ইষ্টের বিবরণ 10

1 ১ রাজা অহশ্বেরশ তাঁর গোটা রাজ্যে ও সমুদ্রের দ্বীপগুলিতে কর বসালেন।

And the king levied [a tax] upon [his] kingdom both by land and sea.

2 ২ তাঁর ক্ষমতা ও শক্তির সব কথা এবং মর্দখয়কে রাজা যেভাবে উঁচু পদ দিয়ে মহান করেছিলেন তার সম্পূর্ণ বিবরণ কি মাদিয়া ও পারস্যের রাজাদের ইতিহাস বইতে লেখা নেই?

And [as for] his strength and valour, and the wealth and glory of his kingdom, behold, they are written in the book of the Persians and Medes, for a memorial.

3 ৩ ফলে এই যিহূদী মর্দখয় অহশ্বেরশ রাজার পরে দ্বিতীয় এবং ইহুদীদের মধ্যে মহান, নিজের ভাইদের মধ্যে প্রিয়পাত্র ও নিজের জাতির লোকদের মঙ্গলকারী এবং নিজের সমস্ত বংশের সঙ্গে শান্তিবাদী ছিলেন।

And Mardochaeus was viceroy to king Artaxerxes, and was a great man in the kingdom, and honoured by the Jews, and passed his life beloved of all his nation.
