1 Ceric da bada Iuduaren abantailla, edo ceric da circoncisionearen probetchua?
Then what advantage does the Jew have? And what is the benefit of circumcision?
2 Handia manera orotara: eta gucién gainetic ceren Iaincoaren declarationeac cargutan eman baitzaizte.
It is great in every way. First of all, the Jews were entrusted with revelation from God.
3 Ecen cer da baldin batzuc sinhetsi ezpadute? ala hayén incredulitateac Iaincoaren fedea ezdeusturen du?
For what if some Jews were without faith? Will their unbelief abolish God's faithfulness?
4 Guertha eztadila: aitzitic biz Iaincoa eguiati, eta guiçon gucia gueçurti, scribatua den beçala, Eure hitzetan iusto eriden adinçát, eta hiçaz iugemendu eguiten denean garaita duançát.
May it never be. Instead, let God be found to be true, even though every man is a liar. As it has been written, “That you might be shown to be righteous in your words, and that you might prevail when you come into judgment.”
5 Eta baldin gure iniustitiác Iaincoaren iustitiá lauda eraciten badu, cer erranen dugu? ala iniusto da Iaincoa punitzen duenean? (guiçon beçala minço naiz)
But if our unrighteousness shows the righteousness of God, what can we say? Can we say that God is unrighteous to bring his wrath upon us? (I am using a human argument.)
6 Guertha eztadila: bercela, nola iugeaturen du Iaincoac mundua?
May it never be! For then how would God judge the world?
7 Ecen baldin Iaincoaren eguiá abundosago bada ene gueçurraz haren gloriatan, cergatic ni goitiric bekatore beçala condemnatzen naiz?
But if the truth of God through my lie provides abundant praise for him, why am I still being judged as a sinner?
8 Eta (guçaz gaizqui minço diraden beçala, eta batzuc guc erraiten dugula dioiten beçala) ceren eztugu gaizqui eguiten, vnguia ethor dadinçát? ceinén damnationea iusto baita.
Why not say, as we are falsely reported to say, and as some affirm that we say, “Let us do evil, so that good may come”? The judgment on them is just.
9 Cer bada? excellentago gara? Eceinere maneraz: ecen aitzinetic raçoinac emanic eracutsi dugu, ecen guiciac hambat Iuduac nola Grecoac, bekatuaren azpian diradela.
What then? Are we excusing ourselves? Not at all. For we have already accused both Jews and Greeks, all of them, of being under sin.
10 Scribatua den beçala, Ezta iustoric, ezeta bakoitzic.
This is as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not one.
11 Ezta aditzen duenic ezta Iaincoa bilhatzen duenic.
There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.
12 Guciac aldaratu içan dirade, eta guciac elkarrequin inutil eguin içan dirade: ezta ontassunic eguiten duenic, ez batetarano.
They have all turned away. They together have become useless. There is no one who does good, no, not even one.”
13 Sepulchre irequibat da hayén eztarria: bere mihiéz enganiotara vsatu vkan duté: sugue aspic-aren poçoina da hayén ezpainetan.
“Their throat is an open grave. Their tongues have deceived. The poison of snakes is under their lips.”
14 Hayén ahoa maledictionez eta karminduraz bethea da.
“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
15 Arin dirade hayén oinac odol issurtera.
“Their feet are swift to pour out blood.
16 Destructione eta miseria hayén bidetan.
Destruction and suffering are in their paths.
17 Eta bide baquezcoa eztute eçagutu vkan.
These people have not known a way of peace.”
18 Ezta Iaincoaren beldurra hayen beguién aitzinean.
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Eta badaquigu ecen cerere Legueac erraiten baitu, Leguean diradeney erraiten drauela: aho gucia boça dadinçát, eta mundu gucia hoguendun dençát Iaincoaren aitzinean.
Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to the ones who are under the law. This is in order that every mouth may be shut, and the whole world held accountable to God.
20 Hunegatic Leguearen obréz ezta iustificaturen haraguiric batre haren aitzinean: ecen Legueaz da bekatuaren eçagutzea.
This is because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
21 Baina orain Leguea gabe Iaincoaren iustitiá manifestatu içan da, Leguearen eta Prophetén testimoniagea duela.
But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known. It was witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22 Bada Iaincoaren iustitiá, Iesus Christen fedez sinhesten duten gucietara eta gucién gainera: ecen ezta differentiaric batre:
that is, the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe. For there is no distinction.
23 ikussiric ecen guciéc bekatu eguin dutela, eta Iaincoaren gloriaren falta diradela.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,
24 Eta iustificatzen dirade dohainic haren gratiaz, Iesus Christ Iaunean eguin içan den redemptioneaz:
and they are freely justified by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
25 Cein ordenatu baitu Iaincoac fedeazco appacegagarri haren odolean, bere iustitiaren declaratzeco, aitzineco bekatuén barkamenduagatic, Iaincoaren patientiáz:
For God provided Christ Jesus as a propitiation through faith in his blood. He offered Christ as proof of his justice, because of his disregard of previous sins
26 Diot bere iustitiaren declaratzeco dembora hunetan: bera iusto dencát, eta Iesusen fedeco denaren iustificaçale.
in his patience. This all happened for the demonstration of his righteousness at this present time. This was so he could prove himself just, and to show that he justifies anyone because of faith in Jesus.
27 Non da beraz vantationea? iraitzi içan da. Cein leguez? obrenaz? Ez: baina fedearen legueaz.
Where then is boasting? It is excluded. On what grounds? Of works? No, but on the grounds of faith.
28 Concluditzen dugu beraz, fedez iustificatzen dela guiçona Leguearen obrác gabe.
We conclude then that a person is justified by faith without works of the law.
29 Ala Iuduén ber da Iaincoa? ala ez Gentilen-ere? guerthuqui Gentilen-ere.
Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not also the God of Gentiles? Yes, of Gentiles also.
30 Ecen bat da Iaincoa, ceinec iustificaturen baitu circoncisionea fedetic, eta preputioa fedeaz.
If, indeed, God is one, he will justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcision through faith.
31 Leguea bada ez deus bilhatzen dugu fedeaz? Guertha eztadila: aitzitic Leguea confirmatzen dugu.
Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! Instead, we uphold the law.
