1 Dembora hartan ençun ceçan Herodes Tetrarchac Iesusen famá:
At that season Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus,
2 Eta erran ciecen bere cerbitzariey, Haur Ioannes Baptistá da, hura resuscitatu içan da hiletaric, eta halacotz verthutéc obratzen duté hunetan.
and said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore do these powers work in him.
3 Ecen Herodesec hatzamanic Ioannes esteca ceçan, eta presoindeguian eçar, Herodias haren anaye Philipperen emaztearen causaz.
For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
4 Ecen erraiten ceraucan hari Ioannesec, Eztuc sori hori duán.
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
5 Eta hura hil nahi çuelaric populuaren beldur cen, ceren Propheta beçala baitzaducaten hura.
And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
6 Bada Herodesen sor eguneco bestá eguiten cenean, dança cedin Herodiasen alabá artean: eta Herodesen gogara eguin ceçan.
But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced in the midst, and pleased Herod.
7 Nondic iuramendurequin prometta baitzieçon, emanen ceraucala cer-ere esca bailedi.
Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she should ask.
8 Harc bada aitzinetic amáz instruitu içanic, Indac (dio) hemen platean Ioannes Baptistaren buruä.
And she, being put forward by her mother, saith, Give me here in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
9 Eta triste cedin regue: baina cinaren, eta harequin mahainean iarriric ceudenén causaz, mana ceçan eman lequión.
And the king was grieved; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them which sat at meat with him, he commanded it to be given;
10 Eta igor ceçan Ioannesi presoindeguian buruären edequi eracitera.
and he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
11 Eta ekarri içan da haren buruä platean, eta eman cequión nescatchari, eta harc presenta cieçón bere amari.
And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
12 Guero ethor citecen haren discipuluac, eta eraman ceçaten haren gorputza, eta ohortz ceçaten: eta ioanic conta cieçoten Iesusi.
And his disciples came, and took up the corpse, and buried him; and they went and told Jesus.
13 Eta hori ençunic Iesus parti cedin handic vnci batetan leku desertu batetara appart: eta ençunic gendetzeac oinez iarreiqui içan çaizcan hirietaric.
Now when Jesus heard [it], he withdrew from thence in a boat, to a desert place apart: and when the multitudes heard [thereof], they followed him on foot from the cities.
14 Eta ilkiric Iesusec ikus ceçan gendetze handibat eta compassione har ceçan heçaz, eta hayén arteco eriac senda citzan.
And he came forth, and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick.
15 Eta arrats aldean ethorri içan çaizcan bere discipuluac, cioitela, Leku desertua duc haur, eta ordua ia iragan, eyec congit gendetzey, burguètarát ioanic iateco eros deçatençat.
And when even was come, the disciples came to him, saying, The place is desert, and the time is already past; send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.
16 Baina Iesusec erran ciecén, Eztute ioaiteco mengoaric, eyeçue ceuroc iatera.
But Jesus said unto them, They have no need to go away; give ye them to eat.
17 Eta hec diotsote, Eztiagu hemen borz ogui eta bi arrain baicen.
And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18 Eta harc erran ciecen, Ekaztaçue huna.
And he said, Bring them hither to me.
19 Eta populua belhar gainean iartera manaturic, eta borz oguiac eta bi arrainac harturic, beguiac cerurat goitituric, gratiác renda citzan, eta hautsiric eman cietzen discipuluey oguiac, eta discipuluéc gendetzey.
And he commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
20 Eta ian ceçaten guciéc, eta ressasia citecen: eta goiti citzaten çathi soberatuetaric hamabi sasqui betheric.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up that which remained over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full.
21 Eta ian çutenac ciraden borz milla guiçonen inguruä, emazteac eta haourrac gabe.
And they that did eat were about five thousand men, beside women an children.
22 Eta bertan Iesusec bortcha citzan bere discipuluac vncian sartzera, eta haren aitzinean berce aldera iragaitera: populuari congit lemon bizquitartean.
And straightway he constrained the disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side, till he should send the multitudes away.
23 Eta congit emanic populuari, igan cedin mendira bereciqui, othoitz eguin leçançát. Eta arrastu cenean ber-bera cen han.
And after he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray: and when even was come, he was there alone.
24 Eta vncia ia itsassoaren artean cen, baguéz tormentatua: ecen haice contra cen.
But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
25 Eta gauären laurgarren veillán ioan cedin hetara Iesus, itsas gainez çabilala.
And in the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea.
26 Eta hura ikussiric itsas gainez çabilala, discipuluac trubla citecen, erraiten çutela, Fantosmabat da, eta beldurtiz oihu eguin ceçaten.
And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is an apparition; and they cried out for fear.
27 Baina bertan minça cequién Iesus, cioela, Sporça çaitezte: ni naiz etzaretela beldur.
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 Eta ihardesten ceraucala Pierrisec erran ceçan, Iauna, baldin hi bahaiz, mana neçac hiregana ethortera vr gainez.
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee upon the waters.
29 Bada harc erran ceçan, Athor. Eta iautsiric vncitic Pierris ioan cedin vr gainez, Iesusgana ethor ledinçát.
And he said, Come. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked upon the waters, to come to Jesus.
30 Baina haicea sendo ikussiric, icit cedin: eta hundatzen hassi cenean oihu eguin ceçan, cioela, Iauna, salua neçac.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.
31 Eta bertan Iesus escua hedaturic lot cequión, eta diotsó, O fede chipitacoá, cergatic dudatu duc?
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and took hold of him, and saith unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 Eta sarthu ciradenean vncira, sossega cedin haicea.
And when they were gone up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Orduan vncian ciradenéc ethorriric adora ceçaten hura, cioitela, Eguiazqui Iaincoaren Seme aiz.
And they that were in the boat worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
34 Eta berce aldera iraganic ethor citecen Genesaretco lurrera.
And when they had crossed over, they came to the land, unto Gennesaret.
35 Eta hura eçagutu vkan çutenean leku hartaco guiçonéc, igor ceçaten inguruco aldiri gucietara, eta presenta cietzoten eri ciraden guciac.
And when the men of that place knew him, they sent into all that region round about, and brought unto him all that were sick;
36 Eta othoitz eguiten ceraucaten solament hunqui leçaten haren abillamendu ezpaina, eta hunqui vkan çuten guciac, senda citecen.
and they besought him that they might only touch the border of his garment: and as many as touched were made whole.
