And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 Eta diruäc iraitziric templean, retira cedin, eta ioanic, vrka ceçan bere buruä.
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 Orduan Sacrificadore principalec diruäc harturic erran ceçaten, Ezta sori hauc thesaurean eçar ditecen, ecen odol precioa da.
And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
7 Eta conseillu harturic, eros ceçaten heçaz topinaguile baten landá estrangeren ohortz leku.
And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.

10 Eta eman dituzte hec tupinaguile baten landaren erosteco, Iaunac niri ordenatu cerautan beçala.
And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.
11 Eta Iesus eraman cedin Gobernadorearen aitzinera, eta interroga ceçan Gobernadoreac, cioela, Hi aiz Iuduén Reguea? Iesusec erran cieçón, Hic dioc.
And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, Thou sayest.
12 Eta accusatu içanic Sacrificadore principaléz eta Ancianoéz, deus etzeçan ihardets.
And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
13 Orduan diotsa Pilatec, Eztançuc cembat gauça hire contra testificatzen duten?
Then saith Pilate to him, Hearest thou not how many things they testify against thee?
14 Eta etzieçón ihardets hitz batetara-ere: hala non miresten baitzuen Gobernadoreac haguitz.
And he answered to him never a word; so that the governor marvelled greatly.
15 Bada bestán costumatu çuen Gobernadoreac populuari beréc nahi çutén presoner baten largatzera.
Now at that feast the custom of the governor was to release to the people a prisoner, whom they would.

And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17 Bildu ciradenean bada hec, erran ciecén Pilatec, Cein nahi duçue larga dieçaçuedan? Barabbas, ala Iesus, deitzen dena Christ?
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom will ye that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?
18 Ecen baceaquian inuidiaz hura liuratu çutela.
For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.

20 Orduan Sacrificadore principaléc eta Ancianoéc burutan eman cieçoten populuari Barabbasen esca litecen, eta Iesus hil eraci leçaten.

The governor answered and said to them, Which of the two will ye that I release to you? They said, Barabbas.
22 Erran ciecén Pilatec, Cer eguinen dut beraz Iesusez Christ deitzen denaz? Diotsate guciéc, Crucifica bedi.
Pilate saith to them, What shall I do then with Jesus who is called Christ? They all say to him, Let him be crucified.
23 Eta Gobernadoreac dioste, Baina cer gaizqui eguin du? Orduan hec ohiu guehiago eguiten çutén, erraiten çutela, Crucifica bedi.

When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
25 Eta ihardesten çuela populu guciac erran ceçan, Horren odola dela gure gainean eta gure haourren gainean.
Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
26 Orduan larga ciecén Barabbas: eta Iesus açotaturic liura ciecén crucifica ledinçát.
Then he released Barabbas to them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered to him the whole band of soldiers.

And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 Eta thu eguinic haren contra, har ceçaten canabera hura, eta haren buruäri ceraunsaten.
And they spat upon him, and took the reed, and struck him on the head.

They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted it, he would not drink.

And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture they cast lots.
36 Eta iarriric ceudela beguiratzen çutén hurá han.
And sitting down they watched him there;

And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 Orduan crucificatu içan dirade harequin bi gaichtaguin bata escuinetic eta bercea ezquerretic.
Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Halaber Sacrificadore principaléc-ere truffatzen ciradela Scribequin eta Ancianoequin, erraiten çutén.

42 Berceac emparatu ditu, bere buruä ecin empara diro: baldin Israeleco Regue bada, iauts bedi orain crutzetic, eta sinhetsiren dugu hori.
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he is King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 Fida da Iaincoa baithan, empara beça orain, baldin haren gogaraco bada: ecen erran du, Iaincoaren Semea naiz.
He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
44 Hura bera, harequin crucificatu ciraden gaichtaguinec-ere reprotchatzen ceraucaten.
The thieves also, who were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
47 Eta han present ciradenetaric batzuc hori ençunic, cioiten, Elias deitzen du hunec.

The rest said, Forbear, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.
50 Eta orduan Iesusec berriz ocengui oihu eguinic, spiritua renda ceçan.

55 Han ciraden halaber anhitz emazte vrrundanic beha ceudela, cein iarreiqui içan baitzaizcan Iesusi Galileatic, hura cerbitzatzen çutela.
And many women were there beholding from afar off, who followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him:

Among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.

Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 Mana eçac bada beguira dadin sepulchrea heren egunerano, haren discipuluéc gauäz ethorriric, hura ebats ezteçaten, eta populuari derroten, Resuscitatu da hiletaric: eta halaz baitate azquen errorea lehena baino gaichtoago.
Command therefore that the sepulchre be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
65 Eta erran ciecén Pilatec, Badituçue goardac: çoazte, segura çaitezte daquiçuen beçala.
Pilate said to them, Ye have a watch: go, make it as secure as ye can.

So they went, and having sealed the stone, made the sepulchre secure, with a watch.
