1 Eta ethorri cenean Mendecoste eguna, guciac ciraden gogo batez leku batetan berean.
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together with one purpose.
2 Eta eguin cedin subitoqui cerutic soinubat botheretsuqui heldu den haice baten ançora, eta bethe ceçan etche gucia non baitzeuden iarriric:
And suddenly a roar came out of the sky, like the rushing of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Eta aguer cequizquien suaren ançoco mihi partituac, eta paussa cedin hetaric batbederaren gainean.
Fiery tongues appeared and were distributed to them, and it [a tongue] landed on each one of them.
4 Eta bethe citecen guciac Spiritu sainduaz, eta has citecen minçatzen lengoage arrotzez, Spirituac minçatzera emaiten cerauen beçala.
And they were all filled with Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages, as the Spirit was granting to them to speak out.
5 Eta bacén Ierusalemen egoiten ciraden Iudu Iaincoaren beldurra çuten guiçonetaric, ceruaren azpico natione orotaric.
Now there were devout men, Jews, from every nation under heaven, dwelling in Jerusalem.
6 Bada hots haur eguin cenean, bil cedin gendaldebat, eta trubla cedin, ceren batbederac ençuten baitzituen bere lengoage propriz hec minçatzen.
So when that roar occurred, the crowd came together, and was bewildered, because each one was hearing them speaking to him in his own dialect.
7 Eta spantatuac ceuden guciac, eta miresten çutén elkarri ciotsatela, Huná, minço diraden hauc gucioc, eztirade Galileano?
So they were amazed and marveled, saying to one another: “Hey, aren't all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 Nolatan bada guc dançuzquigu batbedera iayo içan garen lengoage propriaz minçatzen?
So how can each of us be hearing our own dialect in which we were born?
9 Parthianoéc eta Medianoéc eta Elamitéc, eta Mesopotamian egoiten diradenéc, eta Iudean, eta Cappadocian, Ponten, eta Asian,
Parthians and Medes and Elamites; those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia,
10 Phrygian eta Pamphylian, Egypten, eta Lybia bazterretan, baita Cyreneco aurkán, eta Roman daudenéc, eta Iuduéc eta Proselytoéc, Cretianoéc eta Arabianoéc:
in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene; and visitors from Rome—both Jews and proselytes—
11 Ençuten ditugu hauc gure lengoagez minço diradela Iaincoaren gauça magnificoez.
Cretans and Arabians; we hear them declaring the great works of God in our own languages.”
12 Eta spantatuac ceuden guciac, eta etzaquitén cer pensa, elkarri ciotsatela, Cer erran nahi da haur?
Yes they were all amazed and perplexed, saying one to another, “Whatever is going on?”
But different ones were jeering, saying, “They are full of sweet wine!”
14 Baina çutic cegoela Pierrisec hamequequin, altcha ceçan bere voza, eta minça cequién, cioela, Guiçon Iuduác eta Ierusalemen habitatzen çareten guciác, haur iaquiçue, eta beharriez har itzaçue ene hitzac.
So Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and proclaimed to them: “Men—Jews and all who are dwelling in Jerusalem—let this be known to you; indeed, listen to my speech!
15 Ecen eztirade, çuec vste duçuen beçala hauc hordi, ikussiric ecen egunaren heren orena dela
Because these are not drunk, as you suppose (since it is only the third hour of the day),
16 Baina haur da Ioel prophetáz erran içan dena.
but this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 Eta içanen da, azquen egunetan (dio Iain-coac) erautsiren baitut neure Spiritutic haragui guciren gainera: eta prophetizaturen dute çuen seméc eta çuen alabéc, eta çuen gaztéc visioneac ikussiren dituzte, eta çuen çaharréc ametsez amets eguinen duté.
‘It will be in the last days, says God: I will pour out from my Spirit upon all flesh; your sons and your daughters will prophesy; your young men will see visions; your old men will dream a dream.
18 Eta segur neure muthilén eta neure nescatoen gainera egun hetan erautsiren dut neure Spiritutic, eta prophetizaturen duté.
In those days I will indeed pour out from my Spirit upon my male slaves and upon my female slaves, and they will prophesy.
19 Eta eguinen ditut gauça miraculuzcoac ceruän garayan, eta signoac lurrean beherean, odol eta su eta kezco vapore.
I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and smoke vapor.
20 Iguzquia cambiaturen date ilhumbetara, eta ilharguia odoletara, Iaunaren egun handia eta notablea dathorren baino lehen.
The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into ‘blood’ before the great and glorious day of the Lord will come.
21 Eta içanen da norc-ere inuocaturen baitu Iaunaren icena, saluaturen baita haina.
And it will be: whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved!’
22 Israeltar guiçonác, ençun itzaçue hitz hauc: Iesus Nazarenoa, guiçon Iaincoaz approbatua çuec baithan obra excellentez eta miraculuz eta signoz, cein eguin baititu Iaincoac harçaz çuen artean, ceuroc-ere daquiçuen beçala:
“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Natsorean, a man from God attested to you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in your midst, as you yourselves well know,
23 Haur, Iaincoaren confeillu arrastatuz eta prouidentiaz emana hartu cindutenean, gaichtoén escuz crucificaturic hil vkan duçue.
Him—being delivered up by the established purpose and foreknowledge of God—you murdered, having taken Him with lawless hands and crucified Him;
24 Cein Iaincoac resuscitatu baitu, herioaren doloreac lachaturic, ceren ezpaitzén possible hura harçaz, eduqui ledin.
whom God raised up, ending the labor pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
25 Ecen Dauid-ec erraiten du harçaz, Contemplatzen nuen Iauna neure aitzinean bethiere: ecen neure escuineco aldean daut higui eznadin
For David says concerning Him: ‘I always saw the Lord before my face, because He is at my right side so that I not be shaken.
26 Halacotz alegueratu da ene bihotza, eta boztu da ene mihia, eta are guehiago ene haraguia paussaturen da sperançatan.
Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced. Furthermore, even my flesh will repose upon hope,
27 Ecen eztuc vtziren ene arimá sepulchrean, eta eztuc permettituren hire Sainduac corruptioneric sendi deçan. (Hadēs g86)
because You will not abandon my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see decay. (Hadēs g86)
28 Eçagut eraci drauzquidac vicitzearen bideac, betheren nauc bozcarioz eure beguitharte aitzinean.
You have made known to me roads of life; with Your presence You make me full of gladness.’
29 Guiçon anayeác, frangoqui erran ahal deçaqueçuet Dauid patriarcház, ecen hura hil içan dela eta ohortze içan dela, eta haren sepulchrea gure artean dela egungo egunerano.
“Men, brothers, be it permitted to speak to you plainly about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 Bada Propheta nola baitzén, eta baitzaquian ecen iuramenduz iuratu ceraucala Iaincoac ecen haren guerrunceco fructutic, haraguiaren arauez, Christ suscitaturen çuela, haren throno gainean iar eraciteco.
So then, he being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn to him with an oath that of the fruit, according to flesh, of his loins He would raise up the Messiah to sit on his throne,
31 Aitzinetic ikussiric minçatu içan da Christen resurrectioneaz, ecen eztela vtzi içan haren arima sepulchrean, eta haren haraguiac eztuela ikussi corruptioneric. (Hadēs g86)
he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah, that His soul was not abandoned in Hades, nor did His flesh see decay. (Hadēs g86)
32 Iesus haur resuscitatu vkan du Iaincoac, eta gauça hunez gu gucioc gara testimonio.
“This Jesus God raised, to which we all are witnesses.
33 Bada Iaincoaren escuinaz altchatu içan denean eta Spiritu sainduaren promessa Aitaganic recebitu duenean, erautsi vkan du çuec orain dacussaçuen eta dançuçuen haur.
Therefore, having been exalted to God's right hand, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this that you now see and hear.
34 Ecen Dauid ezta igan ceruètara: baina dio berac, Erran drauca Iaunac ene Iaunari, Iar adi ene escuinean,
Further, David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says: ‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand
35 Eçar ditzaçuedano hire etsayac hire oinén scabella.
until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.’
36 Segur iaquin beça bada Israeleco etche guciac, ecen hura Iaun eta Christ eguin duela Iaincoac: Iesus çuec crucificatu duçuen haur diot.
Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified!”
37 Eta gauça hauc ençunic bihotz-chimico har ceçaten, eta erran cieçoten Pierrisi eta berce Apostoluey, Cer eguinen dugu guiçon anayeác?
Now upon hearing this they were cut to the heart and said to Peter, and the rest of the Apostles, “Men, brothers, what shall we do?!”
38 Eta Pierrisec dioste, Emenda çaitezte eta batheya bedi çuetaric batbedera Iesus Christen icenean bekatuén barkamendutan: eta recebituren duçue Spiritu sainduaren dohaina.
So Peter said to them: “Repent and be baptized, each one of you, upon the name of Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 Ecen çuey eguin çaiçue promessa eta çuen haourrey, eta vrrun diraden guciey, cembat-ere deithuren baititu gure Iainco Iaunac.
For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far away—as many, that is, as the Lord our God may call.”
40 Eta anhitz berce hitzez testificatzen çuen, eta exhortatzen cituen, cioela, Salua çaitezte natione gaichto hunetaric.
With many different words he both testified and kept exhorting, saying, “Escape from this perverse generation!”
41 Bada gogotic haren hitza recebitu çutenac, batheya citecen, eta augmenta citecen egun hartan hirur milla arimaren inguruäz.
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized, and that day about three thousand souls were added.
42 Eta perseueratzen çuten Apostoluén doctrinán, eta communicationean, eta oguiaren haustean, eta orationétan.
And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles' teaching and in the fellowship, both in the breaking of the bread and in the prayers.
43 Eta arima guciari beldurtassun lot cequion, eta anhitz gauça miraculuzco eta signo Apostoluez eguiten cen.
Fear came upon every soul—many wonders and signs were taking place through the Apostles.
44 Eta sinhesten çuten guciac-ere elkarrequin ciraden, eta gauça guciac commun cituztén.
Now all who believed were together and had all things in common;
45 Possessioneac eta onhassunac saltzen cituzten, eta partitzen cerezten guciey batbederac beharra çuenaren araura.
they started selling both possessions and goods and were distributing to all according as anyone had need.
46 Eta egun oroz perseueratzen çutén gogo batez templean, eta hausten çutela oguia etchez etche, hartzen çuten bere othorançá alegrançarequin eta bihotzezco simplicitaterequin:
So day by day they continued steadfastly with one purpose in the temple and broke bread from house to house; they received their share of food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Laudatzen çutela Iaincoa, eta gratia çutela populu gucia baithan. Eta Iaunac eratchequiten ceraucan gende saluatu içatecoric egun oroz Eliçari.
praising God and having favor with all the people. And day by day the Lord added to the Church those who were being saved.
