house of the Lord their God with iniquity and deceit.

10 Ug niadtong adlawa, nagaingon si Jehova, adunay tingog sa usa ka singgit gikan sa ganghaan nga pangisdaan, ug dinangoy-ngoy gikan sa ikaduhang puloy-anan, ug ang dakung dinaguok sa pagkahugno gikan sa kabungtoran.

And there shall be in that day, saith the Lord, the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a howling from the Second, and a great destruction from the hills.

11 Managdangoy-ngoy kamo, kamo nga mga pumoluyo sa Mactes; kay ang tanang mga tawo sa Canaan gilaglag; gipamatay ang tanan nga nagadala sa salapi.

Howl, ye inhabitants of the Morter. All the people of Chanaan is hush, all are cut off that were wrapped up in silver.

12 Ug mahitabo niadtong panahona, nga pagasusihon ko ang Jerusalem uban ang mga lamparahan; ug pagasilotan ko ang mga tawo nga minglugdang diha sa ilang linugdang sa vino, nga ming-ingon diha sa ilang kasingkasing: Si Jehova dili magbuhat ug maayo, ni magbuhat siya ug dautan.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and will visit upon the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their hearts: The Lord will not do good, nor will he do evil.

13 Ug ang ilang bahandi mahimong inagaw, ug ang ilang mga balay mangalumpag; oo, sila managtukod ug mga balay, apan dili nila pagapuy-an: ug sila managtanum kaparrasan, apan dili makainum sa vino niana.

And their strength shall become a booty, and their houses as a desert: and they shall build houses, and shall not dwell in them: and they shall plant vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them.

14 Ang dakung adlaw ni Jehova haduol kini nagakahaduol na ug nagadali sa hilabihan gayud, bisan ang tingog sa adlaw ni Jehova; ang makusganong tawo nagasinggit didto sa mapait gayud.

The great day of the Lord is near, it is near and exceeding swift: the voice of the day of the Lord is bitter, the mighty man shall there meet with tribulation.

15 Kanang adlawa mao ang adlaw sa kaligutgut, adlaw sa kasamok ug sa kasakit, adlaw sa kalaglagan ug sa kalumpagan, adlaw sa kangitngit ug sa kadulom, adlaw sa mga panganod ug sa mabagang kangitngitan,

That day is a day of wrath, a day of tribulation and distress, a day of calamity and misery, a day of darkness and obscurity, a day of clouds and whirlwinds,

16 Adlaw sa trompeta ug sa pagpagubok, batok sa mga kinutaang ciudad, ug batok sa hatag-as nga mga salipdanan.

A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high bulwarks.

17 Ug akong pagadad-on ang kasakitan ibabaw sa mga tawo, aron sila managlakaw sama sa mga buta nga tawo, tungod kay sila nakasala batok kang Jehova; ug ang ilang dugo paga-ulaon ingon sa abug, ug ang ilang unod igasalibay ingon sa kinalibang.

And I will distress men, and they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as earth, and their bodies as dung.

18 Ang ilang salapi ug ang ilang bulawan dili makaluwas kanila sa adlaw sa kaligutgut ni Jehova; apan ang tibook nga yuta pagalamyon sa kalayo sa iyang pagpangabugho; kay tibawason niya, oo, tapuson niya sa makalilisang gayud silang tanan nga nanagpuyo sa yuta.

Neither shall their silver and their gold be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: all the land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy, for he shall make even a speedy destruction of all them that dwell in the land.
