1 খ্রীষ্টের সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত থাকার জন্য তোমরা যদি কোনো অনুপ্রেরণা, তাঁর প্রেমে যদি কোনো সান্ত্বনা, যদি আত্মায় কোনো সহভাগিতা, যদি কোনো কোমলতা ও সহমর্মিতা লাভ করে থাকো,
If, therefore, there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort arising from love, if any participation of the Spirit, if any affections and mercies,
2 তাহলে তোমরা এক চিত্ত, এক প্রেম, এক আত্মা এবং একই ভাববিশিষ্ট হয়ে আমার আনন্দকে পূর্ণ করো।
fulfill my joy, that you be of the same mind, having the same love, of one soul, of one mind;
3 স্বার্থযুক্ত উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষা বা ভ্রান্ত দম্ভের বশবর্তী হয়ে কিছু কোরো না, কিন্তু নম্রতা সহকারে অন্যকে নিজেদের চেয়েও শ্রেষ্ঠ বিবেচনা করো।
doing nothing in strife and vain glory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
4 নিজেদেরই বিষয়ে নয়, কিন্তু তোমরা অন্যদের বিষয়েও চিন্তা করো।
Consider not each one his own gifts, but each one also the gifts of others.
5 খ্রীষ্ট যীশুর যে মনোভাব ছিল, তোমাদেরও ঠিক তেমনই হওয়া উচিত:
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 তিনি স্বভাবগতভাবে ঈশ্বর হয়েও ঈশ্বরের সমকক্ষ হওয়ার অবস্থান আঁকড়ে ধরে রাখার কথা ভাবেননি,
who, being in the form of God, did not think it an act of robbery to be equal with God;
7 কিন্তু নিজেকে শূন্য করে দিয়ে, ক্রীতদাসের রূপ ধারণ করলেন, মানব-সদৃশ হয়ে জন্ম নিলেন ও
but he divested himself by taking the form of a servant, and being made in the likeness of men:
8 মানব দেহ ধারণ করে নিজেকে অবনত করলেন; মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত, এমনকি ক্রুশে মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত, অনুগত থাকলেন।
and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient even to death, the death, indeed, of the cross.
9 সেই কারণে, ঈশ্বর তাঁকে সর্বোচ্চ স্থানে উন্নীত করলেন এবং সব নাম থেকে শ্রেষ্ঠ সেই নাম তাঁকে দান করলেন,
For which reason God has highly exalted him, and, also, bestowed on him a name that is above every name;
10 যেন যীশুর নামে স্বর্গ-মর্ত্য-পাতালনিবাসী সকলে নতজানু হয়
that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow of those who are in heaven, and those who are on earth, and those who are under the earth;
11 এবং পিতা ঈশ্বরের মহিমার জন্য প্রত্যেক জিভ স্বীকার করে যে, যীশু খ্রীষ্টই প্রভু।
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 সুতরাং, আমার প্রিয় বন্ধুরা, তোমরা সবসময় যেমন বাধ্য থেকেছ—কেবলমাত্র আমার উপস্থিতিতে নয়, কিন্তু এখন আমার অনুপস্থিতিতে আরও বেশি করে সভয়ে ও কম্পিত হৃদয়ে, কঠোর পরিশ্রমের দ্বারা তোমাদের পরিত্রাণ সম্পন্ন করো।
So, then, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13 কারণ ঈশ্বর তাঁর শুভ-সংকল্পের জন্য তোমাদের অন্তরে ইচ্ছা উৎপন্ন ও কাজ করার জন্য সক্রিয় আছেন।
for it is God, who, of his good pleasure, works in you both the will and the power to perform.
14 তোমরা অভিযোগ ও তর্কবিতর্ক না করে সব কাজ করো,
Do all things without murmurings and disputings,
15 যেন তোমরা এই কুটিল ও অবক্ষয়ের যুগে “ঈশ্বরের নিষ্কলঙ্ক ও শুচিশুদ্ধ সন্তান হতে পারো।” তোমরা তখন তাদের মধ্যে আকাশের তারার মতো এই জগতে উজ্জ্বল হয়ে উঠবে,
that you may be without reproach and Harmless, the children of God, without blame, in the midst of a wicked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world,
16 কারণ তোমরা সেই জীবনের বাক্য ধারণ করে আছ। এর ফলে যেন খ্রীষ্টের দিনে আমি গর্ব করতে পারি যে, আমি বৃথা দৌড়াইনি বা পরিশ্রম করিনি।
holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain, nor labor in vain.
17 যেমন তোমাদের বিশ্বস্ত সেবা ঈশ্বরের কাছে এক নৈবেদ্য, তেমন যদি আমাকে পেয়-নৈবেদ্যের মতো ঢেলে দেওয়া হয় ও তার ফলে আমি জীবন হারাই, তবুও আমি আনন্দ করব। আর আমি চাই যে তোমরাও আমার সেই আনন্দের ভাগীদার হও।
But if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.
18 সুতরাং তোমরাও আনন্দিত হও এবং আমার সঙ্গে আনন্দ করো।
In like manner do you also rejoice, and rejoice with me.
19 আমি প্রভু যীশুতে আশা করি, তিমথিকে অচিরেই তোমাদের কাছে পাঠাতে পারব, তাহলে তোমাদের সংবাদ পেয়ে আমিও আশ্বস্ত হব।
But I trust in the Lord Jesus, to send Timothy shortly to you, that I also may be refreshed by knowing your condition;
20 সে ছাড়া আমার কাছে এমন আর একজনও নেই, যে তোমাদের মঙ্গলের জন্য আন্তরিক আগ্রহ দেখাবে।
for I have no one of a kindred spirit who will sincerely care for your condition:
21 প্রত্যেকেই যীশু খ্রীষ্টের নয়, কিন্তু নিজের স্বার্থই দেখে।
for all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
22 কিন্তু তোমরা জানো, তিমথি নিজেকে যোগ্য বলে প্রমাণ করেছে, কারণ সুসমাচারের কাজে সে বাবার সঙ্গে ছেলের মতো আমার সেবা করেছে।
But you know his approved character, that as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel.
23 তাই আশা করছি, আমার পরিস্থিতি কী হয়, সেকথা জানার সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই তাকে পাঠিয়ে দিতে পারব।
Him, therefore, I hope to send immediately, as soon as I know how it may go with me.
24 আমি প্রভুতে নিশ্চিত যে, আমি নিজেও খুব শীঘ্রই উপস্থিত হব।
But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.
25 কিন্তু আমার মনে হয়, আমার ভাই, সহকর্মী ও সংগ্রামী-সঙ্গী ইপাফ্রদীত, যিনি তোমাদেরও সংবাদবাহক এবং আমার প্রয়োজনের দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের জন্য যাঁকে তোমরা পাঠিয়েছিলে, তাঁকে তোমাদের কাছে ফেরত পাঠানো প্রয়োজন।
Yet I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus my brother and companion in labor and fellow-soldier, but your apostle, who also ministered to my want,
26 কারণ তিনি তোমাদের সকলের জন্যই অত্যন্ত ব্যাকুল এবং তোমরা তাঁর অসুস্থতার সংবাদ শুনেছিলে বলে তিনি উৎকণ্ঠিত।
because he longed after you all, and was much distressed, because you had heard that he was sick.
27 সত্যিই তিনি অসুস্থ হয়ে মরণাপন্ন হয়েছিলেন, কিন্তু ঈশ্বর তাঁর উপর করুণা করেছেন; শুধু তাঁর উপর নয়, আমার উপরেও করুণা করেছেন, যেন দুঃখের উপর আমার আর দুঃখ না হয়।
And, indeed, he was sick near to death; but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.
28 সেইজন্য, আমি আরও আগ্রহ সহকারে তাঁকে পাঠাচ্ছি, যেন আবার তাঁর দেখা পেয়ে তোমরা আনন্দ করতে পারো এবং আমারও দুঃখ হালকা হয়।
I sent him, therefore, the sooner, that, by seeing him again, you might rejoice, and that I might be the less sorrowful.
29 প্রভুতে অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সঙ্গে তাঁকে স্বাগত জানিয়ো এবং তাঁর মতো লোকদের সমাদর কোরো।
Receive him, therefore, in the Lord with all joy, and regard such as worthy of honor;
30 কারণ খ্রীষ্টের কাজের জন্য তিনি মরণাপন্ন হয়েছিলেন, যে সাহায্য দূর থেকে তোমরা আমাকে দিতে অপারগ ছিলে, তার জন্য তিনি তাঁর জীবন বিপন্ন করেছিলেন।
because for the work of the Christ he was near to death, not regarding his life, that he might supply that which was lacking in your service to me.
