1 Hina bagade Segesisi ea da hano wayabo bagade bega: fi, amola ea soge huluane ganodini dunu, ilima ha: giwane udigili hawa: hamoma: ne gasa fili sesesu.
King Xerxes required that all the people in his empire pay taxes. Even the people who lived on the islands [in the Mediterranean Sea] (OR, in coastal areas) were required to pay taxes.
2 Hina bagade Segesisi ea da gasa bagade hawa: hamosu, amola e da Modigai amo da ouligisu bagade hawa: hamosu hamoma: ne asunasi dagoi. Amo hou huluane da ‘Besia hina bagade amola Midia hina bagade ilia hawa: hamonanu’ meloa dedei, amo ganodini dedene legei diala.
And all the great and powerful things that Xerxes did were written in the scroll called/entitled ‘The record of the things done by the kings of Media and Persia’. In this book were also written [the things done] by Mordecai, the man whom the king had greatly honored.
3 Yu dunu Modigai da Hina bagade Segesisi ea bagia aligili fawane hawa: hamosu. Modigai ea fi (Yu dunu) da ea hou hahawane ba: su amola ema nodosu. Yu dunu da hahawane ba: ma: ne, amola iligaga fa: no fifi misunu amo da gaga: iwane amola mae beda: iwane esaloma: ne, e da noga: le hawa: hamosu. Sia: ama dagoi
Mordecai, who was a Jew, became the king’s most important official, and [all] the Jews also considered him to be a very great man. They [all] respected him, because he did many good things for the Jews, and he often asked [the king] to do good things for them.
