মার্ক 15
1 খুব ভোরবেলায়, প্রধান যাজকেরা, লোকদের প্রাচীনবর্গ ও শাস্ত্রবিদরা সমস্ত মহাসভার সঙ্গে এক সিদ্ধান্তে উপনীত হল। তারা যীশুকে বেঁধে পীলাতের কাছে নিয়ে গেল ও তাঁর হাতে তাঁকে সমর্পণ করল।
As soon as it was daylight, the chief priests, after holding a consultation with elders and teachers of the Law – that is to say, the whole High Council – put Jesus in chains, and took him away, and gave him up to Pilate.
2 পীলাত জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তুমিই কি ইহুদিদের রাজা?” যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, “হ্যাঁ, ঠিক তাই, যেমন তুমি বললে।”
‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ asked Pilate. ‘It is true,’ replied Jesus.
3 প্রধান যাজকেরা তাঁকে অনেক বিষয়ে অভিযুক্ত করল।
Then the chief priests brought a number of charges against him.
4 তাই পীলাত আবার তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তুমি কি উত্তর দেবে না? দেখো, ওরা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে কত অভিযোগ করছে।”
So Pilate questioned Jesus again. ‘Have you no reply to make?’ he asked. ‘Listen, how many charges they are bringing against you.’
5 যীশু তবুও কোনো উত্তর দিলেন না দেখে পীলাত বিস্মিত হলেন।
But Jesus still made no reply whatever; at which Pilate was astonished.
6 লোকেদের পর্বের সময় সকলের অনুরোধে এক বন্দিকে মুক্তি দেওয়ার প্রথা প্রচলিত ছিল।
Now, at the feast, Pilate used to grant the people the release of any one prisoner whom they might ask for.
7 তখন বারাব্বা নামে এক ব্যক্তি অন্য কয়েকজন বিদ্রোহীর সঙ্গে কারারুদ্ধ ছিল। তারা প্রশাসনের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করার সময় নরহত্যাও করেছিল।
A man called Barabbas was in prison, with the rioters who had committed murder during a riot.
8 লোকেরা সামনে এসে পীলাতকে অনুরোধ করল, তিনি সাধারণত যা করে থাকেন, তাদের জন্য যেন তাই করেন।
So, when the crowd went up and began to ask Pilate to follow his usual custom,
9 পীলাত জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তোমরা কি চাও যে, ‘ইহুদিদের রাজাকে’ আমি তোমাদের জন্য মুক্ত করে দিই?”
he answered, ‘Do you want me to release the “king of the Jews” for you?’
10 কারণ তিনি জানতেন, প্রধান যাজকেরা ঈর্ষাবশত যীশুকে তাঁর হাতে তুলে দিয়েছিল।
For he was aware that it was out of jealousy that the chief priests had given Jesus up to him.
11 কিন্তু প্রধান যাজকেরা সকলকে উত্তেজিত করে পীলাতকে বলতে বলল যে তারা যেন বারাব্বার মুক্তি চায়।
But the chief priests incited the crowd to get Barabbas released instead.
12 পীলাত তাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তাহলে, তোমরা যাকে ইহুদিদের রাজা বলো, তাকে নিয়ে আমি কী করব?”
Pilate, however, spoke to them again, ‘What should I do then with the man whom you call the “king of the Jews”?’
13 তারা চিৎকার করে বলল, “ওকে ক্রুশে দিন!”
Again they shouted, ‘Crucify him!’
14 পীলাত জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “কেন, ও কী অপরাধ করেছে?” কিন্তু তারা আরও জোরে চিৎকার করে বলতে লাগল, “ওকে ক্রুশে দিন!”
‘Why, what harm has he done?’ Pilate kept saying to them. But they shouted furiously, ‘Crucify him!’
15 লোকসকলকে সন্তুষ্ট করার জন্য পীলাত তাদের কাছে বারাব্বাকে মুক্ত করে দিলেন। তিনি যীশুকে চাবুক দিয়ে প্রহার করিয়ে ক্রুশার্পিত করার জন্য সমর্পণ করলেন।
And Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and, after scourging Jesus, gave him up to be crucified.
16 সৈন্যরা যীশুকে প্রাঙ্গণে, অর্থাৎ শাসক-ভবনের ভিতরে নিয়ে গেল। তারা সৈন্যবাহিনীর সবাইকে ডেকে একত্র করল।
The soldiers then took Jesus away into the courtyard – that is the Government house – and they called the whole garrison together.
17 তারা তাঁর গায়ে বেগুনি রংয়ের এক পোশাক পরিয়ে দিল। তারপর পাক দিয়ে একটি কাঁটার মুকুট গেঁথে তাঁর মাথায় পরিয়ে দিল।
They dressed him in a purple robe, and, having twisted a crown of thorns, put it on him,
18 তারা তাঁকে অভিবাদন করে বলতে লাগল, “ইহুদি-রাজ, নমস্কার!”
and then began to salute him. ‘Long life to you, king of the Jews!’ they said.
19 একটি নলখাগড়া দিয়ে বারবার তারা তাঁর মাথায় আঘাত করল ও তাঁর গায়ে থুতু দিল। তারপর তারা নতজানু হয়ে তাঁকে প্রণাম করল।
And they kept striking him on the head with a rod, spitting at him, and bowing to the ground before him – going down on their knees;
20 তাঁকে নিয়ে বিদ্রুপের পর্ব এভাবে শেষ হলে, তারা বেগুনি রংয়ের পোশাকটি খুলে নিল ও তাঁর নিজের পোশাক তাঁকে পরিয়ে দিল। তারপর তারা তাঁকে ক্রুশার্পিত করার জন্য নিয়ে গেল।
and, when they had left off mocking him, they took off the purple robe, and put his own clothes on him.
21 কুরীণ থেকে আগত শিমোন নামে জনৈক ব্যক্তি গ্রামাঞ্চল থেকে সেই পথে আসছিল। সে আলেকজান্ডার ও রূফের পিতা। তারা ক্রুশ বয়ে নিয়ে যেতে তাকে বাধ্য করল।
They led Jesus out to crucify him; and they compelled a passer-by, Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them to carry his cross.
22 তারা যীশুকে গলগথা নামে একটি স্থানে নিয়ে এল (নামটির অর্থ, “মাথার খুলির স্থান”)।
They brought Jesus to the place which was known as Golgotha – a name which means “place of a Skull.”
23 সেখানে তারা যীশুকে গন্ধরস মেশানো দ্রাক্ষারস পান করতে দিল, কিন্তু তিনি তা গ্রহণ করলেন না।
There they offered him drugged wine; but Jesus refused it.
24 এরপর তারা তাঁকে ক্রুশে দিল। তাঁর পোশাকগুলি ভাগ করে নিয়ে কে কোন অংশ নেবে, তার জন্য তারা গুটিকাপাত করল।
Then they crucified him, and divided his clothes among them, casting lots for them, to settle what each should take.
25 সকাল নয়টার সময় তারা তাঁকে ক্রুশে দিল।
It was nine in the morning when they crucified him.
26 তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে এই অভিযোগপত্র টাঙিয়ে দেওয়া হল: ইহুদিদের রাজা।
The words of the charge against him, written up over his head, read – “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
27 তারা তাঁর সঙ্গে আরও দুজন দস্যুকে ক্রুশার্পিত করল, একজনকে তাঁর ডানদিকে, অন্যজনকে তাঁর বাঁদিকে।
And with him they crucified two robbers, one on the right, and the other on the left.
28 তখন এই শাস্ত্রীয় বাণী পূর্ণ হল, “তিনি অধর্মীদের সঙ্গে গণিত হলেন।”
29 যারা সেই পথ দিয়ে যাতায়াত করছিল, তারা মাথা নাড়তে নাড়তে তাঁকে অপমান করে বলতে লাগল, “তাহলে তুমিই সেই লোক, যে মন্দির ধ্বংস করে তিনদিনে তা পুনর্নির্মাণ করতে পারো!
The passers-by railed at him, shaking their heads, as they said, ‘Ah! You who would destroy the Temple and build one in three days,
30 এখন ক্রুশ থেকে নেমে এসো ও নিজেকে রক্ষা করো।”
come down from the cross and save yourself!’
31 একইভাবে প্রধান যাজকেরা ও শাস্ত্রবিদরাও তাঁকে বিদ্রুপ করে নিজেদের মধ্যে বলাবলি করতে লাগল; তারা বলল, “ও অন্যদের বাঁচাত, কিন্তু নিজেকে বাঁচাতে পারে না।
In the same way the chief priests, with the teachers of the Law, said to one another in mockery,
32 এখন এই খ্রীষ্ট, ইস্রায়েলের রাজা, ক্রুশ থেকে নেমে আসুক, যেন আমরাও তা দেখে বিশ্বাস করতে পারি।” যারা তাঁর সঙ্গে ক্রুশবিদ্ধ হয়েছিল, তারাও তাঁকে অনেক অপমান করল।
‘He saved others, but he cannot save himself! Let the Christ, the “king of Israel,” come down from the cross now so that we can see it and believe.’ Even the men who had been crucified with Jesus insulted him.
33 বেলা বারোটা থেকে তিনটে পর্যন্ত সমস্ত দেশে অন্ধকার ছেয়ে গেল।
At midday, a darkness came over the whole country, lasting until three in the afternoon.
34 আর বেলা তিনটের সময়, যীশু উচ্চকণ্ঠে বলে উঠলেন, “এলী, এলী, লামা শবক্তানী?” যার অর্থ, “ঈশ্বর আমার, ঈশ্বর আমার, কেন তুমি আমাকে পরিত্যাগ করেছ?”
And, at three, Jesus called out loudly, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lama sabacthani?’ which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
35 সেখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিল এমন কয়েকজন যখন একথা শুনল, তারা বলল, “শোনো, ও এলিয়কে ডাকছে।”
Some of those standing round heard this, and said, ‘Listen! He is calling for Elijah!’
36 আর একজন লোক দৌড়ে গিয়ে একটি স্পঞ্জ সিরকায় পূর্ণ করে, একটি নলখাগড়ার সাহায্যে যীশুকে পান করতে দিল। সে বলল, “ওকে ছেড়ে দাও, এসো দেখি, এলিয় ওকে নামাতে আসেন কি না।”
And a man ran, and, soaking a sponge in common wine, put it on the end of a rod, and offered it to him to drink, saying as he did so, ‘Wait and let us see if Elijah is coming to take him down.’
37 এরপর যীশু উচ্চকণ্ঠে চিৎকার করে তাঁর শেষনিশ্বাস ত্যাগ করলেন।
But Jesus, giving a loud cry, breathed his last.
38 মন্দিরের পর্দাটি উপর থেকে নিচ পর্যন্ত চিরে দু-টুকরো হল।
The Temple curtain was torn in two from top to bottom.
39 আর যে শত-সেনাপতি সেখানে যীশুর সামনেই দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন, তাঁর চিৎকার শুনে এবং তিনি কীভাবে মৃত্যুবরণ করলেন, তা দেখে বলে উঠলেন, “নিশ্চিতরূপেই ইনি ঈশ্বরের পুত্র ছিলেন।”
The Roman officer, who was standing facing Jesus, on seeing the way in which he breathed his last, exclaimed, ‘This man must indeed have been God’s son!’
40 কয়েকজন নারী দূর থেকে সব লক্ষ্য করছিলেন। তাঁদের মধ্যে ছিলেন মাগ্দালাবাসী মরিয়ম, কনিষ্ঠ যাকোব ও যোষির মা মরিয়ম ও শালোমি।
There were some women also watching from a distance, among them being Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James the Little and of Joseph, and Salome –
41 গালীলে এসব নারী তাঁকে অনুসরণ করে তাঁর পরিচর্যা করতেন। আরও অনেক নারী, যারা তাঁর সঙ্গে জেরুশালেমে এসেছিলেন, তাঁরাও সেখানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
all of whom used to accompany Jesus when he was in Galilee, and give him support – besides many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem.
42 সেদিন ছিল প্রস্তুতির দিন (অর্থাৎ, বিশ্রামদিনের আগের দিন)। সন্ধ্যা ঘনিয়ে এলে,
The evening had already fallen, when, as it was the Preparation day – the day before the Sabbath –
43 আরিমাথিয়ার যোষেফ, যিনি বিচার-পরিষদের একজন বিশিষ্ট সদস্য ছিলেন, তিনি সাহসের সঙ্গে পীলাতের কাছে গিয়ে যীশুর দেহটি চাইলেন। ইনি নিজেও ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের প্রতীক্ষায় ছিলেন।
Joseph from Arimathea, a councillor of good position, who was himself living in expectation of the kingdom of God, came and ventured to go in to see Pilate, and to ask for the body of Jesus.
44 যীশু ইতিমধ্যে মারা গিয়েছেন শুনে পীলাত বিস্মিত হলেন। শত-সেনাপতিকে তলব করে তিনি তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, সত্যিই এর মধ্যে যীশুর মৃত্যু হয়েছে কি না।
But Pilate was surprised to hear that he had already died. So he sent for the officer, and asked if he were already dead;
45 শত-সেনাপতির কাছে সেকথার সত্যতা জেনে তিনি যীশুর দেহটি যোষেফের হাতে তুলে দিলেন।
and, on learning from the officer that it was so, he gave the corpse to Joseph.
46 তাই যোষেফ কিছু লিনেন কাপড় কিনে আনলেন, দেহটি নামিয়ে লিনেন কাপড়ে আবৃত করলেন। তারপরে বড়ো পাথরে খোদিত এক সমাধিতে তা রাখলেন। পরে তিনি সমাধির প্রবেশপথে বড়ো একটি পাথর গড়িয়ে দিলেন।
Joseph, having bought a linen sheet, took Jesus down, and wound the sheet round him, and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of the rock; and then rolled a stone up against the entrance of the tomb.
47 কোথায় তাঁকে রাখা হল, তা মগ্দলিনী মরিয়ম ও যোষির মা মরিয়ম দেখতে পেলেন।
Mary of Magdala and Mary, the mother of Joseph, were watching to see where he was laid.
