1 Cer erranen dugu beraz? egonen gara bekatutan, gratiá abunda dadinçát?
What then shall we say? are we still to continue in sin that favour may abound?
2 Guertha eztadila. Ecen bekatuari hil içan gaizquionac, nola hartan oraino vicico gara?
Far be it! we who have died unto sin, how, any longer, shall we live therein?
3 Ala eztaquiçue ecen Iesus Christ Iaunean batheyatu içan garen gucioc, haren herioan batheyatu içan garela?
Or know ye not that, we, as many as were immersed into Christ [Jesus], into his death were immersed?
4 Ohortze içan gara bada harequin batean Baptismoaz haren herioan: nola resuscitatu içan baita Christ hiletaric Aitaren gloriaz, hala gu-ere vicitze berritan ebil gaitecençát.
We were, therefore, buried together with him through our immersion into his death, in order that—just as Christ was raised from among the dead through the glory of the Father, so, we also, in newness of life should walk.
5 Ecen baldin harequin chartatuac bagara haren hiltzearen conformitatez, haren resurrectionearen conformitatez- ere içanen gara.
For, if we have come to be grown together in the likeness of his death, certainly, in that of his resurrection also, shall we be.
6 Haur daquigularic ecen gure guiçon çaharra harequin crucificatu içan dela, deseguin dadinçát bekatuaren gorputza, guehiagoric bekatua cerbitza ezteçagunçát.
Of this taking note—that, our old man, was crucified together with him in order that the sinful body might be made powerless, that we should, no longer, be in servitude to sin;
7 Ecen hil dena libre da bekatutaric.
For, he that hath died, hath become righteously acquitted from his sin.
8 Eta baldin hil bagara Christequin, sinhesten dugu vicico-ere harequin garela:
Now, if we have died together with Christ, we believe that we shall also live together with him;
9 Daquigularic ecen Christ hiletaric resuscitaturic, eztela guehiagoric hiltzen, herioac eztuela haren gainean guehiago dominationeric.
Knowing that, Christ having been raised from among the dead, no more dieth, —death, over him, no more, hath lordship, —
10 Ecen hil içan dena, bekatuari hil içan çayó behingotz: baina vici dena, Iaincoari vici çayó.
For, in that he died, unto sin, died he once for all, but, in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Hala çuec-ere estima eçaçue bekatuari hil çaizquiotela, baina Iaincoari vici çaizquiotela Iesus Christ gure Iaunaz.
So, ye also, be reckoning yourselves to be—dead indeed unto sin, but, alive unto God in Christ Jesus.
12 Ezteçala bada regna bekatuac çuen gorputz mortalean, haren guthicietan bekatua obedi deçaçuençát.
Let not sin, therefore, reign in your death-doomed body, that ye should be obedient to its covetings;
13 Eta eztietzoçuela applica çuen membroac iniquitatezco harma içateco bekatuari: baina applica ietzoçue çuen buruäc Iaincoari, hiletaric viztu anço: eta çuen membroac iustitiataco harma içateco Iaincoari.
Neither be presenting your members as weapons of unrighteousness unto sin, but present yourselves unto God as though alive from among the dead, and your members as weapons of righteousness unto God;
14 Ecen bekatuac eztu çuen gainean dominationeric vkanen: ecen etzarete Leguearen azpian, baina gratiaren azpian.
For, sin, over you, shall not have lordship, for ye are not under law, but under favour.
15 Cer bada? eguinen dugu bekatu, ceren Leguearen azpian ezgarén, baina gratiaren azpian? Guertha eztadila.
What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law but under favour? Far be it!
16 Ala eztaquiçue ecen noren-ere obeditzera cerbitzari iarten baitzarete, obeditzen duçuenaren cerbitzari çaretela: edo bekatuaren heriotara, edo obedientiaren iustitiatara?
Know ye not that, unto whom ye are presenting yourselves as servants for obedience, servants ye are unto [him unto] whom ye are obedient, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 Bada esquer Iaincoari ceren bekatuaren cerbitzari içan baitzarete, baina bihotzetic obeditu baituçue doctrinaren formá, ceinetara eman içan baitzarete:
But thanks be unto God, that—whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient out of the heart unto the mould of teaching into which ye were delivered;
18 Eta bekatuaren azpitic ilkiric, iustitiaren cerbitzari eguin içan baitzarete.
And, being freed from sin, ye were made servants unto righteousness; —
19 Guiçonén ançora minço naiz çuen haraguiaren infirmitatearen causaz. Bada nola applicatu baitituçue çuen membroac cerbitzatzeco satsutassunari eta iniquitateari iniquitate eguitera: hala orain applicaitzaçue çuen membroac cerbitzatzeco iustitiari saindutassunetara
In human fashion am I speaking, because of the weakness of your flesh; —for, just as ye presented your members as servants unto impurity and unto lawlessness [for lawlessness], so now, present ye your members as servants unto righteousness for sanctification.
20 Ecen bekatuaren cerbitzari cinetenean: libré cineten iustitiaz den becembatean.
For, when ye were servants of sin, ye were free as to righteousness; —
21 Cer fructu cenduten bada orduan orain ahalque çareten gauça hetaric? ecen hayén fina, herioa da.
What fruit, therefore, had ye then—in things for which ye now are taking shame to yourselves? For, the end of those things, is death.
22 Baina orain bekatuaren azpitic libreturic, eta Iaincoaren cerbitzari eguinic, baduçue çuen fructua saindutassunetan: eta fina, vicitze eternala. (aiōnios g166)
Whereas, now, having been freed from sin, and made servants unto God, ye have your fruit for sanctification and, the end, life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
23 Ecen bekatuaren gageac, herioa: eta Iaincoaren dohaina da vicitze eternala Iesus Christ gure Iaunaz. (aiōnios g166)
For, the wages of sin, is death; but, God’s gift of favour, is life age-abiding, in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios g166)
