< 1 Pedro 2 >

1 Beraz vtziric malitia gucia, eta enganio guciá, eta hypocrisiác, eta inuidiác, eta gaitzerraite guciac,
So then, laying aside all malignity—even all deceit and play-actings and envies, yes all malicious speaking—
2 Desira eçaçue, haour heuraguiric eztuela sorthuen ançora, adimenduzco eta enganio gabeco eznea, harçaz haz çaiteztençát.
crave the pure spiritual ‘milk’, like newborn babies do, so that by it you may grow into salvation,
3 Baldin dastatu baduçue ecen benigno dela Iauna.
if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is benevolent.
4 Harengana hurbiltzen çaretelaric cein baita harri vicia, guiçonéz arbuyatua, baina Iaincoa baithan elegitua eta preciosoa.
Coming to Him, a living stone—rejected indeed by men but chosen by God, precious—
5 Çuec-ere harri vici anço edifica çaitezte, etche spiritual, Sacrificadoregoa saindu, Iesus Christez Iaincoaren gogaraco sacrificio spiritual offrendatzeco.
you also, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Halacotz contenitzen-ere da Scripturán, Huná, eçarten dut Sionen, har cantoin principala, elegitua eta preciosoa: eta hartan sinhesten duena ezta confus içanen.
That is why the Scripture contains: “Attention, I am laying in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, precious, and the one who rests his trust upon Him will absolutely not be humiliated.”
7 Hurá da bada ohore çuen sinhesten duçuenón: baina sinhesten eztutenen, harri edificaçaléc arbuyatu vkan dutena cantoineco principal eguin içan da, eta behaztopamendutaco harri, eta trebucamendutaco harri.
So then, this recompense is for you who believe, but to those who disobey, “the stone that the builders rejected is just the one that became the chief cornerstone,”
8 Cein trebucatzen baitirade hitzaren contra desobedient diradelaric: hartaco ordenatu-ere dirade.
also “a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”; being disobedient to the Word, they stumble, to which, indeed, they were appointed.
9 Baina çuec çarete generatione elegitua, Sacrificadoregoa reala, gende saindua, populu acquisitua: ilhumbetic bere miragarrizco arguira deithu vkan çaituztenaren verthuteac denuntia ditzaçuençát.
But you are a chosen family, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a private-property people, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 Noizpait cinetenac ez populu, orain çarete Iaincoaren populu: çuec misericordia obtenitu etzendutenóc, orain misericordia obtenitu vkan duçue.
who formerly were not a people but now are God's people, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
11 Maiteác, othoitz eguiten drauçuet, estrangeren eta bideazcoén ançora, beguira çaitezten haraguiaren guthicietaric, ceinéc guerla eguiten baitute arimén contra:
Dear ones, I urge you to abstain from the lusts of the flesh, that war against the soul,
12 Çuen conuersationea duçuelaric honest Gentillén artean çueçaz gaizquiguilez beçala minço diraden gaucetan, ikussi dituqueizten obra onetaric glorifica deçatençát Iaincoa visitationeco egunean.
keeping your way of life among the nations praiseworthy (you being foreigners and sojourners), so that wherein they speak against you as evildoers, in spite of the praiseworthy deeds they have observed, they may glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Çareten bada suiet gobernamendu humano guciaren Iaunagatic: edo regueren, superioraren beçala:
Therefore subordinate yourselves to every human institution because of the Lord, whether to a king, as being in authority,
14 Edo gobernadorén, harçaz igorri içan diradenén beçala, gaizquiguilén mendequiotan eta vnguiguilén laudoriotan.
or to governors, as being sent by him, both for punishment of evildoers and for praise of good-doers.
15 Ecen hunela da Iaincoaren vorondatea, vngui eguitez, guiçon erhoén ignorantiari ahoa boça dieçoçuen:
Because such is the will of God, to silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good:
16 Libertatetan çaretenéc beçala, eta ez libertatea malitiaren estalquitan bacendute beçala, aitzitic Iaincoaren cerbitzariéc beçala.
as free (not using the freedom as a cover for evil), yet as slaves of God.
17 Guciac ohoraitzaçue: anayetassunari on eritzoçue. Çareten Iaincoaren beldur. Regue ohora eçaçue.
Respect everyone; love the brotherhood; fear God; honor the king.
18 Cerbitzariác, çareten beldur gucirequin nabussién suiet, ez solament onén eta humanoén, baina dorpén-ere.
Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unscrupulous.
19 Ecen haur da gogaraco, baldin norbeitec Iaincoaganaco conscientiagatic fascheriaric suffritzen badu, iniustoqui suffritzen duelaric:
For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God someone endures grief, suffering unjustly.
20 Ecen cer laudorio da, baldin falta eguinic buffetatzen çaretenean pairatzen baduçue? baina baldin vngui eguiten duçuelaric eta affligitzen çaretelaric pairatzen baduçue, haur da Iaincoaren gogaraco.
For what credit is it if upon sinning and being beaten you endure patiently? But if upon doing good and suffering you endure patiently, this is commendable before God.
21 Ecen hunetacotzát deithu içan çarete: ecen Christec-ere suffritu vkan du guregatic, guri exemplu vtziten draucula, haren oin hatzey iarreiqui çaquiztençat:
Now you have been called to this, really, because Christ also suffered in our behalf, leaving you an example that you should follow in His footsteps:
22 Ceinec ezpaitu bekaturic eguin vkan, eta eceinere enganioric ezta eriden içan haren ahoan.
who did not commit sin, neither was deceit found in His mouth;
23 Ceinec iniuriatzen cenean, ezpaitzuen iniuriatzen: gaizqui eguiten ceraucatenean, ezpaitzuen mehatchuric eguiten: baina remettitzen cen iustoqui iugeatzen duenagana.
who being reviled did not revile in return, suffering did not threaten but committed it to Him who judges righteously;
24 Ceinec gure bekatuac ekarri vkan baititu bere gorputzean çur gainean: bekatuey hilic, iustitiari vici guiaizquionçat: ceinen vkalduráz sendatu içan baitzarete.
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, so that we, having died to those sins, might live for the righteousness; by whose wound you were healed.
25 Ecen ardi errebelatuac beçala cineten, baina orain conuertitu içan çarete çuen arimén Artzainagana eta Ipizpicuagana.
Yes, you were like straying sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls.
