1 যিহূদার বংশধরেরা: পেরস, হিষ্রোণ, কর্মি, হূর ও শোবল।

Judah's descendants were Perez, Hezron, Karmi, Hur, and Shobal.

2 শোবলের ছেলে রায়া যহৎ-এর বাবা, এবং যহৎ অহূময় ও লহদের বাবা। এরাই সরাথীয় বংশ।

Shobal was the father of Reaiah. Reaiah was the father of Jahath. Jahath was the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These were of the clans of the Zorathites.

3 এরা ঐটমের ছেলে: যিষ্রিয়েল, যিশ্মা ও যিদবশ। তাদের বোনের নাম হৎসলিল-পোনী।

These were the ancestors of the clans in the city of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. Their sister's name was Hazzelelponi.

4 গদোরের বাবা পনূয়েল, এবং হূশের বাবা এষর। এরাই ইফ্রাথার বড়ো ছেলে ও বেথলেহেমের বাবা হূরের বংশধর।

Peniel was the ancestor of the clans in the city of Gedor. Ezer was the originator of the clans in Hushah. These were descendants of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah and the originator of Bethlehem.

5 তকোয়ের বাবা অস্‌হূরের দুই স্ত্রী ছিল, যাদের নাম হিলা ও নারা।

Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6 নারা তাঁর ঔরসে অহুষম, হেফর, তৈমনি ও অহষ্টরিকে জন্ম দিলেন। এরাই নারার বংশধর।

Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were Naarah's sons.

7 হিলার ছেলেরা: সেরৎ, যিৎসোহর, ইৎনন,

Helah's sons were Zereth, Zohar, Ethnan,

8 ও কোষ, যিনি আনূব ও সোবেবার এবং হারুমের ছেলে অহর্হল বংশের পূর্বপুরুষ ছিলেন।

and Koz, who became the father of Anub and Hazzobebah, and of the clans descended from Aharhel son of Harum.

9 যাবেষ তাঁর ভাইদের চেয়ে বেশি সম্মানিত ছিলেন। এই বলে তাঁর মা তাঁর নাম রেখেছিলেন যাবেষ, যে, “ব্যথাবেদনার মধ্যে দিয়ে আমি তাকে জন্ম দিয়েছি।”

Jabez was more respected than his brothers. His mother called him Jabez. She said, “Because I bore him in pain.”

10 যাবেষ ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশে চিৎকার করে বললেন, “ওহো, তুমি যদি আমায় আশীর্বাদ করতে ও আমার এলাকা বিস্তার করতে! তোমার হাত আমার সঙ্গে থাকুক, ও আমাকে অনিষ্ট থেকে রক্ষা করুক, যেন আমি ব্যথাবেদনা থেকে মুক্ত থাকতে পারি।” আর ঈশ্বর তাঁর অনুরোধ মঞ্জুর করলেন।

Jabez called out to the God of Israel and said, “If only you would truly bless me, expand my territory, and your hand will be with me. When you do this you will keep me from harm, so that I may be free from pain!” So God granted him his prayer.

11 শূহের ভাই কলূব সেই মহীরের বাবা, যিনি ইষ্টোনের বাবা।

Kelub brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 ইষ্টোন বেথ-রাফা, পাসেহ ও সেই তহিন্নের বাবা, যিনি ঈরনাহসের বাবা। এরাই রেকার লোকজন।

Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of Ir Nahash. These were men who lived in Rekah.

13 কনসের ছেলেরা: অৎনীয়েল ও সরায়। অৎনীয়েলের ছেলেরা: হথৎ ও মিয়োনোথয়।

Kenaz's sons were Othniel and Seraiah. Othniel's sons were Hathath and Meonothai.

14 মিয়োনোথয় অফ্রার বাবা। সরায় সেই যোয়াবের বাবা, যিনি গী-হরসীমের বাবা। যেহেতু সেখানকার লোকজন সুদক্ষ কর্মী ছিল, তাই সেই স্থানটিকে এই নামেই ডাকা হত।

Meonothai became the father of Ophrah, and Seraiah became the father of Joab, the originator of Ge-Harashim, whose people were craftsmen.

15 যিফূন্নির ছেলে কালেবের ছেলেরা: ঈরূ, এলা ও নয়ম। এলার ছেলে: কনস।

The sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah and Naam. Elah's son was Kenaz.

16 যিহলিলেলের ছেলেরা: সীফ, সীফা, তীরিয় ও অসারেল।

Jehallelel's sons were Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17 ইষ্রার ছেলেরা: যেথর, মেরদ, এফর ও যালোন। মেরদের স্ত্রীদের মধ্যে একজন মরিয়ম, শম্ময় ও সেই যিশবহকে জন্ম দিলেন, যিনি ইষ্টিমোয়ের বাবা।

Ezrah's sons were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. Mered's Egyptian wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah, who became the father of Eshtemoa.

18 তাঁর যিহূদাবংশীয়া স্ত্রী গদোরের বাবা যেরদকে, সোখোর বাবা হেবরকে, এবং সানোহের বাবা যিকুথিয়েলকে জন্ম দিলেন এরা সবাই ফরৌণের মেয়ে সেই বিথিয়ার সন্তান, যাঁকে মেরদ বিয়ে করলেন।

These were the sons of Bithiah, daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married. Mered's Judahite wife bore Jered, who became the father of Gedor; Heber, who became the father of Soko; and Jekuthiel, who became the father of Zanoah.

19 হোদিয়ের স্ত্রী তথা নহমের বোনের ছেলেরা: গর্মীয় কিয়ীলার বাবা, ও মাখাতীয় ইষ্টিমোয়।

Of the two sons of Hodiah's wife, sister of Naham, one became the father of Keilah the Garmite. The other was Eshtemoa the Maakathite.

20 শীমোনের ছেলেরা: অম্নোন, রিন্ন, বিন-হানন ও তীলোন। যিশীর বংশধরেরা: সোহেৎ ও বিন-সোহেৎ।

The sons of Shimon were Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi were Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

21 যিহূদার ছেলে শেলার ছেলেরা: লেকার বাবা এর, মারেশার বাবা লাদা এবং বৈৎ-অসবেয়ের যেসব কারিগর মসিনার কাপড় বুনতো, তাদের বংশধররা,

The descendants of Shelah son of Judah, were Er father of Lekah, Laadah father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen workers at Beth Ashbea,

22 যোকীম, কোষেবার লোকজন, এবং সেই যোয়াশ ও সারফ, যারা মোয়াবে রাজত্ব করতেন এবং যাশূবি-লেহম। (এই নথিগুলি প্রাচীনকালে সংগৃহীত)

Jokim, the men of Kozeba, and Joash and Saraph, who ruled in Moab and Jashubi Lehem. (This information is from ancient records.)

23 তারা সেইসব কুমোর, যারা নতায়ীম ও গদেরায় বসবাস করত; তারা সেখানে থাকত ও রাজার জন্য কাজ করত।

These were the potters who lived in Netaim and Gederah and worked for the king.

24 শিমিয়োনের বংশধরেরা: নমূয়েল, যামীন, যারীব, সেরহ ও শৌল;

Simeon's descendants were Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul.

25 শৌলের ছেলে শল্লুম, তাঁর ছেলে মিব্‌সম ও তাঁর ছেলে মিশ্‌ম।

Shallum was Shaul's son, Mibsam was Shallum's son, and Mishma was Mibsam's son.

26 মিশ্‌মের বংশধরেরা: তাঁর ছেলে হম্মুয়েল, তাঁর ছেলে শক্কুর ও তাঁর ছেলে শিময়ি।

Mishma's descendants were Hammuel his son, Zakkur his grandson, and Shimei his great-grandson.

27 শিময়ির ষোল ছেলে ও ছয় মেয়ে ছিল, কিন্তু তাঁর ভাইদের খুব বেশি সন্তান ছিল না; তাই তাদের গোটা বংশ যিহূদা বংশের মতো বহুসংখ্যক হতে পারেনি।

Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. His brothers did not have many children, so their clans did not increase greatly in numbers as the people of Judah did.

28 তারা বের-শেবা, মোলাদা, হৎসর-শূয়াল,

They lived at Beersheba, Moladah, and at Hazar Shual.

29 বিলহা, এৎসম, তোলদ,

They also live at Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad,

30 বথূয়েল, হর্মা, সিক্লগ,

Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,

31 বেথ-মর্কাবোৎ, শৎসর-সূষীম, বেথ-বিরী ও শারয়িমে বসবাস করতেন। দাউদের রাজত্ব পর্যন্ত এগুলিই তাদের নগর ছিল।

Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

32 তাদের চারপাশের গ্রামগুলি হল ঐটম, ওন, রিম্মোণ, তোখেন ও আশন—পাঁচটি নগর—

Their five villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Token, and Ashan,

33 এবং বালাত পর্যন্ত এই নগরগুলি ঘিরে থাকা সব গ্রাম। এগুলিই ছিল তাদের উপনিবেশ। আর তারা এক বংশতালিকা রেখেছিলেন।

together with the outlying villages as far as Baalath. These were their settlements, and they kept the genealogical records.

34 মশোবব, যম্লেক, অমৎসিয়ের ছেলে যোশঃ,

Clan leaders were Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah,

35 তার ছেলে যোয়েল, তার ছেলে অসীয়েল, তার ছেলে সরায়, তার ছেলে যোশিবিয়, তার ছেলে যেহূ,

Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah son of Seraiah son of Asiel,

36 এছাড়াও ইলীয়ৈনয়, যাকোবা, যিশোহায়, অসায়, অদীয়েল, যিশীমীয়েল, বনায়,

Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

37 ও শমিয়িয়ের ছেলে সিম্রি, তার ছেলে যিদয়িয়, তার ছেলে অলোন, তার ছেলে শিফি, তার ছেলে সীষঃ।

and Ziza son of Shiphi son of Allon son of Jedaiah son of Shimri son of Shemaiah.

38 যাদের নাম উপরে নথিভুক্ত করা হয়েছে তারা তাদের বংশের নেতা ছিলেন। তাদের পরিবারগুলি প্রচুর সংখ্যায় বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছিল,

These mentioned by name were leaders in their clans, and their clans increased greatly.

39 এবং তাদের পশুপালের জন্য চারণভূমির সন্ধান করতে করতে তারা উপত্যকার পূর্বদিকে গদোরের প্রান্তদেশ পর্যন্ত চলে গেলেন।

They went near Gedor, on the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 তারা উর্বর, উপযুক্ত চারণভূমির সন্ধান পেয়েছিলেন, এবং সেই দেশটি ছিল সুপরিসর, শান্তিপূর্ণ ও নির্জন। আগে সেখানে হাম বংশীয় কিছু লোকজন বসবাস করত।

They found abundant and good pasture. The land was broad, quiet, and peaceable. The Hamites had formerly lived there.

41 যাদের নাম নথিভুক্ত হল, তারা যিহূদার রাজা হিষ্কিয়ের সময়ে এলেন। তারা হাম বংশীয় লোকদের বাসস্থান ও সেখানে থাকা মিয়ূনীয়দেরও আক্রমণ করলেন এবং তাদের পুরোপুরি ধ্বংস করে দিলেন, আজও পর্যন্ত যা স্পষ্ট হয়ে আছে। পরে তারা তাদের স্থানে বসতি স্থাপন করলেন, যেহেতু সেখানে তাদের পশুপালের জন্য চারণভূমি ছিল।

These just listed by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and attacked the Hamite settlements and the Meunites, who were there also. They destroyed them completely and lived there because they found pasture for their flocks.

42 এবং এই শিমিয়োনীয়দের মধ্যে 500 জন সেয়ীরের পার্বত্য এলাকা দখল করল, যাদের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন যিশীর ছেলে পলটিয়, নিয়রিয়, রফায়িয় ও উষীয়েল।

From them, from the sons of Simeon, five hundred men went to Mount Seir with Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, as their leader.

43 যারা পালিয়ে গেল, তারা অবশিষ্ট সেই অমালেকীয়দের হত্যা করলেন, এবং আজও পর্যন্ত তারা সেখানেই বসবাস করছেন।

They defeated the rest of the Amalekite refugees, and have lived there to this day.
