< Joan 12 >

1 Bada Iesus sey egun bazcoren aitzinetic ethor cedin Bethaniara, non baitzén Lazaro hil içan cena, cein resuscitatu baitzuen hiletaric.
Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, who He had raised from the dead.
2 Eguin cieçoten bada hari affaribat han, eta Marthac cerbitzua eguiten çuen: eta Lazaro cen harequin mahainean iarriric ceudenetaric bat.
There they made Him a supper, and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.
3 Orduan Mariac harturic liberabat vnguentu aspic finez precio handitacoric, vncta citzan Iesusen oinac, eta ichuca citzan bere adatsaz: eta etchea bethe cedin vnguentuaren vrrinez.
Then Mary took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
4 Orduan erran ceçan haren discipuluetaric batec, Iudas Iscariot Simonen semeac, hura tradituren çuenac.
Then one of Jesus’ disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who was about to betray Him, said,
5 Ceren vnguentu haur ezta saldu içan hirurehun dinerotan, eta eman paubrey?
“Why wasn’t this fragrant oil sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”
6 Eta haur erran ceçan, ez paubrez harc ansiaric çuenez: baina ceren ohoin baitzen, eta mulsá baitzuen, eta eçarten ciradenac harc ekarten baitzituen.
Now he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and since he had the money box, he used to steal from what was put into it.
7 Erran ceçan bada Iesusec, Vtzi eçac, ene sepultura eguneco hori beguiratu dic.
Jesus therefore said, “Leave her alone. She has kept this for the day of my burial.
8 Ecen paubreac bethiere vkanen dituçue çuequin: baina ni eznauçue bethiere vkanen.
You will always have the poor among you, but you won’t always have me.”
9 Orduan eçagut ceçan Iuduetaric gendetze handic, ecen han cela: eta ethor citecen ez Iesusgatic solament, baina are Lazaro ikus leçatençat, cein harc hiletaric resuscitatu baitzuen.
Then a great multitude of the Jews learned that He was there; and they came, not just for Jesus’ sake, but also so that they could see Lazarus, who He had raised from the dead.
10 Eta consulta ceçaten Sacrificadore principalec Lazaro-ere hil leçatençát.
So the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too,
11 Ecen Iuduetaric anhitz haren causaz ioaiten ciraden, eta sinhesten çuten Iesus baithan.
because on account of him many of the Jews were going away, and were believing in Jesus.
12 Biharamunean bestara ethorri içan cen gendetze handic, ençunic ecen Iesus ethorten cela Ierusalemera,
The next day, when a great multitude that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Har citzaten palma adarrac, eta ilki cequizquion aitzinera, eta oihu eguiten çutén, Hosanna, Benedicatu dela Iaunaren icenean ethorten den Israeleco reguea.
they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and shouted: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ The King of Israel!”
14 Eta eriden ceçan Iesusec asto-vme arbat, eta iar cedin haren gainean, scribatua den beçala,
Then Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it, as it is written:
15 Ezaicela beldur Siongo alabá: huná, hire Regue ethorten dun iarriric dagoela asto-vme ar-baten gainean.
“Don’t be afraid, Daughter of Zion; look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
16 Eta gauça hauc etzitzaten eçagut haren discipuluéc lehenetic: baina Iesus glorificatu içan cenean, orduan orhoit citecen ecen gauça hauc harçaz scribatuac ciradela, eta hari gauça hauc eguin cerautzatela.
His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.
17 Eta testificatzen çuen harequin cen gendetzeac, ecen Lazaro deithu çuela monumentetic, eta hura resuscitatu çuela hiletaric.
So the crowd that had been with Him when He called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to testify.
18 Halacotz atzinera ethorri-ere içan çayón gendetzea, ecen ençun çuten, harc miraculu haur eguin çuela.
The crowd also met Him because they heard that He had done this sign.
19 Eta Phariseuéc erran ceçaten bere artean, Eztacussaçue ecen etzaretela deus probetchatzen? horrá, mundua haren ondoan ioan da.
Then the Pharisees said among themselves, “You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the whole world has gone after Him!”
20 Eta baciraden Grec batzu igaiten ohi ciradenetaric adoratzera bestán:
Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
21 Hauc bada ethor citecen Philippegana cein baitzén Bethsaidaco Galilean, eta othoitz eguin cieçoten, cioitela, Iauna, nahi guendiquec Iesus ikussi.
Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and told him, “Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”
22 Ethorten da Philippe eta erraiten drauca Andriui, Andriuèc berriz eta Philippec erraiten draucate Iesusi.
Philip came and told Andrew, then Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus.
23 Eta Iesusec ihardets ciecén, cioela, Ethorri da ordua guiçonaren Semea glorificaturen baita.
Jesus answered them, saying, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
24 Eguiaz eguiaz erraiten drauçuet, baldin ogui bihia lurrera eroriric hil ezpadadi, hura bera dago: baina baldin hil badadi fructu anhitz ekarten du.
Most assuredly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it produces many grains.
25 Bere viciari on daritzanac galduren du hura: eta bere viciari gaitz daritzanac mundu hunetan, vicitze eternalecotzat beguiraturen du hura. (aiōnios g166)
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, and anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
26 Baldin ni cembeitec cerbitzatzen banau, niri iarreiqui bequit: eta non ni içanen bainaiz, han ene cerbitzaria-ere içanen da: eta baldin cembeitec ni cerbitza baneça, ohoraturen du hura ene Aitac.
If anyone serves me, let them follow me; and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, my Father will honor them.
27 Orain ene arimá trublatua da: eta cer erranen dut? Aitá, empara neçac oren hunetaric: baina halacotz ethorri nauc oren hunetara.
“Now my soul has become troubled; and what will I say? ‘Father, save me from this time’? No, for this purpose I came to this time.
28 Aitá, glorifica eçac eure icena. Ethor cedin orduan vozbat cerutic, cioela, Eta glorificatu diat, eta berriz glorificaturen.
Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from Heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
29 Eta gendetze han cenac, eta ençun çuenac, cioen, igorciribat eguin çuela. Bercéc cioiten, Aingueruä minçatu içan çayo.
Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
30 Ihardets ceçan Iesusec eta erran, Ezta enegatic voz haur eguin içan, baina çuengatic.
Jesus answered, “This voice hasn’t come for my sake, but for your sakes.
31 Orain da mundu hunen iugemendua: orain mundu hunetaco princea egotziren da campora.
Now judgment is upon this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
32 Eta nic, baldin goititua banaiz lurretic, guciac tiraturen ditut neuregana.
And I, if I am lifted up from the Earth, will draw everyone to myself.”
33 (Eta haur erraiten çuen, aditzera emaiten çuela cer herioz hil behar çuen)
He was saying this to indicate the kind of death He was about to die.
34 Ihardets cieçón gendetzeac, Guc ençun diagu Leguetic, ecen Christ badagoela eternalqui: eta nola hic erraiten duc ecen behar dela goiti dadin guiçonaren Semea? nor da guiçonarenSeme hori? (aiōn g165)
Therefore the crowd answered Him, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever, so how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?” (aiōn g165)
35 Erran ciecén orduan Iesusec, Oraino dembora guti batetacotz Arguia çuequin da: ebil çaitezte Arguia duçueno, ilhumbeac ardiets etzaitzatençát: ecen ilhumbean dabilanac, eztaqui norat ioaiten den.
Jesus told them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you don’t know where you are going.
36 Arguia duçueno sinhets eçaçue. Arguia baithan, Arguiaren seme çaretençat. Gauça hauc erran citzan Iesusec: guero ioanic gorde cedin hetaric.
Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.
37 Eta hambat miraculu eguin baçuen-ere hayén aitzinean, etzuten sinhesten hura baithan:
Although He had performed so many signs in front of them, they still didn’t believe in Him,
38 Esaias prophetaren hitza compli ledinçát, cein erran vkan baitu, Iauna, norc sinhetsi vkan du gure hitza, eta Iaunaren bessoa nori reuelatu içan çayo?
so that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And who has the arm of the LORD been revealed to?”
39 Halacotz ecin sinhets ceçaqueten, ceren berriz erran baitu Esaiasec,
Therefore they couldn’t believe, because Isaiah said again:
40 Itsutu vkan ditu hayén beguiac, eta gogortu vkan du hayén bihotza: beguiz ikus ezteçatençat, eta bihotzez adi ez teçaten, eta conuerti ez titecen, eta senda ez titzadan.
“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts and turn — and I would heal them.”
41 Gauça hauc erran citzan Esaiasec, haren gloriá ikussi çuenean, eta minçatu içan da harçaz.
Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.
42 Badaric-ere principaletaric-ere anhitzec hura baithan sinhets ceçaten: baina Phariseuacgatic etzuten aithortzen, synagogatic campora egotz litecen beldurrez.
Nevertheless, even many of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they weren’t confessing Him, for fear that they might be put out of the synagogue;
43 Ecen maiteago vkan dute guiçonén gloriá, ecen ez Iaincoaren gloriá.
because they sincerely loved men’s approval more than God’s approval.
44 Orduan oihu eguin ceçan Iesusec, eta erran ceçan, Ni baithan sinhesten duenac, eztu sinhesten ni baithan, baina ni igorri nauena baithan.
Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me doesn’t just believe in me, but in Him who sent me.
45 Eta ni ikusten nauenac, ikusten du ni igorri nauena.
Whoever sees me sees Him who sent me.
46 Ni Argui mundura ethorri naiz, ni baithan sinhesten duenic batre, ilhumbean eztagoençát
I have come into the world as light, that everyone who believes in me should not stay in darkness.
47 Eta baldin nehorc ençun baditza ene hitzac, eta ez sinhets, nic eztut condemnatzen hura: ecen eznaiz ethorri mundua condemna deçadançát, baina mundua salua deçadançat.
If anyone hears the words I speak, and doesn’t keep them, I don’t judge them; because I didn’t come to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 Ni iraizten nauenac, eta ez recebitzen ene hitzac, badu norc hura condemna deçan: ni minçatu naicen hitzac condemnaturen du hura azquen egunean,
Whoever rejects me, and doesn’t receive my sayings, has one who judges them. The words that I spoke are what will judge him at the last day.
49 Ecen ni neure burutic eznaiz minçatu: baina ni igorri nauen Aitac berac manamendu eman draut, cer erran deçaquedan eta cer minça naiten.
For I haven’t spoken on my own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent me has given me commandment, what to say, and what to speak.
50 Eta badaquit ecen haren manamendua vicitze eternal dela: bada nic erraiten ditudan gauçác, nola Aitac eman baitrauzquit, hala erraiten ditut. (aiōnios g166)
I know that His commandment is eternal life, so the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told me.” (aiōnios g166)
