But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2 Eta eriden ceçaten harria monumentetic aldaratua.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3 Eta sarthu ciradenean etzeçaten eriden Iesus Iaunaren gorputza.
They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.
4 Eta guertha cedin hec halacotz duda handitan ciradela, huná bi guiçon eriden baitzitecen han, chistmist ançora arguitzen çuten abillamendutan.
While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
5 Eta nola icituac baitziraden, eta beheititzen baitziraden beguithartez lurrera guicon hec erran ciecén, Cergatic hilén artean bilhatzen duçue vici dena?
Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. The men said to them, “Why do you seek the living amongst the dead?
6 Ezta hemen, baina resuscitatu da: orhoit çaitezte nola erran cerauçuen oraino Galilean cela,
He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
7 Cioela, Behar da guiçonaren Semea liura dadin vicitze gaichtotacoen escuetara, eta crucifica dadin: eta hereneco egunean resuscita dadin.
saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
8 Eta orhoit citecen haren hitzéz.
They remembered his words,
9 Eta monumentetic itzuli ciradenean, conta cietzén gauça hauc guciac hamequey, eta berce guciey.
returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10 Eta ciraden Maria Magdalena eta Ioanna eta Maria Iacquesen ama, eta berce hequin ciradenac, gauça hauén Apostoluey erraileac.
Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.

These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.

But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
13 Eta huná, hetaric biga ioaiten ciraden egun hartan berean burgu batetara hiruroguey stadio Ierusalemetic vrrun, Emaus deitzen cenera:
Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia from Jerusalem.
14 Eta minço ciraden elkarren artean heldu içan ciraden gauça hauçaz guciéz.
They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15 Guertha cedin bada hec minço ciradela eta ciharducatela, Iesus-ere hæy hurbilduric ioan baitzedin hequin batean.
While they talked and questioned together, Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
16 Baina hayen beguiac luluratuac ceuden hura eçagut ezleçatençát.
But their eyes were kept from recognising him.
17 Eta erran ciecén, Ceric dirade ioaiten çaretela çuen artean compartitzen dituçuen hitz horiac, eta cergatic çarete triste?
He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
18 Eta ihardesten çuela batac Cleopas deitzen cenac, erran cieçón, Hi euror aiz Ierusalemen arrotz, eta eztaquizquic hartan egun hautan eguin içan diraden gauçac?
One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”
19 Eta harc erran ciecén, Cer gauça? Eta erran cieçoten, Iesus Nazarenoaz, cein içan baita guiçon Propheta, eguinez eta erranez botheretsua, Iaincoaren eta populu guciaren aitzinean.
He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
22 Baina gure arteco emazte batzuc-ere icitu guiaitié, cein guciz goiz monumentean içan baitirade:
Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
23 Eta eriden eztutenean haren gorputza, ethorri içan dituc, dioitela visionebat-ere Aingueruènic ikussi vkan dutela, hura vici dela dioitenenic
and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24 Eta ioan içan dituc gurequin ciradenetaric batzu monumentera, eta hala eriden dié nola emaztéc erran baitzuten: baina bera eztié ikussi.
Some of us went to the tomb and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
25 Orduan harc erran ciecen, O adimendu gabeac, eta Prophetéc erran dituzten gauça gucién sinhestera bihotz berantcorretacoac!
He said to them, “Foolish people, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26 Etzena behar Christec gauça horiac suffri citzan, eta bere glorian sar ledin?
Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
27 Guero hassiric Moyses baitharic eta Propheta gucietaric, declaratzen cerauzten Scriptura gucietan harçaz beraz ciraden gauçác.
Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 Eta hurbil citecen ioaiten ciraden burgura, eta harc vrrunago ioaitera irudi eguiten çuen.
They came near to the village where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29 Baina bortcha ceçaten, cioitela, Ago gurequin: ecen arratsa duc, eta eguna duc beheratu. Sar cedin bada hequin egoitera.
They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
30 Eta guertha cedin hequin mahainean iarriric cegoela, oguia harturic gratiác renda baitzitzan, eta hautsiric eman baitziecén.
When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave it to them.
31 Orduan irequi citecen hayén beguiac, eta eçagut ceçaten hura: baina hura ken cedin hayén aguerritic.
Their eyes were opened and they recognised him; then he vanished out of their sight.
32 Eta erran ceçaten elkarren artean, Etzena gure bihotza erratzen gutan, minço çaicunean bidean, eta declaratzen cerauzquigunean Scripturác?
They said to one another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
33 Eta iaiquiric ordu hartan berean itzul citecen Ierusalemera, eta eriden citzaten elkargana bilduac hamecác, eta hequin ciradenac:
They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34 Erraiten çutela, Resuscitatu da Iauna eguiazqui, eta aguertu içan çayó Simoni.
saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
35 Hec-ere conta citzaten bideco gauçác, eta nola heçaz eçagutu içan cen oguiaren haustean.
They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognised by them in the breaking of the bread.
36 Eta gauça hauçaz minço ciradela, presenta cedin Iesus bera hayén artean, eta erran ciecén, Baquea dela çuequin.
As they said these things, Jesus himself stood amongst them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
37 Baina hec trublaturic eta icituric, vste çutén spiritubat çacussatela.
But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 Orduan erran ciecén, Cergatic trublatu çarete, eta cergatic pensamenduac igaiten dirade çuen bihotzetara?
He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 Ikus itzaçue ene escuac eta ene oinac: ecen hura bera naiz ni, hazta neçaçue, eta mira: ecen spirituac haraguiric ez heçurric eztu, nola nic dudala baitacussaçue.
See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
40 Eta gauça hauc erran cituenean, eracuts cietzén escuac eta oinac.
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 Baina oraino hec alegueraz sinhesten etzutela, eta miraz ceudela, erran ciecén, Baduçue hemen deus iatecoric?
While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
42 Orduan hec presenta cieçoten arrain erre çathibat, eta ezti orrace batetaric.
They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
43 Eta harturic hayén aitzinean ian ceçan.
He took them, and ate in front of them.
44 Eta erran ciecén, Hauc dirade erraiten nerauzquiçuen hitzac, oraino çuequin nincela, ecen behar ciradela complitu niçaz Moysesen Leguean, eta Prophetetan, eta Psalmuetan scribaturic dauden gauça guciac.
He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”
45 Orduan irequi ceçan hayén adimendua, Scripturén aditzeco.
Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46 Eta erran ciecén, Hala da scribatua eta hala behar cen Christec suffri leçan, eta resuscita ledin hiletaric hereneco egunean.
He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
47 Eta predica ledin haren icenean penitentiá eta bekatuén barkamendua natione gucietan, hassiric Ierusalemetic.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 Eta çuec çarete testimonio gauça hauçaz: eta huná nic igorriren dut neure Aitaren promessa çuen gainera:
You are witnesses of these things.
49 Baina çuec çaudete Ierusalemeco hirian verthutez garaitic vezti çaitezqueteno.
Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
50 Guero eraman citzan camporát Bethaniarano eta bere escuac altchaturic, benedica citzan.
He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
51 Eta guertha cedin hec benedicatzen cituela, appartaturic hetaric, goiti altcha baitzedin cerurát.
While he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.
52 Eta hec hura adoraturic itzul citecen Ierusalemera, bozcario handirequin.
They worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53 Eta ciraden bethi templean, laudatzen eta benedicatzen çutela Iaincoa. Amen.
and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
